Dr. Patric Cohen has highly specialized training in Sedation Dentistry. Following in his grandfather’s footsteps, who began his dental practice in 1929, Dr. Cohen attended Stanford University and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at University of Southern California. In 1984 Dr. Cohen began his dental practice in Beverly Hills.

Dr. Cohen’s deep compassion for people spawned his interest in helping patients who are fearful of dentistry. The result was the creation of the Dental Sedation Center and the treatment of countless patients who had avoided going to the dentist for years. His humanitarian nature is also demonstrated through his volunteer efforts for the national Give Back A Smile program, where he donates free cosmetic dental services to victims of domestic violence. In addition, Dr. Cohen is the Battalion 9 Coordinator for the LA Fire Department’s Community Emergency Response Team. The Emergency Response Team trains citizens how to respond to disaster scenario such as an earthquake.

While Dr. Cohen’s focus is helping fearful patients, his talents don’t end there. He is also a visionary in the ever changing world of cosmetic dentistry, where he combines state-​of-​the-​art technology with his special approach to patient care. In addition, he has extensive experience in dental implant procedures, having placed more than 2500 implants in the past two years. I had a wonderful first experience with Dr. Cohen and his staff. This was my first time visiting the dentist in a couple years and first time seeing someone out here in California. The atmosphere was welcoming as well as the incredibly professional staff. My visit to the dentist was for a chipped tooth. I had a sealant covering the chipped area for a few years and it finally saw its last day. Dr. Cohen was quick with his work on my tooth and made the procedure virtually painless for me. I couldn’t be any happier with my results. Its like I never even broke my tooth in the first place. Thank you so much Dr. Cohen! I think I found my new dentist. I’ll be back soon!

I have pretty easy teeth, but my dad’s a dentist, so I also have pretty high standards. I like coming to Dr. Cohen for a few reasons: appointments are always on time, Dr. Cohen is easy to talk to, his office manager always bills my insurance company for reimbursement to me quickly, and HE does the cleanings! There are very few places left like this. And, when I had to get my wisdom teeth out, Dr. Cohen referred me to a great surgeon, Dr. Galen. Also, just after we were married my husband chipped a molar. Without ever seeing my husband before this, Dr. Cohen squeezed my husband in for an emergency appointment. It turns out the chip was from an old cavity that my husband’s previous dentist didn’t see. Dr. Cohen fixed my husband up and the tooth looks great and it’s been issue-​less for over a year and counting! Needless to say we both go to Dr. Cohen now.

I pre-​paid Dr Cohen/​Sam Sherif in Thousand Oaks CA $ 26,999.00 for a dental procedure. What I found when I arrived was clearly not right. I would have run as fast as I can away but I was given sedation when picked up at the airport. The person providing sedation is unlicensed in any way. There was a 17 year old kid in the room. They were all dressed in street clothes. I canceled further treatment in Aug 2013. They refuse to refund $ 13,000.00.
If you have experience a similiar issue please contact me as the Attorney General will address this when they have a record of more than 1 complaint.

Been seeing Dr. Cohen for many many years now. He takes his time to listen to any problems you complain of and his staff is always friendly. I’ve never felt rushed out of the chair. He’s never suggested work that didn’t need to be done. His jokes are corny but I love ‘em :) I will continue to see Dr. Cohen for as long as he is in business.

Really great. I’ve never been left to wait a long time, never feel rushed out of there, and always get great service. I’ll admit, I’m a pretty easy patient (no cavities, no real issues yet), but I’ve been really happy thus far.
Dr. Cohen does most of the work himself (as opposed to dentists who let their hygienists do all the work and then just poke around at the last minute), and is thorough and personable. Highly recommended!

I’ve been using Dr. Cohen for years. Admittedly, I’m not an easy patient. I’ve had issues with my mouth my entire life.
He’s performed both oral surgery and general dentistry on me. The everyday stuff like check-​ups, cleanings and X-​rays… has been a breeze. I had some complications with the surgical aspects of my care but he handled those like a rock star.
He’s been personable, professional and attentive to my needs as a patient. I also like his hygienist and receptionists and his office is nice.

