History

Established in 2006.

Dr. John Diaz is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with over 12 years of experience. He graduated medical school with the highest honors and awards. He was one of only approximately 30 students in the country to be accepted into an accelerated and integrated residency program in Plastic Surgery. After his residency, Dr. Diaz then completed an additional year of in depth training focused on cosmetic surgery only. Very few surgeons have this kind of advanced training.

Dr. Diaz is passionate about his work, and quickly made a name for himself after opening his private practice in Beverly Hills in 2006. He is the Vice President of the Los Angeles Society of Plastic Surgery, and has appeared in numerous national and international television programs and magazines. He has served as an expert on plastic surgery topics for various television programs and magazines including CNN, Dr. Drew’s Lifechanger’s HLN, People, Us Weekly and In Touch.

As far back as I can remember I’ve always wanted to be a doctor. As soon as I started medical school I knew I wanted to become a surgeon. I ultimately chose plastic surgery as my specialty because it is one of the few specialties that can help people feel better about themselves every day.

Whether someone is injured by an accident, needs reconstruction after a burn or cancer injury, or is just unhappy with an aspect of their appearance, being a plastic surgeon enables me to make an improvement in that person’s life. It is truly a privilege and an honor to help patients in this way every day.

I am dedicated to helping others and have been extensively involved with the Grossman Burn Centers. I also serve as a mentor for several high school, college and medical students. I am involved in several local and national service organizations.

When I am not working, I try to spend as much time with my family and friends as possible. My hobbies include running, skiing, and cooking.

I was very skeptical about having another breast revision due to my poor results from two well known board certified plastic surgeons. I just continued to get a reoccurring capsular contracture.
Dr. Diaz is the only surgeon that has cured my capsule. It has been over 5 months and my breast are still soft… WOW… I can’t believe he fixed me. Please note that I had 4 previous surgeries and the capsule would always come back within 3 months.
Dr. Diaz fixed my breast… He takes his time and takes pride in his work. Thank u Dr. Diaz!

I was beyond impressed with my experience with Dr. Diaz! I came to him in need of breast augmentation revision. Due to a horrible experience/​badly botched job with a previous Beverly Hills surgeon, I was very nervous and skeptical to go through the procedure a second time. Dr. Diaz is kind, professional, easy to talk to, conscientious, and it was extremely apparent that he cared deeply about the situation I was in. He was very straightforward with me, regarding the seriousness and level of difficulty involved in my revision surgery. He offered very thorough explanations and wanted to help me achieve the most natural results possible. He shows honesty, compassion and a vast amount of knowledge in Breast Surgery. He transformed my body, but more importantly, he has given me a new outlook on how I view myself. He is a true artist in every way. I am so amazed at his talent and expertise. I initially consulted with Dr. Diaz a few years ago when considering a lift. At that time, I was a D cup and didn’t commit to the procedure because of financial reasons. Fast forward a few years, I was a DDD cup and possibly bigger as I was spilling out of my bras. My back pain was worse, my shoulders hurt, posture was poor and I had indentations on my shoulders. I had consulted with kaiser last year and was approved for a reduction. After speaking to the doctor I did not feel comfortable. So I decided to consult with Dr. Diaz again. After my consultation with him, I knew he was the right person for my procedure. Two weeks later, my surgery was done and I couldn’t be happier. I’m two weeks post-​op and I know this decision was the right one. Dr. Diaz is such a professional. It is evident that he takes pride in his work and that he strives for perfection. He has the best bedside manners and genuinely cares about his patients. I love my results and I owe it all to him. I highly recommend Dr. Diaz to anyone considering any cosmetic procedure. Dr. Diaz is in a class of his own!

