San Diego affiliate screwed me with a reservation by booking someone else instead because I didn’t get my deposit in before them. I was attempting to have a belated Xmas with my son (USMC). This company is only concerned about the bottom line and not supporting families with special events in mind. None of their information says anything about «first-​come-​first-​served» mentality. When I contacted them, they directed me to send the complaint to the affiliate personnel who screwed me in the first place.

Bate and switch. I emailed interest. They responded no prob. I verified dates for more than one beach house. They emailed all available. I emailed: Great! I have PayPal one of their few payment choices for the $ 450 deposit to hold the rental. 1 HOUR later: Sorry no longer available, but they offered a rental no where NEAR the beach for $ 200 more per night.
Will not use Hellorelaxation again EVER.

Beautiful beach front property that was clean and relaxing on the inside coupled with a breathtaking view on the outside.
The house was clean and came stocked with dishes and most cooking utensils; even a coffee maker and a charcoal grill!
For the amount that we paid, we certainly received everything minus room service – but for the group that I went with, it was worth every penny.

I rented out a house at Newport Beach, very very nice, loved that place. The ocean view was just amazing. Walking distance to lots of restaurants and bars. We ran out from towels so we called Rea and she sent the manger right away; we got clean towels in less than 30 min. I was very happy with this company and I will definitely come back.

I rented one of the apartments in Newport Beach. It was very clean, nice and the view was absolutely amazing. Locations is great, walking distance to all the bars and fun places on Peninsula. There was not enough towels at the house so we called the company we rented it from; they sent the manager right away and he brought us extra towels. The whole experience was just great.

I rented two places in LA from Hello Relaxation for the same weekend. After I booked the second place, the people that were going to use it were injured in an accident, and no longer able to attend. When I called to see if they would cancel the reservation, the person who spoke with me, Rea, would not stop talking over me, and whenever I started to say something, would keep talking over me, constantly. This continued through the entire conversation. She did not let me finish a single sentence without interrupting me. I had signed a non-​refundable contract, but was calling to see if they would be lenient since I was renting not one, but TWO places from them. Rea even had the gall to say that «even if someone had DIED they wouldn’t release me from the contract.» I would have been ok with a polite response, since I had signed the contract, but Rea was NOT polite or even civil.
We arrived at the main house that I had rented, and the house (despite very steep cleaning fees, and being told the house was just vacated two days earlier, and presumably cleaned) was absolutely filthy. I asked them to come back and mop the kitchen floor (which obviously hadn’t been done). I also pointed out the many broken cabinets, the broken toilet (which made one of the bathrooms unusable until the next day), the pool light HANGING from the pool light receptacle in the pool (!) and the dirt on all the floors and dust everywhere. They did send someone out to clean the kitchen floor, as well as fix the toilet. And, as a compensation, they upgraded the second place (which I did not need) to a two bedroom apartment instead of a one bedroom apartment. There was no way to cook pasta (no pasta sized pot) and they did provide a pot when I asked, but the dishes in the kitchen were inadequate for the number of people who could stay in the house, and many of them were dirty, requiring us to wash everything before using them. Fortunately, I had planned on using paper products, because there were no where near enough plates or cups for the number of people who could sleep in beds in the house.
One of the bedrooms in the main house had obvious water damage, and was very smelly. (Mold? Mildew?) The floor was completely uneven from water damage.
When we checked into the apartment, although cleaner, it also had broken cabinets, and missing baseboards, and although we did not cook in the apartment, I noticed the kitchen was very poorly stocked as well.
We left the house and apartment in at least as good of shape as we found it (which isn’t saying a lot), and since I had already had so many difficulties, I called immediately after we left to make sure there was no issue with my $ 1100 of deposit money being returned. I was assured that it would not be a problem.
I ended up calling MANY times (at least 10 different phone conversations) to get them to return my deposit. Every time they would say it would go out that day or the next. 6 weeks later they finally returned it, although initially, they only returned one third of the money due me, and of course, I had to call AGAIN to get the balance returned.
I will never use this company again. Although the people that I saw personally who gave me keys, spot-​cleaned after we arrived, and did the necessary repairs, were all very nice and polite, the office staff did an exceptionally poor job with all my interactions. The fact that both of the two places needed repairs, and were not cleaned properly is just unacceptable.

