Ashkan coordinated our wedding and it went off without a hitch. I mean, no wedding is perfect, but ours was pretty close! I knew I was in good hands when I saw ash working another wedding and he was so on top of everything. He is always thinking about how to solve any issues that come up and keep you calm. I personally didn’t get along with the first shadow (the girl that follows the bride around and makes sure she has everything she needs) but that was changed quickly and the new one was amazing. We planned out wedding in 90 days, so I was a bit nervous, but it was the best day of our lives. We thank Ashkan and his team for their hard work!

Best coordinator in town! I saw him at multiple weddings before my own and knew right away how amazing he was! He totally went out of his way to make the wedding planning process really smooth and easy. My husband and I both work full time and he was able to accommodate our busy schedules. He’s very prompt in returning all calls and emails. Also, him and his team looked very professional and are very experienced. I was so glad I had his team by my side all day. I was thinking of hiring one of his ex-​employees to save some money, but decided to go with the most experienced coordinator. I’m glad I did! Everything at my wedding was perfectly planned and carried out according to schedule. He also helped us make decisions and stick to our budget. He’s amazing!

Dream Events Design just did my brother’s wedding about three weeks ago
(Aug 9,2014) in Beverly Hills. Ashkan was the key player in the success of this wedding. He helped us with all aspects of the planning from design, to wedding etiquette, to counseling us on the hot trends on the wedding horizon, to pairing us with the vendors best suited to our event.
Ashkan is very well respected with in the community and very well connected. He is there to help you: from choosing the wedding vendors to maintaining your budget and your sanity. He does it all!!!
Leading up to the big day he took charge of every detail by keeping it organized and on the schedule.
For the day of the wedding he oversaw the entire event by supervising ALL the vendors, and making everything seamless. He is serious, focused, attentive yet fun
to work with. We are all impressed and very much pleased with his organizational expertness. Ashkan, we could not have done it with out you and thank you sooo much again!!!

Our first step to plan our wedding was to find a planner and we met with couple of few planners. What impressed me about Ashkan was the fact that he had his computer and spreadsheet and he was able to show us everything on his laptop. Other planners came with piece of paper and when we would ask them a question they would respond with «I’ll find out». So I told my fiancé that let’s go with Ashkan because he is organized and that’s what we were looking for. This industry is a female dominated industry, if you ever see a male planner, they are more feminine than most females. However Ashkan is anything but feminine, he’s probably the only straight guy in this city who happens to be a planner and since he comes from the sales background, he sounds like a salesman. Now some people are turned off by their planners sounding like a salesperson, so they may decide not to use his services, however my fiancé and I could have care less if the guy sounded like a salesperson, we were convinced that he was the right man for the job. Now I gotta be honest, this whole wedding process is probably one of the most difficult process that a person can go through in his/​her lifetime, there will be a lot of ups and downs with everyone involved in the process. But you shouldn’t rate someone or judge someone during the process, all the vendors and planner should be rated after the end of the match (wedding). A week before the wedding is what I call «clutch time», your planner gotta be on top of everything, there are no rooms for any mistakes. Ashkan did an incredible job communicating with us, the vendors and the hotel to make sure everything will go smooth. He did an amazing job setting a wedding rehearsal, he explained everything to our family, we also handed him everything that was needed for the wedding so this way we didn’t have to worry about paying the vendors or look for the Kiddush Cup on the day of the wedding. Then the wedding day came, the dude was on top of everything, He followed the schedule to the teeth, everything went according to plan. Everybody was happy. The wedding was a success and it wouldn’t have been a success without him and his staff. We also used him for all of our rentals, very fair pricing and the quality was more than amazing. Using his high quality rentals made our wedding even more special. Now how can I not give the guy a five star? I feel like my wedding was the final match of the World Cup and we won the game. We got the trophy, you gotta give the planner a 5 star for helping us winning this trophy. I hope whoever is reading this take my advice by judging his/​her planner after the wedding. If you choose Ashkan, I am convinced that you won’t be disappointed after the wedding is over. Thank you Ashkan for all your hard work, thanks for all those late meetings, thanks for always answering my calls and texts. You went from being our planner to being our friends. For all you men out there! Planning a wedding is stressful and you probably have no idea unless you r throwing a Persian wedding in less than 4 months. You WIILL need someone to calm things down for you and most importantly help you keep your bride happy.
Highly recommend Ashkan. I hired him for our December 7^th, 2013 wedding and he did an outstanding job. We had an assigned assistant and she did not leave our sight all night long. His team is AAA.

