History

Established in 1990.

Yaron S. Rabinowitz M.D. moved to California after completing his Cornea fellowships at USC and Johns Hopkins University. Since then he has had a premier referral practice in Cornea and Refractive Eye Surgery. He was chief of Ophthalmology at Cedars Sinai where he started the first refractive surgery group to use bladeless technology for LASIK and Corneal Transplantation. He is world renowned for his research and innovative treatments for Keratoconus a corneal disease of young people and the most common cause of corneal transplantation in young adults. He has been a pioneer in laser transplants for keratoconus, INTACS for keratoconus and collagen cross linking for keratoconus. He is the principal investigator for some of the largest cross linking, genetic and stem cell studies of keratoconus in the world. He is a Clinical Professor at UCLA and Director of Eye research at Cedars-​Sinai. Patients from all over the world consult him for his research and new treatments of keratoconus.

Yaron S. Rabinowitz, M.D., is an internationally recognized corneal specialist and one of the best LASIK surgeons in Los Angeles. He was the first surgeon in the Los Angeles area to perform individually customized LASIK procedures comprising three unique components: 1) Down-​up LASIK; 2) Bladeless (IntraLase) thin flaps and 3) Allegretto Wave ‘Wavefront’ optimized laser. (The safest, fastest and most technologically advanced LASIK procedure available). He was also the first surgeon in LA to perform corneal transplants with a laser. As a Clinical Professor at UCLA and Director of Eye Research at Cedars-​Sinai Medical Center, he has received multiple government grants for his top groundbreaking research.