I came to Dr. Diaz in September 2015 after suffering complications from a previous surgery performed by another well-​known surgeon with over 100 Unilocal reviews. I regret not coming to Dr. Diaz for the initial surgery, but am very pleased with the way he was able to give me the excellent care that I needed.
Patient Care/​Communication
I’m not a person who normally needs to be coddled, but after having gone through a traumatic experience with my first surgery, I was in a lot of pain and felt very depressed. Needless to say, it was important that I found a surgeon who not only had the skills to help me achieve the right results, but one who could also patiently answer my never-​ending questions.
Dr. Diaz, Dr. Rahal, Nadia, Meghan, Tammy, Sarah, and Nurse Pam have been extremely attentive to my needs and are quick to respond to my questions. They are all very friendly, and I especially appreciate how much Nadia and Meghan worked with me on the front-​end to help me through financing options.
Actual Surgery
Dr. Diaz spent a lot of time talking to me about the risks related to surgical revisions. He ultimately recommended that I use an acellular dermal matrix this time around to help prevent complications from recurring.
I am very pleased with the final product! I surprisingly healed quickly and took certain medications to avoid recurring issues. Six months later, I am still very happy!
After Care
After care is JUST as important as the surgery itself. Other well-​known surgeons hardly spend time with you after the surgery. In fact, some surgeons aren’t even there with you when you wake up from anesthesia. Dr. Diaz stays there until the end and makes sure you’re feeling okay.
As far as follow-​up appointments go, my last doctor treated me like I was part of an assembly line. Dr. Diaz spends a great deal of time telling me what I should expect at different stages, and remains patient as I ask him a laundry list of questions.
In sum, I am very happy with my results from Dr. Diaz. I really wish I would have come to him the first time around so that I wouldn’t have had to deal with the pain, stress, and depression associated with the first surgery. I hope that after reading this essay, you will have learned from my mistakes and go to Dr. Diaz first!
General Advice
1. Don’t be afraid to pay a consultation fee when shopping for doctors. I was initially discouraged by these fees when I went shopping around for my first surgery; but unfortunately, I ended up spending a lot more money in the long run because it wasn’t done right the first time around.
2. Look on other websites for reviews. Join surgery forums to see all kinds of discussions regarding surgeries and revisions.
3. There is free 2-​hour parking next to Rite-​Aid on Bedford Drive!

Dr. Diaz is by far the BEST for your surgical needs to look and feel Beautiful & Confident! From the minute I walked in I was greeted with a friendly staff throughout the office! Always very professional & attentive! Dr. Diaz made me feel comfortable and at ease during the consultation, answering any & all questions and concerns I had regarding surgery (breast augmentation). His knowledge, experience and confidence in being the BEST at what he does truly shows. The technology in his office which helps you to see what your results could look like in your body was a HUGE factor in helping me decide the right size and options for my body. Dr. John Diaz is absolutely amazing!!! I have gotten two procedures done with him (breast augmentation and rhinoplasty) and they have been the best decisions of my life. He went above and beyond from my expectations. It has been 3 years from my breast augmentation and I couldn’t be happier with them, what I really like about him is that he is a complete realist !!! It was my first surgery ever and I was a little unsure of what I wanted but he was so honest and had suggestions on what size i should get and he was sooooo right they’re just so perfect for my petite body. As far as my rhinoplasty it has only been one month but even now I love my nose soooooo much!!! He is a true artist !!! I recommend him 110% !!! If I could give him 6 stars I definitely would ! And btw he is full of energy, great guy!!!
P.S the staff here is sooooo kind and very welcoming! Love love love!!!

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA
I’m an over 40 guy who needed to correct a breathing issue with septum surgery. Eventually I decided that since I need to do this, I might as well come out of it looking better.
Having never had plastic surgery before, I went on a mission to thoroughly research before and after photos on the web sites of it seamed like every plastic surgeon in the LA area. This is how I discovered Dr Diaz. His results stood out because the after photos didn’t resemble nose jobs, they looked completely natural That’s how I wanted my «new» nose to look, so I decided to have a consultation.
From the consultation through the surgery a couple months later, I was never disappointed. The office staff was very caring and personal, while at the same time very professional and organized. Dr Diaz answered every question as if I was the only patient in the office. He didn’t rush me through the consultation, computer «designed» a more elegant version of my nose, and completely informed me about what to expect.
As for the result… I immediately knew that selecting Dr Diaz was right up there with the best decisions I ever made! My nose looks amazing. Still my nose, just much better looking! The most amazing part is the literally no one (other than those I told about it) could tell I had plastic surgery.
I couldn’t be happier and recommend Dr Diaz without hesitation.

I had my rhinoplasty done with Dr. Diaz about a week ago, and I have never had such an incredible experience with a doctor and staff, before, during, and after the surgery.
His patient coordinator Nadia is amazing! I must have sent her twenty emails before my surgery with dumb questions and thoughts and she always answered back immediately and made me feel like I was genuinely important to her and to the Doctor.
Dr. Diaz himself is more than I had ever expected. He’s funny and skilled and confident and made sure I knew exactly what he was going to do with my nose, as well as made sure my expectations were realistic. My nose turned out more beautiful than I ever expected-​he truly has an artist’s eye, and a gentle hand. The whole procedure from beginning to end was practically painless and the bruising was so minimal it was almost as if it wasn’t there at all. He’s a true artist, and a wonderful surgeon.
Their anesthesiologist was PERFECTION. His name started with an «M»…if I can figure it out I’ll come back and update this. My veins are almost impossible to put an IV in. Every time I’ve had to get an IV the anesthesiologists blow the veins-​often to the point that they have to give up and move to the other arm or my hands. This doctor put it in in seconds, on the first try, and used the PERFECT amount of anesthesia that even when I woke up I was pain free but not at all groggy or sick feeling. I wish I could pack him in my suitcase and bring him with me whenever I need an IV put in, seriously.
Overall, the office is beautiful, the staff is amazing, Dr. Diaz and is smart and skilled as he is handsome, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience, or a more beautiful nose! Thank you!

