Low and behold I got a phone call from Rosonda from Dr. Davis office. Rosonda was very pleasant and schedule my appointment for Thursday. I was unable to keep that appointment. I called to reschedule for Friday. The wonderful Rosonda answered and was more than happy to book my appointment for Friday. Dr Davis was pleasant and answered all my questions and concerns. I’m so pleased with my new doctor, and staff.

she is thorough, innovative and thinks outside the box… I am so much healthier now that I am in her care.

Updated review, Finally got paid– thankfully. Still annoying to think that if I hadn’t harassed the situation to death I never would have gotten the reimbursement.

I am giving her 1 star as that is the lowest you are not able to give someone NO stars. I have tried to make several appointments with this doctor and each time something has come up that she is unable to keep her schedule. My first attempt at an appointment I received a phone call to cancel however her office left NO message. Thankfully I had called that morning to confirm the appointment. My second attempt at an appointment I was stepping off the elevator when I received the call that she wasn’t even in the country.
It appears that this doctors only concern is herself and more than likely her wallet and she doesn’t care about her patients or providing quality care. If you are even considering seeing this doctor STOP!

This is an update to my previous review (below). My second visit with Dr. Davis proved to be a much more smooth experience. I came prepared with exact change for my co-​pay and extra cash for parking (that I didn’t need because I found a meter… that takes credit cards). It turns out that Dr. Davis had cancelled my previous appt. because she was ill. So far, everyone of the staff has been super friendly, even when I call.
I might come back to update this review as I have a follow-​up appointment, but for now… I liked Dr. Davis, she listened well and ordered my a few tests that I asked for while keeping in mind what my insurance may or many not cover. The staff were all friendly. A few things that weren’t so great… The office only takes cash… and only exact change. That is super inconvenient as I never carry cash. I had to use the ATM machine in the lobby which charged me a fee, then I had to purchase something to get exact change. My co-​pay is only $ 15, but when you factor in parking, ATM fees, and making a purchase to obtain exact change, then my Dr’s visit becomes a bit pricey. It’s the year 2014… I expect convenience and the use of technology (pay pal, square, whathaveyou). Also I was supposed to have my follow-​up appointment last Friday and I got a voicemail late Thursday afternoon saying that the Dr. would not be in on Friday and that I would have to reschedule. I’ve never experienced that before and it’s, again, inconvenient. Also, since I’m waiting for test results (for something potentially serious?) waiting longer than I had anticipated is cause for added stress.

Today was my first visit. And despite all the negative reviews my visit was perfect. The front staff was friendly and informative. The nurse was exceptional! Excellent bedside manners. Dr. Davis took her time with me and answered all my questions and concerns. Could not have had a better experience.

Honestly, Dr. Davis was great until she wasn’t. She seems to genuinely care, but doesn’t always give the best advice. My biggest problem with her was her staff. They don’t seem to know anything. I have never dealt with a more unprofessional group of doctor’s staff.

I switched insurance and was assigned Dr. Davis as my primary care physician. I’m not gonna lie, I was apprehensive about it when I saw so many negative reviews. I’m not sure if maybe things have changed as a result of the reviews, or if I had lowered expectations, but I am more than pleased to have her as my doctor. She took the time to listen to what I needed. Dr. Davis is knowledgeable, seems to genuinely care, and she was mindful of costs and suggested some alternatives to medications I was taking. She was thorough with the medical report I needed to have completed for a visa application. The receptionist and staff members have been good about returning my calls and following up on things, which surprised me after all that I had read.
The only two things that I would agree with others on here as being (mildly) inconvenient are:
–credit cards are not accepted
–she doesn’t do annual paps
Overall, I’d have to say I’m happy with having her as my doctor.

I was able to get in with an appointment this morning. The staff was VERY nice. The nurse, who’s name I wish I got, was WONDERFUL. She was very good at making me feel at ease. As a new patient you don’t know what to expect and she made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Davis was great. She answered my questions and made me feel welcomed. She shown concern for my issues and gave advice to improve my health.

