This is the best chocolate I’ve ever tasted. It’s an extremely popular gift amongst my family members.
Everyone at the store is very friendly and helpful. Definitely a must-​stop in Beverly Hills!

Just got a private showing by the owner herself! I have been coming here since I was a little kid! Love the chocolate truffles. They even do custom orders!

Stumbled upon this store during our chocolate tour in Beverly Hills. It’s a small family owned business that makes everything from scratch daily. As soon as you walk in you can smell the aroma of awesomeness! The owner gave us a tour of the factory in the back. (Which on a side note will be featured on a cooking show later this month) We were able to see behind the scenes how they’re assembly line looks, their old machines from the 1940’s that are still working till this day, and the beautifully handcrafted chocolates that are being prepped for sale. They’re famous for their chocolate covered marshmallows. Apparently it’s also madonna’s fave since she has her assistant coming here regularly to buy her supply. It’s absolutely amazing. They’re chocolate is just right. The marshmallow is so fresh. You can definitely taste the difference between theirs and store bought. The staff is so friendly and attentive.
Pro’s: all of the above
Con’s: location is a bit busy so parking is a little bit of a hassle. But totally worth it!

Cute shop, but ridiculously expensive, even by Beverly Hills standards. $ 1.80 for an average tasting nut cluster that was literally the size of a quarter. Will be getting a cheaper chocolate fix elsewhere.

The Chocolate is fine… I USED to be a customer here. However, these are Terrible people who should not be supported. I thought i was the only one with this experience but I have heard others repeat similar stories. I completely understand the challenge with owning a business and making sure their customers have parking spaces. However, there is a point where you can get carried away.
BEWARE IF YOU PARK IN THE BACK — I parked there, stopped at Puss and pooch to grab some snacks for my dog and then some snacks for myself at Edelweiss. When I went back to my car, I saw a parking violations officer writing up a ticket. He explained that the owners watch a camera in their store and if they don’t see you going straight to their store immediately, they call to have a citation. When I went back to discuss this with them, they were SO rude and unapologetic. They wouldn’t even give me a receipt for the chocolates I had purchased so that I could fight the city on the $ 63.00 ticket. Too many other chocolate choices nearby with nicer people. Try Helen Ficaolora or Toucher… DELICIOUS, quality chocolates and not more fixated on parking.

Here’s a little information about the location.
1. It is famous for its marshmallows. The original owner used to come in before everyone else and make the marshmallows herself so that her recipe would remain a secret.
2. It inspired the I Love Lucy Chocolate Factory scene.
3. I was told that if you come in during the weekdays starting at 10 AM, you can ask to see how the chocolates are actually made! However, I am not sure on when that time ends.
4. Famous celebrities such as Madonna, Elvis, Oprah, and many others have ordered chocolates and marshmallows from here.
I was able to sample their milk chocolate and dark chocolate covered marshmallows. It was simply amazing. The only way I could describe it is that it was like biting into a mini cloud. It was a little too sweet for my taste, but a cold glass of milk would have been perfect with it.
To be honest, the prices are a little higher than what you would expect from desserts, but it is definitely worth it. You shouldn’t be eating sweets too often, so you might as well go gourmet.

The owners and staff are super friendly and helpful. They are known for their chocolate marshmallow assortments. If you ask they will give you a free tour of the factory. It’s cool to see how everything is made behind the scenes. I had dark chocolate with marshmallow and coconut, all my favorites combined. My friend has acid reflux and had white chocolate. Lucille Ball came here and was inspired to create the conveyor belt chocolate scene in the TV show I love Lucy.

The «sister» shop in Brentwood Country Mart is like no other! The wonderful assortment of chocolates is only surpassed by Renee’s pleasant service! There is a huge collection of truffles to choose from and the chocolate covered pretzels are delish! This is an indulgence well worth taking! LS

Gourmet, gourmet, gourmet. Very fancy, very expensive, but so delightful! Their chocolate covered marshmallows are to.die.for!
We ordered a 24″ chocolate bunny and it was absolute perfection. Customer service was just ok, but this is a very busy Passover season for them so we forgive them and still give 5 stars.

If you like chocolate covered marshmallows this is where you can feast your eyes before fill your mouth with the best of the best.
Inside secret! For those who say they won’t go to BH because of the lack of parking, guess what! The Edelweiss offers FREE parking while shopping at their store. It’s in the alley and behind the store.

