IB Pilates studio

For some reason my original review was moved to the «not recommended» category. I believe it is Unilocal trying to control the consuming public. IB Pilates studio continues to be THE BEST Pilates experience I have ever had. Irina not only listens to her clients I think she can actually listen to our bodies! I wouldn’t consider going elsewhere and needed to Set the record straight.

Now days there are as many Pilate studios as there are nail salons… How do you know which one to choose…
I have met Irina at the gym in West Hollywood many years ago, after taking a few classes I knew that she will be in my life for a long time. Irina is professional, very knowledgable and having back ground in gymnastics and acrobatics she was methodically working on getting me stronger. She worked on my core at first, always asked me to come 15 early to do cardio. Always pointed out that safety is first and therefore getting all the big mussels ready was the key. I worked w her before and during pregnancy. Felt great and it helped my recovery after giving birth.
Irina cares, she really works w your body and while being gentle, she is very strict and tough.
I think that being strict and discipline w your workout routine is very important.
I highly recommend to work w Irina in her beautiful and immaculately clean studio.

IRINA IS AMAZING!!! I found her through Unilocal & read all her great reviews so I set up a consultation with her. I could not be happier! She’s truly wonderful :) She is super professional, extremely knowledgable, and caters to each client differently & accordingly. I’m not big on working out & hate going to the gym, but I always look forward to Pilates. Her studio is extremely well maintained, clean, and she has all the best machines. Don’t get me wrong — she’s tough! She’ll push you to perform your best and watches you with a close eye to make sure you’re doing all the exercises correctly. She’s the opposite of lazy — will spend every second with you in each session to make sure you’re getting the best work out. I’ve been with her for close to a year now & I’ve seen amazing results! That girl knows what she’s doing!!! She’s worth every penny and more! She has helped me tremendously with my back problems & posture — I can never thank her enough & cannot recommend her highly enough! SHE’S THE BEST :)

Awesome place. This place has been recommended by coworker. Checked it on Unilocal.Took advantage of Unilocal deal. The place is bright and clean. All of the equipment is new. The instructor is knowledgeable and committed. She has very nice, friendly personality. By coming to this IB Pilates studio I am not only getting exercise but also receiving valuable information on: diet, nutrition, healthy cooking and recommendation on restaurants in Beverly Hills where to eat the healthy and delicious meal. Irin possessed a lot of valuable information and she does not mind to share it with you. She has been in professional sport for the most of her life and resident of Beverly Hills for a long time. She sure knows what she is talking about. I have tried few Pilates studios in West Hollywood in the past. Have been under impression that studious located in Beverly Hills are overpriced. That’s changed when I tried IB Pilates studio. The price is more than reasonable. The service is exceptional. I would recommend go for one on one session, since you can get the best for your money.

Irina is a wonderful Pilates Instructor! She has created a very inviting, friendly place to workout! Gaspar is also a trainer in her studio and he is the best if you need a great booty workout! Thank you IB Pilates!

This is a great studio. This studio is clean, instructor cares and really knows how to teach. Great way to learn Pilates and get in shape. Highly recommend. Best studio!

Amazing instructor. She is the best. Very attentive and very sincere. I never really work out and she Is Very Patient to guide me slowly.

I have been working with Irina for almost 1 year now and have never felt better or been more in shape. She WORKS you out and you really get your money’s worth and great results if you keep going! She is so sweet and fun to talk to but definitely tough and pushes you to work, but tailors the various sessions to what works best for your body type. I really appreciate the attention to detail she gives, because it just helps me focus on my core strength and posture so that I’m getting the most benefits. I just feel great after each workout and it’s the first studio that I’ve really wanted to stick with because I’m really happy with her training!
…oh and it doesn’t hurt that my fiancée has mentioned how nice my booty has been looking lately since I’ve regularly been going to Irina! Hehe

