Budget Rent A Car

Worst car-​rental experience (s) of my life. BOTH TIMES.
First time they didn’t have the car I reserved, were extremely rude about it, then said they could rent me another bigger car… and charged me MUCH more for it.
Second time I went back hopeful that was just a bad experience… nope! I walked in after having reserved and already paid online WEEKS in advance… I got there and they didn’t have the car, in fact they didn’t have ANY car available. Again they were super rude: they barely looked at me, didn’t say sorry, just said no we don’t have anything. What!!! I’ve actually never experienced anything like this with any other rental car before.

This was the worst place I’ve ever rented a car from.
I rented a car for 1 month. The day before I returned it
I made a new reservation for another car.
They promised a car would be reserved for 10:30 A.M.
When i arrived to return the car I had for 1 month and keep my reservation for the new rental, they said «We know you have a reservation, but we don’t have a car for you. You can just keep the car you already have».
I asked them to upgrade me to whatever car they did have. They said «It will cost you $ 150. More.
We called Enterprise car rental. They picked us up
They put us in the same car we tried to rent at Budget.
It was $ 200.00 less than Budget for a month.
We will never rent from Budget again. Having a reservation means nothing there, obviously they are all about the money and not customer satisfaction.

My experience at the drop off location in Beverly Hills was extremely unpleasant due to the Customer Service rep I had to deal with named Sheryl.
When I walked in, she looked at me then looked away and did not smile nor greet me, then once I got to her counter, she was very cold and unfriendly and she had a very mean look on her face, which was frankly quite scary. She had major attitude with me for absolutely no reason. I’m normally the queen of cheering rude people up and making them want to flip and be friendly but she seems to enjoy her unhappiness. Again, SHERYL ONLY.
Also, I took photos of how she was rudely texting on her cellphone while she was helping me along with the miserable mean look she had as well. While I was waiting in sitting area for my ride, an innocent customer called in and she was sooooo rude it bothered me and I had nothing to do with it. She kept saying rudely and repeatedly to the caller, «We don’t have any available vehicles so what do u need? It appeared as if the customer was asking questions that she felt were answered with «what do u need», so she decide to repeat it to the caller at least 4 TIMES!!! Absolutely unacceptable behavior for an employee who is representing the Budget brand. I’m not done.
Then, when I was at the counter again and she was on a call, she didn’t say she would be right with me or acknowledge I was ever there. She appeared to be on hold for a while so I asked if she could help me close out while she waited and she told me she was on the phone with the Hollywood location about my contract. Once the manager at the Hollywood location answered, the tone of her voice completely changed to the happy professional she should have been to Us customers and not just to the people she knows she has to be on point with because they pay her salary. That disappointed me even more because it’s showed me that she is perfectly capable of at least PRETENDING to be friendly and professional but she just CHOOSES not to unless she feels the wrong people could find out. I took the time to write this long message because I was utterly DISGUSTED at her nasty miserable attitude in which, had every other Budget representative that I dealt with not been the best ever, I would have never rented from budget again nor would I have referred anyone. And I proabably would have posted to social media and Unilocal to never come to this Beverly Hills Location.

Worst wait time. Always understaffed. You can expect one person working the counter regardless of how busy it is. With two or three customers in line, average wait time is 20 – 30 mins. Not to mention the cars are substandard. Smell bad, cheap, American cars under maintained. Terrible!!! Finally Patty is the worst customer service in the history of the service industry! Fire her!

Rented a car for a weekend trip.
We reserved online and I arrived at the location 45minutes early. However the car was ready already.
Naden helped us finishing up the paperwork and within 10 minutes we had the car.
The car was super clean, great service, no problems at all and a great price.

This place is one of the worst budgets I’ve ever seen, 2 people work in the whole facility, one for paper work and one for the cars, if you want to wait 2 hrs to get your car and another 2 hrs to return it, feel free to try them

Be careful with this office. Budget car rentals are individually owned and operated. This one is operated like a mom and pop shop.
The manager is extremely condescending and unprofessional
I had to pick family up from lax, when I got out of the car, the door closed with the keys in the ignition and the car still running.
The Beverly Hills office said they could not help me, they did not have a spare key or the code to get in their car. The lax Budget office did not even believe this statement, and they called Budget roadside assistance on my behalf.
When I went into the Beverly Hills office the next day (to add and additional driver) the lady at the counter said this should not have happened, and I should not be charged for the call out.
When I returned the car, the manager said it was not her problem, and if she is charged then she will inturn charge me
At time of renting, a) I did not know that I was renting from a mom and pop operation, masquerading as a national chain, and b) that it’s possible for a car to lock with the keys in the ignition. When surveying with my friends, this was a first for all of us.
Why did Budget at least not warn me ??
Of course I intend to dispute this with my credit card company

Adrian was amazing. Very professional and efficient. When we went to inspect the rental it was very dirty. He promptly took the car and washed it himself so I could make sure that I could see the condition of the car. He explained that this Budget location uses a special water filter that prevents water spots on the car. Who knew? Adrian did. Great experience. My new destination for car rentals thanks to Adrian. Hope you appreciate this employee

Friendly staff and excellent service when I picked up the car (and ended up with a free, unsolicited upgrade) and friendly staff and excellent service when I dropped off the car. When I went to return it, I was done and out the door in less than 3 minutes.
Probably one of the most professional car rental locations I’ve been to, and I’ve been to a lot.
Based on my experience, I’d have to conclude that the really bad reviews on here are likely from people who returned damaged cars and expected to not be held liable for them.
I’d absolutely rent from this location again.