Dr Pamela Davis is a Dr you should avoid. When I first went to her she ordered a comprehensive work up on me I was impressed. She ordered consultations with several specialist I thought ok she knows her stuff. But office staff is clueless the order for a podiatrist they put in for dermatologist, being a retired nurse I caught the mistake but it took her staff a month before they got it right. I overlooked it because everyone makes a mistake every now and then. That wasn’t the only mistake they made. I was ordered to see a cardiologist they sent a request to his office with a diagnosis of bronco-​spasm of course the cardiologists office wouldn’t see me said I needed to see a pulmonary doctor wasted another 3 – 4 weeks straightening the matter out. After finally seeing the correct doctor he admitted me into hospital for a cardiac work up which thank GOD came out negative, but during my stay in the hospital my blood pressure meds were changed 3 days later after going home I had a delayed allergic reaction one side of my throat swelled I called dr Davis office to be seen, a young man called back with an appt the next day. When I got to the office her incompetent staff said I had no appt and would not allow me to see the DR being a nurse and having a history of delayed reaction I treated myself. Then after being diagnosed with osteoporosis after having had a bone density test asked the DR several times to see results without getting anywhere I start having side effects from osteoporosis meds I told dr Davis her response was oh you can stop taking it your second test showed improvement you don’t need it anymore only thing is I never had a second bone density test. The straw that broke the camels back was and acute. Pain episode I had over Thanksgiving Holiday I have history of disc disease because of it I am disabled I called her at least 10 times twice on the emergency line she never had the decency to call me back and her staff just continually gave me the run around. And to make matters worse when I first I was taking 3 blood pressure meds daily now I’m taking 7 when I would go there in pain from my back of course your blood pressure is up she just kept adding more blood pressure meds. Now I have to get someone to wean me off all this carp. .She’s uncaring and dangerous stay away from her.

I wish I looked at the reviews before even attempting to make an appointment but she came referred from a friend of mine. I didn’t even have the «pleasure» of meeting the doctor which seems to actually be a good thing after reading the other reviews.
I called and made a 9am appointment for a physical. I arrived a little early anticipating the need to fill out new patient forms. When I arrived another patient was there and informed me no one from the reception area was in yet and she also had a 9:15am appointment. I found this strange since any professional business would have someone to greet patients/​clients/​etc at the very least ten minutes before appointments start.
The other patient and I continued to wait and at about 9:15 another patient arrived and she said she had been calling to tell them she was running a few minutes late, an we informed her we had yet to see ANYONE. Finally a little before 9:30 a girl walks in from the front door, with absolutely NO apology for being so late and says she’ll be with us in a minute and had an attitude like we should just be happy she was there. Wow! She then disappears in the back somewhere until the patient who was running late calls through the front glass minutes later to let her know she’s gotta be at work by a certain time and needs to be seen soon. Uh… hello. Join the club. We all have lives.
The front desk girl is finally at the front desk and calls me over to fill out new patient forms. They call the other 2 patients to the back while I’m filling out the forms. While I’m scribbling away, another girl arrives (front desk girl #2), and heads back to gab with front desk girl #1 about why she is late and I can hear them laughing and chatting about boyfriends, busses running late, etc. I walk the forms up to them and they don’t even acknowledge me so I leave the forms there.
…I continue to wait… and wait… and wait. Mind you they were having the time of their morning chatting away without any update to me or reassurance that I would be seen soon. At 9:45am I go up to the front and tell them I need to leave because I am seeing a client in the Palisades at 11am, and it was pretty obvious I wouldn’t make it in time. What do I get? Blank stares from both of them. Then I tell them I will reschedule, (the ONLY reason I even rescheduled was because #1 my friend referred me to her and #2, I have concerns that I wanted a doctors opinion asap). We schedule an 8am for the following Thursday.
I asked my friend who is a patient of Pamela Davis for her email so I could complain to her directly about the apathetic attitude and lack of professionalism from her front staff. I sent her an email with no reply for days, then finally a notification saying the email bounced back.
Fast forward to the following Monday (today), I get a call and message from some guy who sounded young and not savvy with any type of phone communication skills telling me they need to reschedule my Thursday appointment. I call back right away and tell him, I am unable to reschedule. I have already taken off work, AGAIN, and am still disappointed with the unprofessionalism of my last attempt. He was just silent on the phone. So I said, «cancel my appointment and I will find another doctor with more professional staff and behavior», and then I hung up.
I can NOT wrap my head around the way this «business» operates. I own my own business with employees and clients and would be appalled of anyone was treated the way I was. Lack of common courtesy, basic professionalism, communication, respect for others time… The list can go on. I will NEVER EVER try to see this doctor. I don’t even know how my friend could recommend her.
I wish I could leave ZERO stars