Not a single complaint. Ashkan was my wedding coordinator and I couldn’t think of anyone else who could have done a better job than he did. His décor ideas = A+. Anything I wanted, he made it happen and even provided me with his ideas too which was awesome. He has really great taste. His management skills for the day of the event = A+. He came with a team of about 6 other girls and every single one of them were super nice, friendly and helpful. One of the girls stood by me throughout the entire day and night and brought me water whenever I needed it and carried around my makeup for me in case I needed a touch up. Ashkan is also VERY responsive. Anytime I emailed him or texted him, he got back to me right away. He was always readily available which I think is very important. I didn’t have to think or worry about a single thing the day of my wedding and I thank you Ashkan and your team for it!!! I could go on and on forever, but do yourself a favor and go with Ashkan for your next event!!! You won’t be dissappolinted!

I would like anyone considering him to contact me so that I can show you the signed contract that we had with him THAT HE BREACHED because we didn’t do our rentals with him. He is the most unprofessional person I have met and lets not forget to mention the fact that he will belittle you when you tell him you have a budget. This is true and I have my signed contract with him as proof that was signed by both my fiancé and Ashkan. Ashkan may think that I am not a valid client of his but I definitely am and this account is under my American name. He never took the time to get to know me as his client or else he would have known my full real name!
I also want to mention that he has specific vendors that he pushes you or should I say doesn’t really give you a choice to work with such as spring flowers. This is because he wants a commission. He also claims he has a warehouse etc— BUT IT IS NOT HIS!!!
He also did my friends wedding a few weeks ago at LAX hilton and my friend and her husband were very disappointment– they said that he was yelling at everyone the whole night and complaining. Let’s not forget to mention that he ruined their confetti surprise which was supposed to go off at midnight for her husbands wedding!

Ash and his crew did a WONDERFUL job at my wedding! I didn’t have to worry about a thing, Ash had everything under control. When things went wrong with some vendors, Ash and his staff swooped in and fixed problems before I was even aware of them. My husband and I especially loved all the personalized attention from his staff — not a minute went by without us being shadowed by a staff member, ready to assist us. They are completely worth every penny!

I read some of the reviews here, but I had an absolutely different experience. Ashkan totally made my wedding. He had amazing staff, very organized. He, himself is very calm and collected. I felt very comfortable talking to him. I kinda wish I could text him, even now, for advice and questions! He was like a friend.

Ofcourse I had bad experience with some vendors as we all do, on the day of! But Ashkan and his team, really came thru for us. And I’m 100% satisfied !!! And if I get married again (jk) I will hire him :)

In 2012, we were introduced to Ashkan by the venue where we were going to have my son’s Bar Mitzvah. From the first moment, Ashkan was professional, diligent, detail oriented and extremely helpful. He listened to what we wanted and was able to negotiate with appropriate vendors to provide services within our budget. He had all logistics finalized the week prior to the event and met with us to ensure everything is as we want it. The night of the event, he handled everything perfectly and we were able to enjoy the evening without having to worry about any of the details. I would highly recommend him and look forward to working with him on any future events.

I’ve been to 3 weddings where Ashkan was the coordinator. All 3 weddings were beautiful and perfect in every way. My friend, the bride, told me that she was so relaxed because he had everything so perfectly coordinated. His staff was professional, courteous and very well put together. They looked busy at every minute. I can’t imagine a party being run any smoother.

Ashkan did such an amazing job on my sisters wedding. He was very organized, coordinated, and trustworthy. He brought very good vibes while helping my sister with the process of planning the wedding. Every idea he had was creative and effective in the way my sister wanted her wedding to be. If you are looking for a PROFESSIONAL wedding planner, then Ashkan and his team are the way to go! They are very serious, and they take very good care of their brides.

I hired Ashkan for my wedding and it was the BIGGEST mistake I made. He is unprofessional, unorganized and all around a hot mess. He was an added stress in the planning stage as he would not remember anything my husband and I would tell him. The day of our wedding, nothing was on time as he failed to give our vendors a schedule as he promised. His staff and himself really dropped the ball on my wedding day, from not arranging a bouquet toss to forgetting the glass that the groom is suppose to step on at the end of a Jewish ceremony.
When you initially meet with him, he will go on an on about himself and trash talk his clients as well as vendors he works with. Please please don’t hire him and make the mistake I made.

I am not one to bash people’s reputations, so the sole purpose of this review is to warn people before they hire Ashkan Barkhordar and Dream Events to do their wedding. When you meet with Ashkan he talks a BIG game. He says how wonderful he is, etc. I should have trusted my initial instinct when there are vendors in LA that will not work with him. For example, if you want to hire Allen G as your band, you cant hire Ashkan because Allen G wont work with him. That should have given me a hint… shame on me.
Anyway, my wife and I were thankfully very involved and very organized on our own, so we were able to save the day and still have an amazing wedding, no thanks to Ashkan however. He had another wedding the same day as ours and the other wedding that day was so bad, that they sued him, and won.
Its your wedding, there are plenty of good wedding planners out there. Why would you leave the most important day of your life in the hands of someone who is not good at what he does.
As I mentioned, I will not go into detail about all the things that went wrong or could have gone wrong, so if you would like, feel free to message me.