I stayed in a vacation rental in SF, California and loved it! The ocean view was absolutely perfect + the balcony from which to enjoy it adding a particularly nice touch. The apartment had a nice open feel, was very clean and in good repair, and was quite comfortable. Convenient location and fair pricing made this rental property a no-​brainer. I would certainly use Hello Relaxation again and would recommend to friends and family :)

We enjoyed 3 nights in an upstairs condo on Balboa Peninsula, Newport Beach, CA. The living/​dining/​kitchen area was light and open with gorgeous views of the ocean, pier, and sunsets across the green expanse of grass. The master bedroom had more natural light and was larger than the other two bedrooms with it’s own balcony overlooking the alley behind. The management service for this unit was very responsive and usually answered questions by email within the hour. We had planned to BBQ, but the grill provided is not propane/​gas-​owered and we didn’t want to mess with buying briquets. This is a prime location as there are at least 6 restaurants within ½ block of this unit. We wondered if there might be problems with rowdy groups at night, but even on a holiday weekend, it was very quiet. We especially appreciated the locking gates front and back and perimeter security lighting. Overall, we were very pleased and would stay here again.

We booked a house rental through Hello Relaxation (also known as Shaked Homes/​Properties) three months in advance. We gave them a deposit, signed a contract and we were excited to have the property for a week.
Unfortunately, Hello Relaxation informed us the property was no longer available two weeks before our rental period. How could that be? We had a reservation? You took our deposit? We then re-​read our contract that says «properties sometimes become unavailable and they will offer an alternative or return your deposit.» We demanded a suitable alternative, but were only offered a smaller house nowhere near the same location.
We finally got our deposit back, but try finding a 4 bedroom house to rent in LA in the middle of the summer two weeks before you need it. We think they found someone who wanted to book the property for longer, and dropped us because of it.

What a steal of a deal!
This location is beyond PERFECT for Newport Beach
The beach is literally over the grass area and park area including swings and slides for kids.
It was so convenient to walk back and forth with the kids! We were able to set up on the beach and go back for lunch and snacks and other items forgotten throughout the day.
The condo has almost everything you need! If anything is missing the pharmacy behind the condo had everything! And we indulged in a pizzokie nightly with the convenience of BJS literally next door! The bedrooms were large and kept up very nicely! We were able to sleep comfortable in each room w toddlers and also plenty of room in the living room!
The patio was overlooking the grass and it was very relaxing to watch walker/​joggers and bike riders.
The garage was very spacious and we were able to park both of our SUVS! That was a pleasant surprise! We will definitely be staying here for our annual Newport Beach rental! Just be forewarned: a week is a minimum!

The place was in a great location, clean and well maintained. Any requests that were asked they were quick to handle. It was super easy to get ahold of the agents and they were incredibly helpful and friendly. I was in a bind and needed something last minute and they were fair and honest with me. I really appreciated their work ethic, and the guests that stayed had a great time!
I would absolutely work with them again, in fact in the future I will probably just to call directly as we had such a great rapport and I feel like they were so honest and fair with me, not to mention the place was great!

We stayed with them at there Malibu property. The condo is located very close to the beach and was neatly kept. It’s a bright airy unit and is good for 4 – 6 ppl. The kitchen is well equipped too. Location, location, location is what wins for this condo hands down. Totally recommended!

Stayed in a vacation rental in santa monica, which was in the perfect ideal location for a weekend getaway! It was walking distance to the pier, beach, and promenade, so I didn’t have to use my car. The place is neat, clean, and cozy. Check-​in was hassle-​free and you don’t have to deal with expensive parking fees because there’s a free valet parking garage that’s included with your rate. Booking is also easy through their website. I’ll definitely use hello relaxation for my next future vacation (likely hawaii — they have rentals there too)!