It pains me to write this review as I like Dr. Davis and feel that she could be a great doctor. She has been my primary for several years now. I selected Dr. Davis because I wanted an African-​American physician. Given the matrix that is the insurance industry it was a difficult task finding a African-​American physician. I read the reviews I found on the internet and was a little concerned but since I had no need for an OBGYN I was willing to settle. The lesson I learned was that one should never settle when it comes to your healthcare. The location and trappings have all the outward appearance of a professional operation, unfortunately it is just an appearance.
Every unfavorable reviewer prior to this is absolutely spot on. After not being able to get in contact with the doctor for several weeks to get some follow up on the x-​rays for walking pneumonia she diagnosed me with, I felt so ill that I had to take a day off of work to see her. I do not take days off from work. I missed the appointment by a few minutes and was told that the new policy was that I had to reschedule. I had no confidence that either receptionist were good at their job so I told her I’m not coming back and there was no need to reschedule. The lack of reaction I received from my pronouncement made it seem like people getting fed up with the operation was a daily occurrence. Just to highlight an example of all the years of poor communication, I’m still waiting to get the referral from my last visit, so being told that I had to reschedule made it clear to me that I needed to change physicians. Having left messages in the weeks prior and not receiving any response, it was no surprise that when I did get there one of the receptionist was chit chatting with some guy and surfing Facebook pictures.
I have had years of issues with the operation and I was more than willing to give it a pass, but if you diagnose someone with pneumonia an cannot follow-​up after multiple calls some may think that boarders on malpractice. Please avoid Dr. Davis

Heaven to betsy! I show up for my first meeting and they have me fill out a bunch of paper work and then tell me that the dr. isn’t taking any calls today… and I’m in the office.
Okay, no problem, so I schedule for next week and call a day in advance to confirm. The girl on the phone tells me the receptionist isn’t in and they’ll call me back with a confirmation… an hour before my appointment and still no call.
I’ve been told Dr. Davis is good at her job– hopefully someone tells her to evaluate her receptionist staff.

Re-​located to the LA area and was assigned Dr. Davis from my insurance. Can’t comment much on her as a doctor, since she only gave me about 1 minute of her time on my first, introductory appointment. I think she spoke about 10 words to me, quietly and timidly. It was confusing.
Cons:
–Receptionist staff is less than accommodating
–Wait time, even with an appointment, is longer than the actual doctor visit
–She doesn’t do annual exams
–She requires an additional appointment just to give blood work results– even if the results are «everything is normal.» Sounds like a money trap to me. Hello, we all have jobs. Talk about inconvenient.
–Parking is outrageously expensive and of course, they do not validate
–Did not offer choices when referring to the OBGYN
I’m switching doctors as soon as I can. Anyone have someone they recommend?

Dr. Pam Davis has been my primary physician for the las two years and I think she’s an amazing doctor and a stellar human being. She is very knowledgeable about Eastern and Alternative medicines as well as Western medicine and therefore, she is the perfect doctor for me. I don’t usually like to go to «western» doctors because I don’t feel understood however Dr. Davis listens to my needs and uses her vast knowledge. intuition, and experience to provide me with the best solution that is sensitive to my «alternative» needs.
She recommended doctors when I had orthopedic issues out of her sphere of expertise and was generous with her explanations and assessments of my issues. I was always treated with respect and in a timely manner by her office staff and I have nothing but rave reviews for her open heart and comforting healing style.