So the other day I had some friends over and one of them brought over a box of chocolates and it was not very good. I think the chocolates were Russel Stover’s or Whitman’s. It did however, give me the craving for the finest chocolates I’ve ever had which were here at Edelweiss. I discovered Edelweiss while I was in college. The shop is right next to a great italian sandwich shop.
What got me hooked was the fresh fruit dipped in chocolate. Sure I’ve had chocolate strawberries, but that was probably the extent of the fruit dipped in chocolate, plus it was always just chocolate. Here they have sliced bananas dipped with chocolate and then dipped in nuts or sprinkles. Perfection. They also have clusters of green grapes covered in chocolate and clusters of raspberries dipped in chocolate. They have other fruit too, but those are my favorite.
Aside from the fruit, my favorite piece is the marzipan (almond paste) which comes either in dark chocolate or milk chocolate. I personally prefer the milk chocolate and it’s harder to find than the dark chocolate. I’ve tried so many different chocolates over the years here and while I like some more than others, I’ve never been disappointed. It’s not cheap here, but it’s definitely worth it.
The service here is very sweet (ha!) and helpful. It can be difficult deciding how to fill your box, so it’s nice that the people helping you are patient and full of good suggestions and very knowledgeable about the products they carry. Even when the store is crowded, they don’t rush you and you never have to wait long.
Parking here is awesome; they’ve got a lot in the back and there’s also a parking structure literally across the street which I appreciate in this neighborhood.
Definitely on my go to list when I’m back in LA — fortunately for me they ship to Philly!

My grandmother used to take me to Edelweiss after school once a week for a treat, as she did with my mother when she was a child. Even though she passed several years ago, I’ve kept up that tradition; we would always get one caramellow and one piece of something else. I almost don’t want to write a review so that they don’t get busier, but this place is an absolute favorite. The pretzels are the best ever… totally addicting.
Favorites: the orange peel (Arancini), French Truffle, caramellow and English Toffee. They also make caramel corn that’s out of this world, fresh roasted nuts (almonds, pecans and cashews), peanut brittle, fudge and rocky road!
There’s really something to be said about a place that can be a tradition for so many generations, especially in a city where nothing ever lasts… Edeweiss is rare!

THIS is my go-​to to fulfill my sweet tooth desires. It’s been here ever since I was a child and actually long before I was born! I always feel a warm a fuzzy feeling when I first walk in and then I am immediately greeted with the strong, amazing scent of chocolate since they make everything right in the back. They must be doing something quite amazing and right since the recipes never change and I can always count on them having my favorite mouth watering chocolates. The chocolate covered pretzels are a must and make sure to try the chocolate truffle. The peanut butter ones are great too.

This place is amazing! Better than any chocolate shop I’ve ever been to. Staff is friendly and always willing to give you a tour of their shop because EVERYTHING is made from scratch in house! One thing is better than the other. Fresh fruit dipped in chocolate, chocolate pretzels and chocolate covered marshmallows! My mouth is starting to water!
Also, makes great gifts (I personally give to clients and on holidays) with the prettiest custom wrapping on the spot! Can’t get better than this… they’re the full package!

I was transported back in time when I walked into this lovely chocolate shop. The owner gave me a private tour through the amazing collection of classic candy making equipment used to create their delicious sweets. The care and maintenance of traditional equipment is remarkable in a time when so much food preparation is delegated to detached corporate efficiency. A true passion to keep the integrity of things, like Katherine Hepburn’s and Frank Sinatra’s favorite handmade chocolates, created with original equipment, recipes and personal touch is exhibited throughout the boutique. Give someone you care about a genuine hand crafted confection. These nostalgic delicious creations are very reasonably priced. Stop in and see the classic candy conveyor belt machine that inspired the I Love Lucy chocolate factory episode. I can just see her doing her routine in the back kitchen of Edelweiss!

