First off, let me say, working with lawyers is not something I often do, if not at all. Going into this office based on only the great reviews I reviewed here on Unilocal,and also as a natural born skeptic, I could only have high hopes.
Let me say now, that my experience rose far beyond my expectations. I went in and was greeted by Jenn Bushnell, who was sparky and to the point. No dabbling around the subject. She helped dissect my situation quickly, and then set up an appointment with somebody who could help. His name, Cole.
Note: You will likely pay for a consultation. This is common almost everywhere and I thought it worth nothing since some people seem to think that counsel at this level should come free of charge. Know that I never felt hoodwinked or taken advantage of. Personally, if a lawyer has a bunch of time for free consultations, I personally would throw down a yellow flag in worry. Just know that your money will be worth it, either in consultation, or in preparation of a greater plan to help you formulate and win your case. This firm is also considerate of the financial situations of individuals.
So I go to my one hour consultation with Cole Ettman. He is kind, energetic, and seems to know the value of servitude. I can say that he went far beyond my expectations and even worked with me to formulate a more appropriate financial plan to pay for services rendered. What really invigorated me was his keen sense of focus and display of kindness at the same time. This is a firm that gets to the point very quick and then takes their time sifting through the cracks while also educating you in the process. I can go on forever, but just know it was an experience that rose far beyond my expectations in so many ways.
Cole actually told me then and there that he may be on vacation around the time they would set up a date for court. I said okay, not knowing who I would get, but had faith that my great experience so far would carry on into the next phase of our dealings.
I either got lucky, or perhaps luck has nothing to do with it. From this point I worked with Lindsay Levanthal who did everything from return my calls with lightning fast efficiency, to appearing in front of the judge with me to handle my case. Excellent experience.
So to sum things up, we won. Great experience overall from beginning to finish. Great communication the whole way through. Yes, it will cost you money, but it seems not nearly as much as many other places I called and this place knows how to make the most out of the time you pay for, and, doesn’t stiff you on the minutes or seconds if you go over in say, a consultation. No surprise charges. If you are looking for representation, are a born skeptic like me, or even not, I can’t promise you anything but will say my experience with Levine & Blit changed my ignorant perspective of law firms and lawyers in general. I felt like I was a part of their team during the process.
So, thank you Jenn Bushnell, Cole Ettman, and Lindsay Levanthal. You were all so great and helpful throughout the process! It didn’t stop there. everyone in this office seemed great! Teamwork seems to exist here. Empathy seems to exist here. A winning attitude seems to exist here. It was a refreshing experience and I would not hesitate to call back in the future for counsel. Thank you!

Great Firm! They took my case on contingency, and it was a small case, Attorney Jinny did an awesome job with the suit.
The consulting fee was worth it as well. People must understand that you must have all your documentation and facts, ready for someone to review and understand the situation.
honestly, I had called 5 firms, and they turned me away without even speaking to me.
but Levine and Bilt took the time to understand review my case, and go forward.
BIG MISTAKE on the other 5 firms that didn’t want to deal with me. They lost out!

Levine & Blit is a great firm. They took my case on contingency (no up front fees) on a rather small case. I had 3 different people working on my case. They did plenty of digging & when all was said & done, they came up with a number over triple what I thought I was owed between unpaid commission & overtime. We were able to settle outside of court for a substantially higher amount than I had expected. Everyone was respectful, upfront, & honest with me throughout the entire process. I would recommend this firm to anyone who needs help & will definitely be calling them if I need help in the future.

I had the same experience as the review written by Edgar.
The receptionist Danielle quickly asks for your credit card $ 260 phone consult fee. I paid the fee and then I cancelled the appointment and was told the money would go into a client fund for me. I called back 2 months later and the receptionist said there was no record of a payment and I had to call my bank to get the transaction number, it was also fortunate that I found my receipt.
The $ 260 phone consult result was they do not do the type of case I had; what the attorney told me was what a free initial consult at another firm would tell a prospective client.

Make sure you have a strong case before you go to these guys. Starting from the receptionist she will trick you in stating that their attorneys are superb and they’ll move a mountain for you and quickly ask for your credit card number to process their $ 260 which should cover them contacting your employer and fighting for your specific situation, whether it is termination, layoff, dispute, etc.
Upon visiting their office, they will now tell you that in order for you to actually have them on a retainer, it will cost you at least another $ 1,600 to have a generous split of recovered damages of ³⁰⁄₇₀. or pay more down payment for a better split 40/​60, Pay nothing and go with 50÷50… This is a type of a firm where they get your money upfront, get you all gung-​ho and excited at first, then you have to chase them and stay on top of them since they’re burried with better cases, and if your circumstances are not severe enough, you fall to the bottom of the list. …Trust me on this, ask a lot of questions before you pay them a single cent.

These folks are great and extremely professional! My father is at wits with his company and not knowing what to do, I decided to look for a top law firm with experience in this field of the law. I called in and spoke to Jennifer who was amazing. She allowed me to share the situation with her to further guide me. After about 20 mins, she felt it was a great idea to speak to a lawyer. That’s exactly what we did. Next morning, we were with Vince and boy did he put my father at ease. As someone mentioned about great law firms come at a price in LA, but it is well worth it. We will always be using and recommending this law firm! Very refreshing to get this type professionalism.

Cole and his team were incredible to work with, very sympathetic, and accommodating considering the nature of my case and finacial position at the time. If you have faced discrimination or retaliation from your employer, then contact these guys! They increased my settlement from one weeks pay to my entire time with the company I had worked for.
I am so impressed, that I have recommended friends dealing with simialar situations and I have a feeling this firm is going to be feared by companies who wrong or hurt their employees.

I found myself in a place where I needed legal assistance. To find the right firm in itself can be daunting. From the first phone call I found Levine & Blit to be 5 Star! I was upset and out of sorts when I phoned, Jennifer was informative and professional. Cole, Erin and Alia took control and completed my case in an amazingly timely manner. Erin took my small commission case on at a very fair rate and addressed my former employer. I had a pretty dire legal situation with a company that I used to work for. Levine and Blit was recommended to me through a friend, and I am so happy I took their advice!
I was misclassified as an independent contractor at the company, and as a result, didn’t qualify for unemployment when I was laid off. Cole went with me to Inglewood to appeal the decision, and we won! I was elated! He told me exactly what documents to bring, and was very clear, helpful, and communicative with me through the whole process. He even sat down with me for two hours before the hearing and we went over all the paper work. I know that without his help, I probably wouldn’t have won the appeal.
Erin is helping me with the other aspects of the lawsuit, and I have been continuously impressed by her professionalism and knowledge of the law. Cole, Erin, and Elaine are amazing at what they do. I have worked with them before and they are truly professionals who get unbelievable results for their clients. They know the law and use it to discover all claims available to a client and aggressively pursue those claims for the maximum settlement available. Also — i think the reviewer below interacted with the New York office; this review is for Los Angeles. Everyone knows top legal help is expensive but the L.A. office works hard to come up with creative solutions through blended contingencies and payment schedules from my experience.
