HORRIBLE!!! He was so negative and cold. He actually told me that my chances in Vegas were zero. He said I could not Consider Shots or IVF but that my ONLY chance was an egg donor, 60k. Happy to say I did not continue with him, but on my own with a more positive doctor & just ovulation strips got preggo in 3 months of trying and have now a healthy 6 month old boy. F**ck this guy and his absolute negative attitude. He told me it was impossible and refused… He’s just after your money. Even my obgyn at Kaiser had heard what a scoundrel he is. And btw, I happen to have a couple friends Who did all those initial blood and fertility test for much cheaper in Los Angeles, the same exact test for $ 800 so use them to know your chances and real numbers rather than spending over triple to use this guys lab for him you should be able to trust any certified laboratory tests in LA (but insists he will only look at his own which makes it about 2,800)

I would not recommend Dr. Naj to anyone looking for the most thorough fertility clinic. He was dismissive of our chances to get pregnant and suggested one kid was enough for our family. Upon switching clinics we learned he did not offer us all the fertility options but jumped to IVF right away. Our new doctor was apparently a professor to Dr. Naj and shook his head when learning the advice/​treatment we received from him. We had a quick and successful pregnancy at the new clinic without using IVF. I’m sorry we wasted time with Dr. Naj.

to make a long story long. he was the third RE my hubby and I interviewed. He spoke to us like we had a brain, the one before didn’t, he is straightforward which I like, he isn’t just taking your money. We had tried multiple IUI’s over the years, btw we have been ttc for TEN years. I am also in health care and I know a lot about infertility, so I told him we wanted to keep trying IUI’s because it was 100% covered by my ins. After the S. A and HSG he told us that it was VERY unlikely that we would have success. I argued with him of course. He said he would make more money off me with multiple IUI’s than one IVF cycle. I was like Oh. I thought about it and called him a couple of days later. Well to Michelle S. we are far from rich, my hubby is in school and makes about $ 200 a week at work. I’m an R. N making less than average cost of living pay for L. A county because we don’t have a Union at work. With car note and mortgage and paying my student loans off… well enough said. We told him we couldn’t pay yet. He said due to my HgA1C being high he wouldn’t perform IVF yet anyway. So to come back in three months to check my A1C level again even if we couldn’t go ahead. Well we took out yet another loan and begged family members for any help. I went back. My A1C improved, he asked if we were yet able I said almost he said lets make a calendar just in case. so we did. we make two one for April one for may. we decided on May praying that we would have all the $$$. He has made us feel hopeful and has taken the time to ask questions, his staff are knowledgeable and really helped us maximize our ins. IVF is NOT covered by our ins. btw. I love this Dr. He DOES NOT just WANT YOUR MONEY. you have to remember it is a business. the staff and he also have to eat and pay their bills… hello. :look at his entire website. Many of your questions are answered. He makes himself readily available. I recommend him over the others I have seen. One of whom is also in Beverly hills. Trust me you get what you pay for, he is worth every penny.

Dr. Sam Najmabadi and his staff have been incredible to me during my fertility process. He has always gone above and beyond through my experience freezing embryos, through a miscarriage and through a 2^nd attempt at pregnancy.
I’m now 6 months pregnant and don’t think I could have done it without the support of Dr. Naj and his team.

A couple of years ago, I looked at Najmabadi’s website and sent an email inquiry asking about IVF success rates and whether they had multiple cycle packages. To my surprise, this Najmabadi character replied directly to me. He said the success rate info was somewhere on the site. When I asked again about pricing, he actually said, «If you are concerned about price, I am not the doctor for you.» Hahaha. What a completely superficial asshole. We found a much better doctor elsewhere and with great success.

I highly recommend Dr. Najmabadi. With his help, we now have a healthy eight-​month-​old baby boy who is the giggling, crawling, babbling light of our lives.
Was it an easy process? Absolutely not. Along the way, we had some devastating disappointments and a terrible scare. It was not easy coming to terms with the fact that a donor would be our best option at my «advanced maternal age.» But through it all, Dr. Najmabadi treated me with respect, honesty, an appropriate amount of optimism, and when needed, a much-​appreciated hug. I sat in his office on more than one occasion and asked for the straight scoop. He was forthright with his professional opinion while still being kind. When I thought I lost the baby, he called me back immediately on a Sunday and calmed me down. The next day, we got to see the first glimpse of our little guy, still there, growing strong.
I’m not exactly sure why Dr. Naj. is so polarizing in these reviews. My guess is that people assume his clients are all rich given his location (we are not even close to rich), or his personality simply doesn’t mesh well with everyone in a trying time. In my opinion, anytime you undertake fertility treatments, you have to be realistic about the limitations of doctors and science. I didn’t expect him to work miracles. I expected him to be a good doctor and a good human being. He is both. When it was time to move on to to our regular OB, my husband and I were both sad to no longer see him. I look forward to introducing him to our son.

