Dan Behroozan, MD

Dr. Behroozan is by far the best Dermatologist I have ever had. I am 29 years old with a history of skin cancer and have seen multiple specialists throughout Los Angeles over the past few years. Dr. Behroozan is the only Doctor I have seen that made me feel comfortable due to his professionalism, bed side manner as a physician, and expertise. I had to have Mohs surgery on my forehead, and there is literally no scar due to his skill as a Surgeon. Finding a Dermatologist that is skilled, professional, and makes you feel comfortable is very rare. I worked in Pharmaceutical Sales for 5 years, and he is definitely the best out there– not to mention his office is littered with awards.

Being new to the area it’s hard to find a good Dermatologist with an AMAZING staff. Everyone is so nice and pleasant. The wait time to see the doctors is very minimal. They are very thorough and explain everything. It’s hard to find doctors that actually care about their clients! Shanéa, the Aesthetician, is the BOMB! I’ve had her do a chemical peel, this is my first, and she explained everything to me and made me feel so comfortable. She also did my Microderm which was FABULOUS! I can’t say enough how wonderful everyone is at the Dermatology Institute! Keep up the GREAT work!!!

Hands down the best dermatologist in Los Angeles! Dr. B not only listens to your concerns, but he doesn’t rush your appointment time & is honest about what you need. Dr. Behroozan and his staff are amazing! I have seen maybe 8 different dermatologists and spent thousands upon thousands of dollars in antibiotics, topical creams, you name it! I had moderate chronic acne that I started getting when I was 19 and spent over 7 years trying to get a hold on it. My back was the worst part. I couldn’t even wear tank tops.
He was recommended to me by another doctor and from the first second he saw me he said, «Why haven’t you been put on Accutane???»
BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE. Sure you have chapped as hell lips and dry skin but after only 3 months, my skin was incredible! (Accutane has significant risks, but follow the rules and it’s not that big of a deal)
Dr. Behroozan is right to the point and I love that about him. He could have put me on a bunch of creams and had me come back every month to see my progression costing me tons, but he didn’t waste my time or my money and that is so very important!!!
His staff is incredible, especially Karina who went above and beyond to help me get the best price for my prescription when my insurance was being lame.
What more could you ask for!!!
PS if you’re on Accutane and you’re looking for a moisturizer that will help with that awful flaking skin, buy Dr. Behroozan’s Repair cream. It is worth the price and saved me from looking like a reptile! I sound like a commercial, but it’s seriously the real deal!

Dr. Behroozan has been nothing short of amazing! I have been seeing him since 2012. He is kind and you can tell he really does care. He spends plenty of time with me to discuss whatever issue I may be having. I have come to him for many things… Rashes, eczema, acne, moles, kenelog shots, and lip injections. I get amazing chemical peels and Micro derm abrasion facials as well from his spectacular esthetian. I buy all his products as well. I have never had a doctor treat me so well, and his personality, humor and kindness is something you don’t get very often from doctors these days. The kenelog shots for my cystic acne are absolutely painless. Also the lip injections were painless as well. He is super talented when it comes to injecting you carefully. I am very hard on myself because I get self conscious of my acne but he has been so wonderful in treating it and prescribing the right oral and topical medication for me. He always is super sweet because he knows I am embarrassed. I highly highly recommended Dr. Daniel Behroozan. Such a kind hearted man who truly cares about his patients. I am forever grateful to him and his very kind staff.

He’s terrible at following up or returning any sort of calls even if you express concern or feel you have an emergency like I recently did. Never heard back from him or his office and he wouldn’t see me that week– I get being busy, but then at least call your patient and have a conversation with them in the interim… Just seems like he doesn’t care. He also left a huge scar from removing a mole that he said «would definitely not scar» not sure if that’s his fault or not, but just saying… He’s not the best.

