History

Established in 2002.

Head Above Water Swim School was established in 2002 to provide water safety instruction for children in the privacy and familiarity of their own pool. We specialize in private lessons and customize each lesson to meet your child’s specific needs. Head Above Water serves all of Southern California and we hope to continue to grow across the United States and serve your city soon!

Learning to swim is a valuable skill that can save a child’s life and increase their self-​esteem. Our method of teaching varies according to the individual needs of each child. We believe that learnin to swim is not only a life saving skill, but also a tool for building confidence and gaining independence in life. The lessons that are learned in the pool will benefit children long after they learn to swim.

Business Owner

Kate was born and bred in the pool! After completing swim lessons as a young girl she instantly fell in love with the water and went on to become a competitive swimmer, holding state records in both Minnesota and Arizona before moving to Los Angeles to compete as a USC Trojan on their NCAA Women’s Swim Team.
