Church of the Good Shepherd

Went to Ash Wednesday services this afternoon during lunch and the place was packed… but, everyone was so helpful in getting people a seat if they could and ashes. They even distributed ashes after the Mass for people who came at the end or late. The parking lot is small… not alot of spots, but, there are city lots across the street which had openings.

I’ve been going to this church for 5 years! One of the best Catholic Churches I’ve been to in the U. S! So pretty!

This place is awful! Tried to call the place to inquire about getting a schedule for my baby’s baptismal rights. Worst service ever! I would have gotten a better response from a satanic cult than from this place. They called me names and mocked my race. I wouldn’t call them a catholic church, a true catholic wouldn’t have that kind of tongue. Stay away from this place if I were you.

While this is a small church compared to other ones I’ve been to, it is has a nice and welcoming community. I came here for a baptism which was done after the regular Sunday mass. it was a nice service and very accommodating

I have passed by this Catholic church all my life and finally decided to attend mass here to see the inside of the church. Sometimes I feel like attending mass at random places for a change even wherever I travel.
I would imagine that this church is well funded because of its location. It has a great website that accepts contributions online. I have never seen that before.
If you find yourself in the area, I recommend a visit to attend a mass here. The mass here is no different than any other church in Los Angeles. They did have a «Sunday sip» after the mass which I think happens once a month.
This is a place where you can be easily distracted by all the great people watching you can do in here. If you want to focus on the mass, I recommend sitting at one of the front pews.
Don’t be surprised to see celebrities in here. I saw a celeb who is a known BH resident the afternoon I attended mass.
Remember we’re Angelenos — we don’t bother celebrities, especially while in church.

Very nice healing Mass a few Sundays ago. Large congregation. They seem to be a very involved parish. Really liked the sermon too.
I found plenty of street parking, which is good.
The is a wonderful Catholic church right in Beverly Hills.

I was born & raised Catholic… I always looked for a Parish with welcoming arms and this is the place! I love this Parish, everyone is very friendly and if they aren’t you let me know! We always do a lot for the community as well as getting together all the parishioners. If you would like to become Catholic or fulfill your sacraments we have a wonderful program that will get you there. God Bless.

Been going here for 5 years now and what can i say. Fr. Tom et al have been very accomodating and they really try to get to know you. We come here for the ambience itself. It’s very bright and «cheery». When i moved in the westside, I tried to attend church which is three blocks away from me other than Good Shepherd, I noticed the big difference and I kind of appreciated the atmosphere of Good Shepherd. Really nice community. They also have Sunday sips although haven’t been to one, they also have luncheons (if there’s a new ordained priest), a magic show by a priest (yes a magic show in church!!)

Joined their Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults («RCIA»), a 1.5 year process where interested adults and older children are introduced to the Roman Catholic faith and way of life.
Baptized over the Easter weekend.
HALLELUJAH!
Ask for SISTER VIRGINIA, who heads the RCIA.
Fierce and cuddly, all in one.
Our Pastor, FATHER TOM, is one of the best around town.
Compassionate, understanding, and unmistakably cool.
And the church! SO much history and beauty.
Stained glass windows, marble alter, etc.
Mass is gorgeous.
Sometimes you get the choir and sometimes you get one of those heart-​wrenching homilies.
Great volunteer opportunities, social media connected (with a nice website), and plenty of programs for everyone.
This was one of the memorable spiritual journeys I have gladly endured.

Very nice Catholic Church — simplistic and welcoming! Really enjoyed the past few sermons.

I went to Catholic school for 12 years and grew up going to Church every Sunday (and every other Tuesday while in school) so I have kind of become a connoisseur of churches. While I’m more of a fan of the gothic style in terms of architecture, I’ve made an exception for this place. It’s very small and welcoming, and reminds me of my home church back in Michigan. They even have really classy events after mass sometimes like a cocktail hour with wine and appetizers! I’m happy to have found a place that feels like home, it’s worth the extra drive from Koreatown :-)