Dr. Naj and his staff were the reason why my husband and I could go on to successfully conceive our baby. We had been to three other IVF hospitals over two years, but Dr. Naj’s endocrinology background, attention to detail, a team that fully handles much of the tests, surgical procedures and even freezing & thawing of eggs/​embryos on site made the whole process easier.
As conception, when older, is especially dependent on timing of hormones, treatments, and many other factors that need to be tightly reviewed and managed, Dr. Naj & his team were the best IVF team we’ve ever worked with.
Even better than UCSF or Stanford IVF centers that cost nearly the same, but were disjointed & led to too many failures due to missed details by the doctors. As IVF is an investment of time and money toward invaluable potential result, I’d highly recommend seeking out Dr. Naj and his team toward building your family.

Dr. Najmabadi and his staff are very friendly and professional. A male friend recommended him to me after he and his wife got pregnant twice through their office.
He is very thoughtful, caring and truthful. IVF is very daunting in general but he and his staff have made things go smoothly. Any paperwork or billing issues are cleared up right away. There have never been any problems with prescriptions. He has streamlined the whole process. He quickly responds to phone calls, emails and text messages.
He and his staff were very helpful and concerned when I went through a miscarriage with treatment. I am still continuing to see him for another treatment. I highly recommend him for at least a consultation. His expertise and approachable personality are unparalleled.

Thought I’d do a quick update to this review. My IVF course was a challenge — we got plenty of eggs, but they were not high quality and many did not progress. For those that did, the genetic testing revealed we had only one viable egg to implant. Anyone who has been thought this knows those are not great odds.
I was crestfallen, but instead of letting me focus on having «only one» after all we’d been through, Dr. Naj got me focused on that fact that we HAD one, and it was a perfect little four cell embryo. And thanks to Dr. Naj our one egg, one try = one baby and we now have an amazing two year old who is the picture of health and wonder.
We beat the odds once, and are on the verge of preparing to try to do it again. We wouldn’t roll those dice with anyone but Dr. Naj.
And for the record, I think it’s really cruddy that Unilocal has filtered all the great reviews for Dr. Naj. I guess Dr. Naj is too focused on helping people build their families to buy an ad. Luckily, most people are hip to the Unilocal game now, and automatically load the filtered reviews to get the real scoop.

I have been working with surgeons and surgery centers for many years. after interviewing handful of physicians I have to say Dr. Najmabadi is by far the most knowledgeable, friendly, and caring physician. I LOVE the fact I did not have to go through nurses to answer my questions. I would always get a respond back within 15 min from HIM =)))). My procedure went very well!!! SUPER HAPPY WITH MY DECISION!!!

I love Dr Naj! He is amazing as a doctor and as a human being. Two years ago he performed surgery on my fibroids. I was seeing another doctor at the time and Dr Naj was the one I went to for a second opinion. Although these two doctors are friends, they had a completely different approach to the surgery that I needed. My original doctor wanted to do a very invasive surgery that would take two months to heal from and could cause fertility issues down the line. My beliefs were in line with Dr Naj’s noninvasive approach. I went from bleeding to death prior to surgery to one day after the surgery, no more bleeding. The color returned to my face and my energy restored within days. I was dangerously anemic prior to the surgery. Dr Naj saved my life!!!
I am happy to say I am now pregnant! I am finishing my first trimester, it saddens me to have to find an OB for the second trimester through delivery. I would stay with Dr Naj throughout this entire process if I could.
My husband loves Dr Naj as well. He has a great sense of humor and never makes anything seem like a big deal. When we found out we were pregnant, he was just as happy as we were!
The staff at CRHG are amazing as well. Always kind and efficient and punctual. We never waited in the office for more than a few minutes!
AND he takes my insurance, Aetna.