Dr. Cohen is very gentle, takes fearful /​difficult patients and really helps (I have panic attacks when I hear a drill). The price he gives you is what you pay! & when I broke a molar Dr. Cohen and staff took me in & made it the least stressful possible. My mouth was a mess, I had not seen a dentist in 10 years-​except for emergency fixes. Dr. Cohen fixed my mouth, saved my teeth and gums! Thank you Dr. Cohen ;)
P. S. Anyone who needs a great dentist, who has less than perfect teeth– go see Dr. Cohen. He & his staff are Awesome!

Dr Cohen’s response is an absolute lie which I find outrageous and disturbing. There was absolutely no refund and there was absolutely no consideration. Up until this posting by him — I never heard a single word response to my requests for assistance. The last time I saw him or heard from him was when he walked me down the hall to another dentist’s office.
More disturbing, when I was alerted that Dr Cohen wrote a response here, I immediately contacted him to let him know that his posting was false and that he never took care of me. He responded that he thought he did but would correct his posting. I took that opportunity to resend copies of the bills and request for assistance that I had previously sent… And here again over a month later not a word from Dr Cohen, nor a correction to his incorrect posting.
I should also mention that the single implant that Dr Cohen performed needs to be removed and replaced by an oral surgeon. My new dentist warned me that this would need to be done a few years ago and now I find out from the surgeon that there was probably an issue with it front the original install.
Add to that a close friend who had several implants put in… Had several fall out and the last needed to be removed by an oral surgeon.
At this point I want nothing from Dr Cohen. I would not return if his work were free. However, I will share the truth… Oh, and the comment about changing my life is absurd and arrogant.

I woke up a few hours ago, after the nap I took when I got home from Dr. Cohen’s office. I’m one of those people who was petrified of the dentist. I met Dr. Cohen by fluke and when he told me he’s a dentist, I talked to him about how I have avoided going to the dentist for years. He told me he specialized in sedation dentistry. I knew about sedation dentistry, but I only knew about IV sedation or general anesthetic. I didn’t realize they now have pills you can take and basically have no awareness of what is going on while you are at the dentist. The other thing I didn’t realize is that if you get an infection in your mouth, it can go to your heart and cause a hole in your heart. Yikes!
I had a tooth that had almost nothing left of it and I knew it was about to get infected. Dr. Cohen, rebuilt the tooth and put a crown on it. It’s so amazing to feel such a solid tooth in my mouth. I was always having to chew on the other side of my mouth. It will be so nice to just chew and not think about it.
Dr. Cohen did an AMAZING job and now I am going to go and get all the rest of my work done. After 20 years of not going to the dentist, I am so thankful I met Dr. Cohen. I believe everything happens for a reason. So I guess the universe thought I’d better get my teeth fixed. LOL. Thank you God. Thank you Dr. Cohen.

Dr. Cohen has been my dentist for many years and that’s for a reason… he’s the best! I’ve referred a couple of people and they love him as well. My teeth always look and feel great when i leave. If i were to get any type of cosmetic dentistry done, there’s no one else i’d choose. Dr. Cohen does fantastic work and is very professional, yet super personable. His staff is the friendliest… and Elvie, his assistant, is an absolute delight! Love her! If you’re looking for an honest, dentist who does great work with a fantastic staff, then this is your guy. I went to Dr. Cohen a year ago for a check up with no mouth pain. I was told I needed 5 teeth worked on– crowns and partial crowns. Shortly (about a week) after prepping the teeth and removing old fillings 2 of these teeth got infected and needed root canals– VERY PAINFUL and expensive. I noticed quickly after all the work was finally done that my teeth now caught food really bad. way worse then before I went to Dr. Cohen. I have to floss all the time and there is often an uncomfortable feeling of food in my teeth. I will say I have had a lot of work done on my mouth and some really bad experiences with dentists. I am not a fan of bad reviews but I do really appreciate Unilocal and I wanted to share my story– it is possible that the work was needed and saved me future pain and I would have let it go except just 2 days ago I was flossing my teeth and one of the partial crowns popped out and landed on the floor! So that is a lot of bad luck with one dentist experience. or bad dentistry. I went to another dentist to fix my tooth this time.
