History
Established in 2009.
Chef Samir Mohajer is a Santa Monica native and graduate of California School of Culinary Arts (aka Cordon Bleu Academy). Samir spent nearly five years at Axe restaurant in Venice, CA, where he executed all kitchen operations and collaborated on the California cuisine menu. He was then recruited as Sous Chef of The Little Door, an upscale L.A. restaurant with French/Mediterranean cuisine. Samir showcased his superb cooking style with quality seasonal produce and premium ingredients. Soon after, Samir became Executive Chef at Rustic Canyon Wine Bar and Seasonal Kitchen in Santa Monica. The restaurant became shaped by his rich and unique monthly-changing menu. Samir’s creations have earned him reviews and praises in numerous publications, including a 2-star review from Irene S. Virbila of the Los Angeles Times.

Samir has always valued organic foods and Farmer’s Market ingredients. Over the past eight years, he has developed relationships with local farmers while shopping for his restaurant, and these relationships help him design the seasonal ingredient-driven menus which define the cuisine at The Cabbage Patch.