On October 15, 2013 we took Ashkan to small claims court, and I“m sad to say that he still didn’t make any effort to talk to us in order to resolve this matter.
So we went in front of the judge and the court ruled *IN OUR FAVOR*!!!
Hopefully Ashkan Barkhordar will learn that 1) don’t treat your clients poorly & damage their wedding experience, and 2) «I’m sorry» is what you say when you mess up. If he would have just apologized and owned up to his mistakes (and given us our stuff back) instead of ignoring us, we would have forgiven him and all this would have been avoided.
Now this judgment will be on his credit record for 7 years.

I hired Ashkan for two of my events — engagement and wedding. He did a phenomenal job for both. It felt so good to not have to stress over anything as both he and his team were on it. (I guess it also helps that I wasn’t a crazy bridezilla lol).
I would highly recommend Ashkan; these are such precious and memorable nights and it is absolutely imperative to have the best you can find.

I too had a similar experience to what the bad reviews on here are saying.
I guess it’s a hit or miss depending on Ashkan’s mood or perhaps how much money he can make off of you? I don’t know, but if I would have known then what I know now I would have steered clear of Ash. I would def not take the risk that my wedding would turn out the way it did. He is a selfish person that knows how to act charismatically when he wants to get what he wants.
Added to that, he doesn’t do ¼ of the things he promises.
Hire at your own risk.

RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!! We hired him because he did my sister in laws wedding and she said he was good and he was close to my husbands family. Well in our initial meeting he seemed to be very nice. Once hired he was very hard to get a hold of but I figured ok he’s busy. So we did our first walk thru with him at our venue… Came with absolutely nothing and no ideas… Claimed he would remember all of our ideas and the floor plan. Yeah okay! After that meeting he promised he’d get us a revised estimate and his view on how the layout of the room should be in a few days. That never happened. I called, text, emailed and facebooked him (which he read). NO RESPONSE! FINALLY AFTER 3 weeks of trying to contact him he responds with I’ll have it for you at the end of the week. Well that didn’t happen either. So again same thing calling texting etc. Another three weeks pass and he responds with «I’m dropping you as a client and not doing anymore weddings this year because my family needs me» THIS WAS THREE MONTHS BEFORE THE WEDDING AND HE BOOKED A LOT OF OTHER WEDDINGS!!! He’s a liar! But I figured out if you don’t book his vendors (which he gets commission for) and another wedding comes a long that he can make more money on… He will drop you like a hot pancake. He does not care about you or clearly his reputation… Just cares about how much he can make off you.
But even tho he dropped us… It was seriously a blessing because we found an amazingggg coordinator!!!

dont get frustrated during wedding planning with someone who is inexperienced and unprofessional. had a horrible experience with Ashkan. Similar to the reviews below, he misleads his potential clients in the beginning and tries to impress but once hired, all is revealed and you realize you have unfortunately made a mistake. So many things went wrong both during the planning and day of which left us all scrambling due to the lack of experience Ash has. Unfortunately it was our role to step up in the midst of everything and take over what we paid for him to do. What a waste. Can honestly go on and on about all the things that went wrong and not as it should have… To add to the frustration, he doesnt even care to know your thoughts after you have expressed you were unhappy to actually learn and grow his business. Shame. Do yourself a favor, and look elsewhere. Wish we would have known!

Planning a wedding in less then 3 months is crazy, but with Ashkan Barkhordar’s help with Coordination and Vendor set up it is truly possible. I met him half way into my planning, but was so grateful I spent the money. It was the best money we spent on the wedding, he was worth every penny and then some.
The day of the wedding everyone asked me why I was so calm and relaxed I said because Ashkan (Dream Events) has everything under control. He is great at last minute issues like forgetting to rent a riser for the ceremony. He rents many items for wedding and etc, like Chivary chairs, white dance floor, linens, glassware and etc.
He does it all. He called all my vendors and got them to arrive on time. He set up my floor plan which looked amazing. Best part was the night of the wedding I had a girl to follow me around, for bathroom breaks, food, drinks, napkins, etc anything I wanted she was there.
My friends and family were in Ahhhhhhhhhh at how on top of it his team is. My bustle for my dress came off and three of his staff came running over and sewed it while I was taking pics with family. So Cool. My wedding was ahead of schedule and for a Persian wedding that never happens.