I have heard about the history and the good quality of Edelweiss Chocolates, so I decided to take a chocolate tour to visit them and test their famous chocolates.
Being in a group of 20 people, I hardly hard any time to look around in their store. There were few boxed chocolate-​covered cookies set on the far end of their counter with a «Buy One Get One Free» label right next to them. Those looked very appealing to me, so I grabbed one box of Peppermint Oreo and one box of Ginger Snap to take home with. When I verified the price with the cashier, she told me they were on «buy one get one free» special. But when she rang up my total, it was $ 38.15, I was shocked. I had to verify the price again. When I asked her, «Does one box cost $ 38? » She said yes. At that moment, our tour guide already left the store and moved on to the next stop. Therefore I was in a big rush to get out of the store so that I could catch the tour group I came in with. I rushed out of the store with two boxes of expensive chocolate-​covered cookies.
When I got home, I realized the cashier didn’t even give me an itemized receipt. All I got back was a credit card sale slip with a total of $ 38.15 on it.
I checked, on their website, the prices of those boxed cookies I bought, I found out a box of 14-​piece Peppermint Oreo & Ginger snap is $ 28. If it was on a «buy one get one free» special, my total purchase should have been $ 28 plus tax. I could not come up with $ 38.15 they charged me.
Worst of all, after eating one cookie from each box, I had upset stomach which kept me awake all night. When I took my first bite out of the ginger snap, I noticed it was hard as a rock, I should have stop eating it, but I honestly believed in the quality of Edelweiss Chocolates, so I continued eating their cookies. I regret that I bought those cookies that made me sick! I was going to share them with my family, I changed my mind after going to bathroom multiple times last night and all day today. Now I understand why those cookies were specially priced. Who knows how old they are and how long ago Edelweiss Chocolates made them?!
I find it unbelievable that the reputable Edelweiss Chocolates over-​charged me for spoiled cookies which should have been discarded.
I hope this review will alert everyone who is interested in Edelweiss Chocolates. Please be aware of the freshness of their products, even when they tell you they made their chocolates fresh daily!
***UPDATE TO MY PREVIOUS REVIEW:
The owner of Edelweiss Chocolates, Madeline, called me and invited me back to her store for a tour. Her explanation of the overcharge was, «The price of the buy-​one-​get-​one-​free deal is $ 35.00 plus tax.» So I asked her why the same product was advertised with a sale price of $ 21.00, which was marked down from the regular price of $ 28.00 on their website. She told me that’s the price for a single box, if I want the second box for free, I had to pay an additional $ 14.00 for it. I think she should be honest about her in-​store special, instead of «buy one get one free,» she should’ve labeled it «buy one get one ½ off»!
I also questioned her about the quality of her ginger snap cookies, she commented that those cookies are supposed to be really hard. According to her, they purchased those cookies from Whole Foods. So I actually went to Whole Foods to get those cookies later. When I tried some of them, they were not hard at all.
My conclusion is that the owner was dishonest about the price and the quality of their products, therefore I will never go back there nor will I ever recommend Edelweiss Chocolates to anyone!

Edelweiss has several different one-​pound/​two-​pound boxes with the standard offerings: dark, milk, nuts (heyoo!), but their employees offer tons of options for personalized mélanges (ie, you’re the slut who wants nothing but the caramel chews in a five pound crate, or you’re the «gimme all your salted nuts» whore).
The actual taste of the chocolate is on par with Godiva, though honestly the average person (I include myself) really can’t call you out on switcharoo bullsh*t if you want to pull it («You skank! You ate the real Edelweiss and refilled the box with See’s!»).
The real Edelweiss difference is the presentation. You’ll pick your «It’ll give you zits!» poison, and the lady behind the counter will whip out a box and start filling it for you by hand, using these pornographic escargot tongs, then will wrap the whole thing in an «I’m sorry I cheated on you with your sister» bow.
That’s gangster, son.
Edelweiss also sells candy à la carte, along with lollipops and other junkfood, so there are endless opportunities to blow your lunch money and lie to your mom.

This classic chocolatier located in the heart of Beverly Hills has been making chocolates for decades. Their chocolate covered pretzels are like crack! They are seriously addictive. You can get them in dark or milk chocolate, but watch out as you’ll likely devour the entire bag!
Another favorite of mine is their chocolate covered oreo’s. They are such a treat.
This is by no means «fancy chocolate» but it’s the stuff that hit’s the spot and reminds you of being a kid.
Great for a little sugar rush while shopping!

Forget about Ms. See’s and go see what Mr/Mrs.Zahir have to offer! You won’t be disappointed…
I kid you not, I felt like Charlie when he won a golden ticket to visit Willie Wonka! Believe me, you will too-​if you get the opportunity to view their factory. Oh my god, where do my recommendations begin, mind I am eating their scrumptious chocolate covered pretzels whilst Unilocaling away… haha