Dr. Behroozan has been my dermatologist for 8 years. He is extremely professional, intelligent, easily accessible, honest and above all very through with his routine skin checks. He cares very deeply for his patients and it truly shows.
I owe a lot to Dr. B who has helped me many times:
Recently he noticed an abnormal mole on my thigh. After a biopsy was done at UCLA Path lab I was shocked to see the results. It was on course to develop into something very serious. He called me and cleared a spot for me the very next day to remove the surrounding area. The minor procedure consisted of zero pain, minimal incision, and with the right wound care instruction from his team — no noticeable scar.
Four years back I noticed a small cyst on my lower back on my belt line. As a typical procrastinating man my age would do, I decided just to wait until the next skin check to mention it. Big mistake. It became extremely painful and began to swell drastically over one weekend. I emailed his team (on a Saturday) and they got me in on Monday. The cyst had ruptured under the skin and Dr. B quickly removed. Again no pain or scarring — literally a small dot the size of a pencil eraser that’s completely unnoticeable is all that remains after the procedure.
In my late 20’s i noticed my hairline beginning to recede. Dr. B prescribed Propecia along with daily usage of over the counter Rogaine foam. Talk about a turn around… wow! My hairline not only stopped receding I grew back what I had lost. My hair is as thick and as full as it was 7 years ago. Game changing for any guy that has felt the embarrassment that comes hair loss in their 20s.

Love this doctor!!! I’m usually really scared of needles but I went to Dr. Behroozan to remove a mole and he was super gentle! The mole removal was painless and took less than 2 minutes all together. He was sweet and his office staff was very welcoming.

I had a previous experience with a dermatologist who spent all but 5 minutes with me, prescribed a $ 200 acne medication, and that was the end. Turns out the medication didn’t work b/​c I didnt have acne.
Dr Behroozan and his staff make you feel very comfortable. I got a complete body exam for my skin, felt comfortable asking about questionable issues with my skin and I am very satisfied with the steps the doctor took with me.

I can’t say enough good about this doctor. He has been so nice and respectful to my very modest daughter, and helpful to me. He used the minimal treatment needed rather than trying to convince me to do, and spend, more. I fully trust him and only wish he were a pediatrician! The staff is very nice and helpful as well.

Dr. Berhroozan, or Dan, as he asked me to call him, is a top-​notch doctor, with a service level and genuine passion for what he does that is above and beyond what I’ve experienced with all other medical providers.
He cares deeply about the service he provides, and that’s evident. I’ve never written a review before about doctor (or have even seen a dermatologist prior for that matter) but a service level such as this more than warrants the compliment, and written recognition. This extends to his entire front & back office in his practice.
To share some details of my experience;
+ He is on time. I mean precisely on time, to the minute. This efficiency is much appreciated and is rare with doctors today. It’s show of care and respect towards me as the patient. He gets to the point and does what he’s great at.
+ He is direct and clear. Communicates clear expectations upfront, without ambiguity and leaves the decision to you. I felt informed enough to decide on my treatment, and also trusted his experience.
+ He cares. It’s obvious. He’s warm, cares about doing a good job for you, and tells you what «he would do if it was him» and what he would not do. What more can you ask for? His level of expertise is demonstrated. He was humble and warm towards me. It’s actually nice when your doctor has a sense of humor and acts human.
+ Awesome staff. Everyone friendly, welcoming, warm and laid back. Happiness matters and it translates to the service provided. There is relaxed, but professional and focused environment. You feel welcomed and cared for vs. languishing in some waiting room playing with forms.
+ Technology. Has just about every cool laser on earth and knows his craft. You get an online profile, clear before & after pics, clear course of treatment, etc. Not stuck in some previous bygone era…
+ Results. I went for 2 v-​beam treatments on a scar from an injury. The results were outstanding. My expectations were met & exceeded. Took the pigment out and the scar is hardly noticeable. The cost was also fair and competitive based on my research.