I had tried Pilates a few years ago and didn’t think it was for me. Then I met Irina. In the last year she has helped me become stronger, leaner and have more energy. I’m a figure skater and prone to all sorts of muscle strains and injuries, so Irina tailors my sessions to strengthen my weakest areas and makes sure not to overdevelop the others. I had some chronic skating-​induced knee pain that was gone after about a month of Pilates, and my core (in which I thought I might not actually have any muscles) has completely changed. Recently I had my muscle density tested and the tester said «whatever it is you are doing, keep doing it,» since I had a much higher percentage of muscle than average for my age — I owe that to Irina. She’s tough, and she doesn’t let you get away with putting in minimal effort, but that is why she’s successful. The sessions are never boring and she varies the routines so you get to learn something new all the time. I always have fun chatting with Irina and I go home feeling great.

Irina sees how you perform and she provides targeted feedback to perform better. She adopts my sessions to pace with my ability so I was never discouraged and always felt… maybe naively… I was making great progress. She recognized my ability to concentrate on any given morning and varied the exercises accordingly. And… most importantly for the reasons I looked to Pilates originally… she produced results. After the first six months with the first studio, I was about to quit. After six months with Irina, I discovered I needed to buy size 10 jeans and skirts instead of the familiar 12’s.

I used to think sushi was nasty and disinterest best characterized my attitude. Later… there is always a later in these kinda stories… I joined a dear friend at a really nice sushi place. I suspended my contempt if only because the occasion was entirely not mine. Yes… it was amazing! It was then I wasn’t contemptuous of sushi… only bad sushi. Good sushi is amazing and great sushi is intoxicating. Totally learned my lesson… Puh-​leeze!
After this epiphany, I considered investing time, effort, and care in my physical health… er…appearance. I decided I would adopt a routine that would 1) produce positive improvements in my health (visible) and B) support the desire to integrate this practice as part of my normal life-​style. For whatever reason, and whatever influences my friends might have offered, I opted to explore Pilates. So how did I select my first Pilates instructor? Of course!!! I picked the place closest to my house. Sheesh!
It was six months before I confessed Pilates was not what I hoped. It didn’t seem to provide the physical impact I imagined and I didn’t seem to be developing the connection I thought necessary to sustain the practice. Fortunately for me, a dear friend… different one… mocked me for my disappointment with this new ‘bad’ sushi and insisted I visit Irina before I abandoned Pilates all together.
Wow! The equipment is the same… the terms are the same… and the experience was entirely different. The only other thing different was the presence of gifted instructor who doesn’t merely understand how to perform Pilates but also understands the various motives and barriers each of us has to learning that skill. Irina bridges the gap between the desire and ability to perform.
What distinguishes Irina from the average instructor is her ability to measure the sessions with my ability… my ability in general and also my ability for the day. No matter my mood or energy, I would experience the same fatigue and exhilaration of the targeted work out I completed that morning. On more than one day, I was embarrassed at the Coffee Bean counter and realized my butt was quivering still quivering. The fatigue is not exhaustion… it is the product of utilizing muscles so long neglected. It is not endurance from exhaustion but a challenge for precision. And… honestly…it is absurd to imagine that quality exists in the studio closest to your home. That quality exists in a few instructors.

Don’t get too excited. I wasn’t shedding pounds. I know! I was confused too. How is that possible? Well, it was my posture that changed! Seriously! My shoulders where relaxed and squared and my slouching was reduced so my tummy was now pulled firmly away from my waste. It was that day that I realized Pilates was no an integral part of my life style.
I am not suggesting Irina will make you drop a size. And I’m not suggesting Irina will magically transform your appearance. I AM suggesting that if you are considering Pilates as a possible exercise or if you are considering stopping your current Pilates routine… you should also seriously consider who is helping you achieve the goals you originally imagined. I’ve been working with every week since 2008 after nearly quitting altogether. Like my dear friend did for me… I ask you please consider visiting Irina before you form any final opinion. Suspend your judgment on bad sushi until you have the experience of amazing sushi. Then… judge all you wish.