I have a healthy baby thanks to Dr. Naj and his staff. I was recommended by a friend who had gotten pregnant with twins through Dr. Naj’s help.
Dr. Naj doesn’t have the warmest personality at first, but he truly cares about you and your situation. He will answer any questions and will help you to understand what is happening. I unfortunately went through some tough times with our treatments. He and his staff were awesome.
I never had any billing issues and they were great helping me get receipts so I could submit invoices for my medical spending account. They helped me with getting my prescriptions in order and were very responsive when I needed a new prescription or refill.
He has early morning appointments which were great for me — so I can avoid traffic and get to work on time. The clinic is small and the staff is very friendly. Some of the best nurses and ultrasound techs. Once nice thing is that the surgical center is attached to his clinic — so you are in a familiar place for those procedures.

My friend and his wife were going through infertility and couldn’t get pregnant. After 1 unsuccessful IVF attempt with a horrible specialist, my friend did extensive research and decided to to consult with Dr. Najmabadi at the Center of Reproductive Health and Gynecology.
At their first consult, which took about 1.5 hours, his wife felt very comfortable with Dr. Naj since he took an adequate time reviewing previous IVF papers and evaluating their situation. Compare this with their previous doctor who would give them an attitude if they asked any questions.
Fast forward a few months with a different protocol and they are pregnant with a healthy fetus. If all goes well they will have a healthy boy or girl next year.
In my opinion, most of the negative comments on here are from likely competitors or others who blame a great doctor for their infertility issues. Folks keep in mind, after all, no matter how good of a job a doctor does, ultimately it’s up to god.
As stated, my friend did a lot of research after the first incident and found out that this facility is rated number 2 in California after University of California San Diego (
). They also have great success numbers according to Society for Assisted Reproductive Technologies (
).
I suggest you do your research and pick the doctor you feel most comfortable with as this is crucial for the mother according to my friend.

I am reposting as Unilocal keeps filtering my review along with any other positive reviews. Is this something to contact the BBB regarding? Unilocal are you charging businesses to keep their good reviews? What is the deal?
Here’s the review:
The fertility process is difficult at best. It often involves much disappointment and struggle before leading to something wonderful (for the lucky ones). After many rounds of IVF and tens of thousands of dollars with a different doctor in Santa Monica, a dear friend talked me into visiting Dr. Najmabadi. She was one of eight women who had gone to him to get pregnant. All of them (but her) were successful and she only could say the most loving things about Dr. Naj. Before meeting with Dr. Naj, I knew that I didn’t have many tries left in me for IVF, both physically and financially.
At the first consultation with him, we went through all my records. He found two issues that needed to be addressed and recommended diagnostic testing. I had had some of the testing done before (though when inquiring to my past fertility doctor she could not find them or have them in my records but I had receipts for all of them). Thank goodness we repeated these tests because Dr. Naj spotted and addressed the problems that were getting in the way of me becoming pregnant.
But the challenges were not over yet. He, thank goodness, recommended PGD testing. It turned out we had only one good embryo out of 8! And the one that was healthy did not to the trained eye look the best! We implanted the embryo and hoped it would work out. At 6 weeks, I almost lost the pregnancy but was put on strict (yes, Dr. Naj was strict for this and it was much needed) bed rest for two weeks. Long story short, at 39 weeks I delivered the most gorgeous son — healthy and happy!
I write all these details because I went through the pain and agony of having a poor experience with a different doctor. Unless my friend had not pushed me to see Dr. Najmabadi I would not have the gorgeous son I do have and be working towards diving in again for my second. I can’t say enough thanks and express enough gratitude to Dr. Najmabadi.