I found Dr. Diaz on RealSelf and made an appointment after reading so many outstanding reviews. Needless to say, he’s the real deal! I saw him for a consultation (for a procedure I wasn’t even planning on having anytime soon) but after meeting him I scheduled it right away. His office is run by very friendly, smart and lovely women. I was very happy with the entire experience. I didn’t expect the experience to be so easy, but it was!
Additionally, he has an awesome Aesthetician, Lorne-​Nicole, who works with him doing Hydrafacials. I really have found a great resource in her to help me keep my skin in tip-​top shape. She is gorgeous and knows exactly what to recommend to ensure that you get the most out of your facial. The office is beautiful and really easy to get to, I usually park in the public lots on Santa Monica. It’s easy to get in touch with staff via email and text, too.

I wanted to wait until my 1 year post op appointment to review this fabulous doctor. After years of research and Unilocaling, I’m extremely excited and satisfied with my decision to go through with my BA with Dr. John Diaz. From the first phone call I ever placed to his office, to my last appointment on Friday 5⁄22 his staff has been the sweetest most attentive group of ladies I’ve met. They are simply amazing.
Walking in to my consultation I knew what size, shape of implant and where I wanted the incision. Dr. Diaz could have gone ahead and done as I said but he is such a professional who cares passionately about his work he told me what was achievable and what wasn’t. He explained to me how my body could only hold up to a certain size and anything above that would be a risk. He made it very clear that there are many other doctors in Beverly Hills who would do as I said but he would not risk my safety and give me something that would later cause problems both for me and him. I deeply appreciate the time dedicated to me by Dr. Diaz. Had I chosen another doctor this might have been a bad review vs. a good one.
Putting my trust in the doctor I went as big as my body would allow me. I can honestly say I do not regret it one bit. The day before my surgery the anesthesiologist called me and explained the process to me he told me not to be scared that he would take great care of me. The day of the surgery I was very nervous of course but I felt confident and safe in the doctors hands. My biggest fear was waking from the surgery and the recovery but everything went better than I thought. I had my surgery on a Thursday and on Monday I was back at work. I’m not going to say it wasn’t painful because it was but it’s totally bearable with the medication and following all instructions. As for my scars I went below the breast, I didn’t use any scar cream and they are almost invisible.
I have the most amazing breast augmentation that I could have ever imagined. I used to look at all those great before and afters and hoped mine turned out at least half as nice as theirs. But I am beyond thrilled with mine they are beautiful. They are everything I wanted and more. I thank Dr. Diaz and his whole staff for making this process comfortable and truly enjoyable.

My review is a little late, it has been about a year since I got my surgery done by Dr Diaz. I was referred to him by a friend of mine who had gotten her surgery with Dr. Diaz a few months prior to mine. I had gotten a few consultations in Orange County before going to Dr. Diaz and I never had gotten them done because they were just too expensive for me to afford. Dr Diaz’s prices are so affordable and very competitive which is crazy considering the location of his office. I would have thought Beverly Hills doctors would be more expensive than the ones in Fountain Valley and Huntington Beach area.
Dr. Diaz is very nice and not pushy. I agree with Amalia, he is not the type to constantly reassure you and hold your hand through the process. He goes over the the facts and recommends a size based on what you say you want.
His team is wonderful! I love all the lovely ladies that I encountered in his office. I can’t remember all of their names but they were all sooo sweet and answered all my questions via email or phone or in person.
The surgery went well, everything turned out great! I am very happy with the results. I never did go back for my last follow up because its a bit inconvenient for me to drive there (I have to take off work to be able to make it during his office hours). But I would definitely recommend Dr. Diaz.

It has been almost two years since I underwent breast augmentation and just wanted to come back and update my consultation review. I didn’t go to my last followup appointment because I was just extremely busy at the time and I feel really bad lol
Anyway, I can’t say enough about the entire experience. Everyone, from the anesthesiologist to the surgeon was just amazing! I couldn’t be happier with my results and I have been having so much fun shopping at Victoria’s Secret!
