Business Owner

Melinda Chan, PA-​C, is a nationally board-​certified physician assistant and is licensed by the California Physician Assistant Committee. She graduated from Midwestern University — Glendale in 2005 with a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies. During her 18 weeks of elective rotations, she concentrated on Cosmetic Dermatology and Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. She has worked in the aesthetics industry ever since.

Melinda has extensive training in many forms of injectables including Botox®, Juvéderm®, Radiesse®, Dysport®, Restylane®, and Perlane®. Her knowledge also spans a wide variety of laser treatments including laser hair removal, IPL photofacials, fractional resurfacing, vein and pigmentation removal, ultrasound and radiofrequency procedures for skin tightening, and acne treatments. In addition to cosmetic procedures, Melinda is also experienced in skincare for aging, damaged, and acneic skin.

I had originally thought I was going to get an IPL for my cystic acne. But after meeting with Melinda and discussing my acne history, she actually convinced me not to get any procedures done by her and to go talk to a dermatologist first. She was very honest about how to treat my acne and how my skin type would affect her treatments. She did not try to sell me on anything and even offered to answer any questions I had after seeing a dermatologist. She was very nice and knowledgable.

Just came back from my first visit with Melinda. This was by far the best cosmetics consultation I’ve ever had. There was no waiting, the staff was pleasant and personable, the facilities were beautiful, Melinda gave me her complete undivided attention, she was very friendly and professional, she explained everything to me thoroughly and in a straight forward way I understood, and most surprisingly she did not try to up-​sell or pressure me to purchase any products or procedures. I went ahead and got the botox, and I will give an update in a few weeks on the results, but I was amazed that it was the most comfortable, painless botox procedure I’ve ever received. I am extremely pleased with the entire experience and hope to be a long time patient. :)

As the other Unilocalers have stated, Melinda IS wonderful! While researching IPL to get rid of sun damage from my teen years and 20s, I came across LA Skin Aesthetics on Unilocal.I chose 3 places with high reviews but called this place first due to their package deals. The prices were slightly less than the 2 other clinics i was considering and the reviews were mostly 5 star so I called. Melinda returned my call within the hour and answered all my questions. I had planned to schedule a consultation first but she said I could do both a consultation and begin treatment on the same visit if I preferred! So I made my appointment and was very pleased with Melinda when I met her. She’s super friendly, explains everything, and I appreciate how quickly she responds to text messages. I purchased a 5 pack for IPL treatments and received a discount through a Unilocal deal. The treatment, itself was as Melinda described and went by very fast b/​c we were chatting. The next day, Melinda checked in with me to see how I was doing. I booked appointment #2 before I even left her office. After one treatment I noticed a difference. I saw the results approximately one week after treatment #1. And with each successive treatment, the darker spots are getting even lighter. I HIGHLY recommend Melinda if you are considering IPL treatment.

I was looking at all the places to go to for Botox in Beverly hills and after reading melinda’s reviews I decided to go to her and I don’t normally write reviews but she is simply the best. Her work is flawless, she’s so sweet and accommodating and so honest and trustworthy when it comes to what will look best, even if it means it will save you money which is such a rarity. I highly recommend her!!!

I so should have done this laser hair removal thing earlier in life! People love my smooth legs! «Oh my God they are so smooth», that’s what they often say to me instead of a simple «Hello». No lie (almost)! In short, they stay smooth pretty much all the time, the hairs do grow, but very slow and they are way thinner. For reference: I’m of a Jewish/​Middle-​Eastern origin, white skin, dark hair, my Dad is hairy as hell, and so am I (Thanks, Daddy!).
Melinda is very nice and accommodating, and those 6 two-​hour long sessions were basically a nice relaxation time that I enjoyed in the midst of weekday stress.
So if you’ve been considering laser hair removal or if you’re just hearing about it for the first time in your life — really just do it. You’ll enjoy life so much more!!!
The parking in the building is expensive, but if you go north on Robertson and turn left to those little side streets you’ll see 2 and 4 hour street parking. It’s a bit of a walk but you love fitness, don’t ya?!

Very pleased with the way my skin turned out after doing an IPL. I have done IPL in the past and I felt that the technician was more trained on how to approach individual cases. I did have slight line markings all over my forehead, which I found online was simply a consequence of the distance between the laser and the skin. It was a common side effect from the machine, but I did have to research this information on my own. Otherwise, happy with my appearance, as well as the professional and easy location.

I contacted Melinda on a Sunday for Botox. She was fantastic: She took the time to talk to me and explain everything she would be doing. I liked her focus and attention to detail. This level of customer service for a quick Botox job was a first for me. She was meticulous with a needle and I will only go to her from here on out. It’s great to find someone I can trust and has office hours that accommodate my busy work schedule. The parking in the building was super convenient. I was in and out.

I use Unilocal everyday, but don’t usually leave reviews… in this instance I had to! I searched and searched plastic surgeons and estheticians for feedback on their Botox and fillers. After countless hours and girlfriends trying to win me over to go to their doctors for my first injections I found Melinda. She made everything so incredibly easy from step 1 and she texts and has weekend and evening appointments which is a must with my busy schedule. Her consult was amazing, she actually told me to do less than I intended on doing-​not an up seller at all! After my procedure she has text with me countless times with my questions, AMAZING work and customer service-​need I say more? My Botox and fillers look flawless!!!

I’ve been to many places for both electrolysis and laser, but nothing compares. The prices are unbeatable, the facility is great, and the procedure is painless! Finally getting around to writing my review… I have been seeing Melinda for a little over 4 months for her photo facial and derma planning and I am so happy w the results! I have a lot of brown spots from pregnancy hormones and the facials plus retinoid she recommended are finally making a difference. I have seen other «trendy» derms for photo facials on the past and I can honestly say her laser is more up to date and less painful. Did a couple of peels for my acne. Did not help much and they were expensive. Melinda is super friendly and quickly responds to emails/​text and easy to make appointments. If you go there for the right thing, i believe she will be very helpful. For me, not much help for my acne.

I go to Melinda for facials and Botox, because she uses products and procedures that are really effective, yet do not leave you looking like a Real Housewife. She is down to earth, friendly and charming, and I never feel like she is trying to sell me anything. She is a physicians assistant, and very informed about the services she provides, which is particularly important for injectables. Her knowledge keeps me, and a few of my friends (cough, cough) looking well-​rested and fresh-​faced.
Her regular prices are good compared to other med spas, and she offers specials from time to time here, on Gilt, etc, which are usually great deals. If you «like» LA Skin Aesthetics on Facebook you might get lucky and catch a flash sale.
If you want treatments that really work and will leave you looking natural and pretty, go see Melinda!

I went to Melinda 2 weeks ago for my first ever botox treatment. She was very informative and patient. I got a little nervous/​scared during our consultation due to my fear of needles so she kindly left the room while I called my husband for a pep talk. Let’s just say I am the biggest needle phobic ever!!! But when my much anticipated wedding approached and that annoying line in the middle of my forehead began nesting a home for itself, I went straight to Melinda. Lots of my friends go to her for treatments, so I knew she was super trustworthy.

One word describes Melinda: AMAZING!
1) She’s super sweet, personable and make me feel at ease. She wasn’t pushy and didn’t rush me out the door like some other skincare spas.
2) The facility is very new, clean, and legit. Not one of those questionable places.
3) I had laser hair removal done and I literally fell asleep on the table.
4) She’s available until 10pm so you can go see her after work! Woohoo~
I trust her completely with my skin/​face and highly recommend her. If you’re going to see her, I just recommend you make an appointment with her beforehand!