First of all, I just find it so absurd for Unilocal to filter the 5-​star reviews for Dr Naj and just show the bad reviews. If this review gets filtered and trashed, I will complain to Unilocal’s management and to Consumer Protection Agency because this website is misleading us and denying most consumers or in this case, most patients seeking help, to be provided with excellent care by an excellent doctor.
I’m a doctor myself and became a patient of Dr Naj on March 2012. My husband and I were trying to conceive for 7 years, had tried 2 IVFs with another Infertility specialist in OC before we tried with Dr Naj. My first IVF resulted in miscarriage at 8 wks and second was a failure. Finally, our friend who was a doctor as well, referred us to Dr Naj. He took a thorough history which is very pertinent to everyone’s diagnosis and management. I was told before that I have PCOS, which I wasn’t convinced at all since I do have very regular menstrual cycle. Dr. Naj said the same thing, PCOS is ruled out.
He performed all the pre-​diagnostic testings that were necessary prior to my IVF. I then underwent an IVF, which is my 3^rd and 1^st with Dr Naj. He kept us updated everyday about the quality of the embryos, which wasn’t done by my previous IVF doc. He had to transfer 2 embryos on Day 3, because the quality of the other 2 were downgraded. But before that, he first informed us of other options whether to wait for 2 more days for the embryos to reach the blastocyst stage or do a PGD. He would provide you with informed consent which is important for every doctor to tell their patients before proceeding with any decision.
Anyhow, Day 3 transfer done and was successful. I’m now 21 weeks pregnant. I had problems with my first trimester like spotting and severe urticarial rashes. Dr. Naj listened to every concern I have and accomodated us in his office even on Sunday. He would return my call in a timely manner eventhough he’s on a formal function. Not to mention, that I live 150 miles from LA and had to drive almost 2.5 hrs to Beverly Hills, Dr Naj and the staff considered this and would squeeze us in their schedule.
Overall, my husband and I were very pleased and satisfied with the care we got from Dr. Naj and his staff. He’s very professional, and knowledgeable. He communicates well and would answer your queries appropriately. I will definitely come back to him for another cycle and will highly recommend him.

I am also very surprised to see the negative comments here on Unilocal. But if you look at the filtered reviews they are all 5 star reviews. I don’t really get how Unilocal can do that to a physician or business. It really messes with their reputation. Please read the filtered reviews on Dr. Naj. They are much closer to reality.
If you look on SAART and CDC websites, Dr. Naj has the best success AND safety rates around. I have seen him over the course of the last 2 years for infertility. Not only is he knowledgeable, he is extremely dedicated to his work and his patients. Part of my IVF cycle landed at time that he was taking a rare family vacation. He called everyday for updates on my case and skypes with his office daily to keep track of the patients. That way there is no delay in anyone’s IVF cycle. This man works every single day even when he is on vacation.
I thought he was kind and encouraging through a very difficult process. His staff was the same, kind and caring. I see many people complaining about billing etc. Well, the fact is IVF is expensive everywhere. There is just no getting around that. If you’re looking for bargain IVF, chances are you’re not going to get the best MD.
Please be careful about shopping for an MD on Unilocal. Like I said, why in the world would Unilocal filter out twenty one 5 star reviews and leave five 1 star reviews up for everyone to see. It’s OK to pick a restaurant on Unilocal, but I’d be very wary about picking an MD this way.

Well I wasn’t going to write this review because I am a if you can’t say something nice don’t say anything kind of gal. Also as an independent business person I don’t want the karma of bagging. But after several ok (but unsuccessful) fertility treatments with Dr. Naj where I really drank the Dr. Naj is god kool-​aid I have to say ultimately I realized that he was either incompetent in my case, or deliberately didn’t succeed so I would keep trying (ie keep spending $). Their billing department is also all kinds of messed up, double charging and charging for things they say they won’t. The good news is I am 7 months pregnant naturally now.
Yes, I am an older woman, almost 42 when I first went in, but according to all the tests I have great egg quantity and quality. But after 3 IUIs and 1 IVF I had 2 chemical pregnancies. So we decided to test to other issues and found I had Hashimotos, a thyroid disorder.
Well if he had paid any attention when I was giving my history he would have tested for that upfront (actually it should be standard protocol to test for that upfront because thyroid disorders are a major cause of infertility), I have had PCOS, was a premie, my mom had a thyroid disorder, I’m really short and look young, I have a hard time losing weight, have hair in odd places, etc.
So after we realized that I had Hashimotos he did add more folic acid to my supplements for the next round of IVF. The egg fertilized! We (very expensively) tested it to see if it was a «good» embryo and it was. She implanted fine! Then around my 6^th week I started to bleed and it looked iffy, meanwhile my hair was falling out in clumps, which according to google meant a thyroid issue. I begged him to address the thyroid issue but he didn’t and so I had a miscarriage, which was of course the most upsetting thing to ever happen to me in my life.
We talked about dealing with the thyroid issue on another round of IVF but he felt I was too borderline to really need medication for it. After the miscarriage Dr, Naj told me the embryo was bad after all. I asked for a refund of the test and he wouldn’t give it to me. That was quite a red flag.
After seeing a fertility therapist I decided to stop trying, take a break, maybe look at adoption in a few years. I also read a great book on Thyroid disorders which clued me into the fact that Dr. Naj’s «normal thyroid range» and what is really the accepted range for pregnancy now is quite different. Also that while folic acid is helpful, I also should have been taking Potassium Iodide and Selenium which are generally thyroid supportive.
So I started to take those supplements to support my thyroid and help me lose the fertility drug weight. They worked great. Then about 6 months after the miscarriage I got pregnant naturally. The day I found out I ran to my regular gyno and begged her to put me on thyroid meds, which after testing me and finding me high in the real range, (normal in Dr. Naj’s range) she put me on a low dose of synthyroid and I have had a super normal pregnancy so far.
So basically, I am not infertile, my husband clearly doesn’t have any major issues and all it took to get me pregnant was $ 20 worth of supplements and a doctor who actually paid attention to me.
Truly I think that Dr. Naj’s issue is that he is a bit self impressed and not inclined to really listen. Also he makes things more complex, he acted like I was this oddity — the girl with great eggs who refused to get pregnant. When if he had just paid attention a little bit he would have figured it out and I would have gone on his success list. But he’s a busy fabulous Beverly Hills guy with Lakers season tickets, why listen?
So meanwhile the billing department is trying to double bill me for stuff and bill me for stuff they said they wouldn’t. Once I got pregnant and called to have my records sent up to my regular gyno they stopped calling me to the $. But now a collection agency called. Don’t they realize they should be glad I am not suing them? Apparently the stuff you sign before every procedure saying you agree to arbitration is meaningless. Well they will be hearing from my lawyer.
My husband never really dug Dr. Naj, but like I said I drank the Kool-​Aid. Given my experience I think that fertility is a racket generally and that CRH&G just part of that. Nice nurses tho.