I’ve lived in LA for 12 years, and I’ve seen my share of good and bad doctors. Some visits I’m trying to burn from my memory.
Dr. Davis has been my doctor for over 5 years now.
Dr. Davis is thorough, and most importantly, she LISTENS. In the 20 minutes she’s with you, you are her only patient. She cares about you and genuinely wants to make you better.
This is essential.
If you come in for your sore throat, she’ll examine your throat and not try to get you to get extra exams, extra tests, or any more thing that costs more money.
I came in in the Fall with what i thought was a cold, but it ended up being a severe throat infection. She was funny «that throat is ANGRY kind of red» and she prescribed an affordable prescription that helped me get good as new.
I’ve had her be late a few times (maybe 1 times out of 5 visits) on occasion, but in this town everyone’s late, so I don’t hold that against her.
She is young – late 30’s/early 40’s – which as a 30 y/​o woman I like. She will refer you to the best doctor, whether or not male or female (in response to Kanani’s review).
Please recognize that the 1* reviews are from like 2 years ago, and I can tell you that the Doctor is MUCH better today than she was then – 2 more years of experience as you can imagine.

This is absolutely the worst doctor I have ever seen! After spending an entire day trying to find a primary care doctor that accepted my insurance (United Healthcare), Dr. Davis was the only one I could find that was accepting new patients, which is why I went to her. I made an appointment to see her for a routine physical exam. When I arrived to the office, the assistant was incredibly rude to me, which I was very surprised by as I had never encountered that in any doctor’s office.
The doctor herself seemed very nice during the exam, but her attention and follow up after my exam were horrendous. I had talked to her about some shoulder pain I was having, so she sent me to get some X-​rays and said that we would discuss the results afterwards to determine if I needed to get an MRI or not. She also ordered x-​rays to check my scoliosis, which we were also supposed to discuss once she had the results. I never heard from the doctor with my results, so I proceeded to call her, SIX times over the course of 3 weeks, leaving messages each time and she never called me back. I have never, ever NOT had a doctor call me back, even after 1 call, but after SIX calls– I was absolutely flabbergasted. After I called back the sixth time and was exasperated with the assistant, she finally got the doctor to call me back.
I then asked the doctor if she could send me the results of my bloodwork for my records. When I received the results in the mail, there was the STD screening and allergy test that she had ordered, but there was none of the basic physical labwork, such as cholesterol, glucose, etc. All of the stuff that every other primary care has always done for me. So I called the office again and asked why the doctor didn’t order those tests for a physical. The assistant told me that it was not a physical, that I had been there to discuss shoulder pain and other stuff. I immediately told her that although those were ADDITIONAL items that I wanted to discuss during my PHYSICAL, that I had scheduled the appointment as my YEARLY PHYSICAL EXAM. She went back into the notes and saw that the original appointment had been noted as a «physical exam». Despite that, the doctor failed to order the standard tests that always come with a physical exam. So now I have jumped thru all of these hoops, had to call this doctor back a million times and I still don’t have what I need. And now I still have to go back and get my routine bloodwork, which at this point I’m not sure will be covered by my insurance, since they ALREADY did all this other blood work. I can assure you I will NOT be going back to this doctor for this blood work or anything else.
I have had primary care physicians for years in both Boston and Washington, DC and I’ve never, ever had this problem. They’ve always ordered the routine tests, and have known what those were, and the doctors have always called me with the results of any work. And they’ve always returned my calls, without exception. I am absolutely appaulled at the horrendous service and care that I received from this doctor and I strongly advise against visiting this doctor.
Is this what health care has come to in this country? This is disgraceful!

Dr. Pamela Davis is part of the Prospect Health Source Medical Group and I do not recommend her. I had an 11 AM appointment (first-​time) and arrived 10 minutes early to fill out the obligatory paperwork. When I was finally called into the back office (45 minutes after my scheduled appointment) the nurse measured by weight and blood pressure and then sends me back to the waiting room?! Finally, 55 minutes after my scheduled appointment, I get called back and 5 minutes after Dr Davis comes in with no apology.
She is young and female — which usually I would love since I am the same, but after coming in with no apology she was down a notch in my book. Then she proceeded to tell me she does not do women’s annual exams?! This is the first general practitioner I have ever come across to not to such a routine exam that is practically in the job description of a family doctor. I told her «that’s convenient — for you.» And then she gave me a referral to a male OBGYN — perfect! She spoke with little to no confidence on drug side effects and had no presence or personality worth mention.