I love my boyfriend, but I love him more for introducing me to Dr. Behroozan! I was never blessed with flawless skin… battled acne all my life… and dreamed about one day having clear skin so I could walk out the door without having to put my face on… Well, that day is almost near… all thanks to Dr. Behroozan and his staff. I have been seeing him for 5 months and I must say… he is truly a phenomenal MD. He had me at hello with a firm handshake, eye contact, and a smile! Have you met doctors these days? Jeez louise… you wonder why they ever got in a field of working with people when they lack basic social skills, but not Dr. Behroozan. Aside from being highly skilled and knowledgeable in his field, he has the best bedside manners – compassionate, a great listener, and really funny! Also, his staff is the warmest group of women I’ve ever encountered in a medical establishment. When my fiancé initially told me to go see Dr. Behroozan, and I found out that he has two offices, one in Beverly Hills and the other in Santa Monica, I was a little intimidated since my idea of getting dressed up these days is wearing skinny jeans with a loose top and most days during the week, I’m in my scrubs! However, from my first appointment to every single appointment thereafter, the staff has always welcomed me with a real smile… and even hugs! I feel good walking in and feel even better walking out. I don’t feel like I am going in for a medical appointment, but really, just to visit a group of friends. :) I actually get happy walking in and I see Crystal with her gorgeous smile and down to earth personality… get giddy seeing Sandy with her infectious personality who makes me feel like I’m visiting an old friend, and Shanea… who I see as the calming beam of light, young and beautiful with sage-​like wisdom who offers me the best recommendations for everything. Dr. Behroozan and his staff have incorporated today’s technology to deliver efficiency without missing a beat of providing individualized attention and care. I have a couple more months to go in regards to acne, but really, my face is completely clear! Dr. Behroozan will always tell me, «You’re gonna love me!» and I always think, «Dr. Behroozan, are you crazy? I already love you! My experience with the Dermatology Institute of SoCal was hands-​down, the best I’ve ever had. After one visit, Dr. B. was able to effectively treat what two previous doctors had been unable to do, with any success.
Moreover, Dr. B. always takes the time to explain and answer specific questions about procedures and treatments. Dr. Behroozan is a dermatological angel sent from heaven! It all started off with an extreme case of cystic adult acne at the ripe age of 31. The kind of acne that hurt — even to rest my head on a pillow. I’m generally not a self-​conscious person, but my skin had reached a point where going out in public, even with makeup on, was hard. Coming to work and interacting with clients was especially embarrassing because I felt like people were constantly looking at the mounds on my face. As soon as one pimple would heal, another would pop up elsewhere, until my face was a full blown pizza! I had never dealt with severe acne growing up, only the occasional monthly pimple caused by hormones. Definitely nothing as extreme as it had become over the last year or so.
I tried everything — I bought a plethora of OTC treatments — none worked (proactiv didn’t work either). I would try at home remedies — those didn’t work (side note — toothpaste burned my skin lol!). I went to an aesthetician who would do acne extractions and facials — other than looking like a meth addict, those did nothing for me. I even changed up my diet to no avail. Something wasn’t right!
I went to see Dr. Behroozan, and he took action! Right away he said that I could continue using the OTC stuff til the cows come home, but my problem seemed to be internal, and that’s why nothing was working. So he put me on a high dose of antibiotics (doxycycline) and a triple threat of topical creams and face wash. Within the first week the number of cystic pimples/​inflammation reduced. The pain slowly went away too. And now, not only has my skin cleared up, It’s got a glow to it, and people actually compliment me on my skin.
I know it sounds cheesy and even somewhat dramatic, but no one can understand the mental issues you face when your face is as gross as mine was, until you actually go through it yourself — especially at my age. Thanks Dr. Behroozan — I can say that you honestly changed my life!!! :)

I wish I could remember how I found him. I think he was recommended on a forum.
I found him after I went to a HORRIBLE consultation with a company that advertizes on the radio a lot (check my reviews). He was reasonably priced and very personable. It seems he reads all the contact forms that come from his website and remembered mine when I came in.
He used a laser on capillaries and when it didn’t take, did a redo for free.
Seems like an honest, caring doc!