Wow, really surprised to see the negative comments when I came to review Dr. Naj’s office, and definitely don’t agree, I found Dr. Naj to be friendly and VERY knowledgable. His staff was truly concerned for what we were going through and very sincere. I’ve referred many friends to their office as well. I was additionally impressed with the way the staff handled my concerns regarding billing, what we could and could not bill insurance and then assisting when I received my explanation from the insurance which is VERY confusing. I would definitely continue to rec this office to ANYONE!

I was referred to Dr. Sam Najmabadi through by OB/​GYN after trying to conceive my second child for more than one year.
I was very upset to read about the prior reviews about him.
On my first visit (through my HMO) I had a one on one consult with him. We went through my OB history, my battles on trying to conceive, and even my social life and how it can affect me trying to get pregnant. He listen to me as a person and not a price tag. During my first consultation the cost of any type of procedure was never discussed, because we were trying to figure out the problem. At the end of our consult which was about 45 minutes, he gave me hope and faith that one day it will happen and If it doesn’t that I should be thankful that I have a normal perfect three year old.
His consultation was then followed by an ultrasound that was performed in his office. An ultrasound technician performed the exam and he was present the entire time going though each individual finding and assuring me that we will find a solution to my infertility.
Dr. Najmabadi is an excellent doctor who is very knowledgeable and has the most gracious bedside manner. Now I am not trying to say this will be a cost effective treatment, but I knew that before coming in, but no one has ever given me as much hope than he has.
Finally after going through several diagnostic procedures we met again and it wasn’t till then we talked money. He recommend for me and my husband to try an IUI, which is an insemination. He was very reasonable and affordable. Unfortunately my hours were cut in half at work and my husbands job is unsteady. He recommended that maybe we should hold off till next year since I was too stressed at the moment. Now what kind of doctor will do that for you.

I saw Dr: Sam Najmabadi after my regular OB/​GYN referred me to him.
His initial exam was thorough, but he completely lacks any type of bedside manner, or interpersonal skills.
After a $ 500 consult, complete with an in-​house ultrasound, I was told I had a less than 5% chance of getting pregnant at age 45.
I didn’t really stay his patient long enough to evaluate his expertise any further than this. But, just based upon the way he handles things, you can tell he’s accustomed to a certain type (read: rich, top 1%) patient who can pay for his services without batting an eyelash.
Now for us REGULAR people who have medical insurance, and who have to get up everyday and work hard for our money (the «99 percenters»), I don’t think he’s the right doctor, however skilled he may be.
Bottom line, in a city as large as L.A., this doctor does not have a monopoly on expertise or knowledge about infertility and reproductive endocrinology.
Do your own research and keep shopping around — You and your wallet will be glad that you did.
