My Mom has been seeing Dr. Melamed for several years. He happened to be on her Medicare card. That’s how we found him. And it’s great we did! He has such wonderful bedside manner. Knowledgable and kind, too. Takes the time to listen.
A special shoutout to Lisa, the best phlebotomist in town. The MAs, Rosie and Jenny, also deserve praise. They’re helpful and caring. Both my Mom and I recommend Dr. Melamed as your internist.

Dr Farhad Melamed is such a find! I have been a patient at one of America’s top rated hospitals and the specific patient of it’s reputed best diagnostician for thirty years. For specialized care i was always referred to the head of whatever particular department my condition required. So, I moved to the west coast absolutely spoiled rotten when it came to medical treatment. I never in my wildest dreams expected to find someone I thought totally adequate but why should I, having been at the top. I had the good fortune of observing Dr. Melamed’s care of someone special to me a few years earlier and based on those observations, I decided to trust myself to him. His is a rare combination of careful listening coupled with brilliant insight, unrelenting determination to find the real cause for anything that seems awry, referring patients to top specialists without hesitation. His caring for his patients spills over in the way he makes himself available to them and in the way he works with his staff, making that same caring reflect from each of them to all of us. I am one of the most fortunate people on the planet to be a patient of this most competent internist who is also a fantastic human being.

I have only recently been treated by Dr. Melamed, having been a patient for many years of his partner Dr. Evangelatos. But it is clear after only one visit that he will be maintaining the very high standards of professionalism and care that I enjoyed with Dr. Evangelatos. He gave me all the time that I needed and has followed up to see that my treatment has been proper. I am confident that he will be a very able and professional successor to Dr. Evangelatos.

Dr. Farhad Melamed was a former partner of Dr. Dennis Evangelatos, my internist for 25 years, he took over the practice this month. Anyone would naturally be apprehensive but Dr. Malamed is the kind of physician that puts people at ease with his thoroughness. But, how many of your doctors call you at 9:00 p.m. to go over your recent appointment? Dr. Melamed is brilliant, knowledgeable and responsive and in today’s economy you are considered lucky to receive two out of three. My wife and I look forward to many years under his compassionate care.

Last year I observed how Dr. Melamed treated a friend who was seriously ill and knew I wanted this doctor to provide my medical care. Dr. Melamed is dedicated to preserving health, devoted to patients and provides compassionate care. Additionally, he takes time to listen, is calm and reassuring and has a «kind heart» approach with patients. I appreciate that the office responds promptly to both telephone and email. Dr. Melamed has been my doctor for over 17 years from when he was part of the UCLA system and for the past several years in his own practice in Beverly Hills. I moved to Las Vegas over six years ago but still fly back to see him for my annual physicals as well as anything i need in between and consider him my primary care physician as I simply don’t trust anyone else! He is more than anyone could ever wish or hope for in a physician — he is an amazing and knowledgeable doctor, a consummate professional, he is kind, he is funny, he is compassionate and bottom line he figures out what is wrong with you and is a damn good doctor! And, he has an amazing network of other great doctors that he knows personally that he will refer you to if you need someone in another area of medicine. And I mean personally!!! He will never refer you to someone that he doesn’t know or can’t vouch for their capabilities. This is unheard of in the medical profession today! One of the many things I love about this guy is that he does not treat the symptoms and medicates you, he wants to know what is causing those symptoms, gets to the root cause and then treats that whatever it may be. He is diligent and takes his time to figure out the best plan of action… for YOU! He doesn’t chat to you for 5 minutes and get out a prescription pad to get you on your way and get another patient through the door — not the way this man runs his business. He is a doctor for all the right reasons for being a doctor — I have spoken to him out of hours, at night, at weekends, you name it — he makes himself available to his patients. A long time ago I was really admitted and really not doing well and he came to the hospital just to chat to me — meant a lot then and still means a lot today. I will never give him up as my personal doc and will follow him wherever as I trust him implicitly with my health and well being. If you want a great doctor — look no further — five stars is nowhere near enough :)

Cool doctor but the billing is unbelievable. I was told they needed a $ 250 retainer that would be refunded to me 2 – 3 days after my appointment pending my insurance companies payment for my claims. 7 weeks later I have not received my retainer back. I’ve called my insurance company they have told me that the checks were cashed at the end of February. I feel helpless and like no one cares about my mental well being. Again cool doctor, terrible customer service. Avoid this mess in the future if they require a retainer I’d go somewhere else. Unless you’re okay with being misled and frustrated.

Dr. Melamed is an awesome doctor! I have been seeing him for a few years now. He has a friendly staff and he has a nice office.