WORST RENTAL CAR EXPERIENCE I’VE EVER HAD!!!
I will never go to the Budget rental car in Beverly Hills even though I live in Beverly Hills. I used Budget rental for the first time because I was offered a great savings with using a particular coupon. When I initially came to rent the car, I confirmed with the representative what the coupon offered, and I agreed to rent the car from them only because of the special deal that was offered. So I rented the car for a couple of weeks, because it was such a great deal. When I came to return the car, and again presented the coupon and reminded the manager of the agreement that her employee made. She (Tiffany) totally did not honor it. She was not only rude, and condescending, but had the nerve to say, after I ranted & raved about this «Bate & Switch» situation that was happening, she said «I’ll help you out, and give you $ 50 off of a rental, that ended up being $ 800 and something dollars, when It should have been $ 450, if they actually honored the coupon that there company was offering.
From $ 450 to $ 800 is a huge difference, and she’s giving $ 50 to off set the coupon. I was totally pissed!!! I have never felt so tricked and bamboozled when renting a car.
So I thought I would take the time to write this, so that no one else has to feel this way. Whenever, I’ve needed a rental car, I went to the Enterprise rental car in Beverly Hills. I only went to Budget because of this special deal that ended up being «too good to be true’. Save yourself the hassle and headache, and just go to Enterprise in Beverly Hills.

I had a very pleasant experience at this location. The girls at the counter were very professional, courteous, and helpful. Pick up and drop off was expedient, I was in and out in minimal time. One of the best rental car experiences I have had yet. I am looking forward to next time.

Personable, patient, and a extraordinary selection of cars from luxury (Mercedes (SL550) Prius, to practical Toyota. I was fortunate to be in the the middle of leases and ended up renting the car for over a month. Wendi Johnson and her team were flexible and accommodating. My experience continues over the years to be enjoyable and will continue to use them for business as well as pleasure. Customer service is rare and you can be sure Budget Rent A Car and Truck Rental will continue to rebuild the American Spirit in the 21^st Century with a nurturing fun experience, yes even when you rent a car.

I drove off the lot with our Budget truck and after about 10 blocks, I looked down and realized that the gas tank wasn’t full. It was halfway between full and the next notch down. So I called Budget immediately to tell them and a gentleman named Manny told me to take a picture of the gas gauge (which I did with a time stamp) and come back later.
I did exactly as I was told and even returned the truck with a full tank of gas, out of courtesy. The man who checked the returned vehicles in the parking lot came in and told Manny, in front of my husband and me, that yes, the gas tank wasn’t full when they gave me the truck.
When I asked about getting money back for the extra gas I put in, I was told there was nothing they could do. They refused to give me any sort of refund. Basically, Budget made me pay for somebody else’s gas after insinuating I would get some money back AND admitting they gave me a truck that didn’t have a full tank. It was a pretty dick move.

One of the best car rental experiences that I have had. and I rent car a lot. The staff went out of their way to accommodate me. They were very friendly and personable. Also the (mechanic/​cleaning) staff that takes car of the cars was also wonderful. An overall great experience.

Kim was great because she found me a truck, but overall unbelievably horrible. Its as if they were doing this for me for free. I reserved a truck then their inventory guys told me it was not available. They said they would get back to me shortly and never got back to me. I tried calling them and could not get through to any inventory manager let alone mine. I left a message and never got a reply. I was told a truck became available because of a cancellation, but that it had to be in by two the next day.
At the office Kim told me 1pm. I should have read the contract before signing, but it said 12pm. I got the truck back at 1pm and was charged for two days. I called CS and they called the franchise and they said it was supposed to be 2pm. They refunded me the daily rental rate, but not the ‘cost recovery fee’ of the ‘energy recovery fee’ because these were under taxes and could not be refunded. BS. Thieves. Cheapskates.

So far I’ve rented twice here. They’ve been really good. Maybe a little slow as in they take their time other than that they r OK. The reason why I give an extra star cos everytime I rent and I always get the cheapest economy car it has XM radio :-) and tho I rent economy they give me a decent compact or intermediate car :-)…so I hope I didn’t just jinx it hahha

I needed a car for a few days while my family member was in he hospital, and we had a lot of family members coming in and out of town. We decided to rent a car so there would be a extra one for everyone to use. Well we ended keeping the car for a extra week and a half nearly. The staff was not only understanding and helpful but the GM actually emailed me and called to check on our family member. I live 15 miles from this budget and there are plenty of other places to rent but after this I will be sure that not only my friends no about this place but so does everyone else. Oh ya, They came to my office to pick it up after it was all said and done and kept my rate the same! I know in todays world rates never stay the same let alone the service! This Budget Rent A Car is a bit out there for people not living in Beverly Hills. You don’t have easy freeway access, so you’re stuck on Wilshire for awhile (can be traffic-​y) until you get there.
The check out was easy and simple. I got a 4Runner and I guess they don’t check the maintenance on the car or what not but the maintenance light was on the whole 1.5 weeks that I had the car.
On the way back, you typically have someone check off your car to make sure it’s okay. I had to go inside the rental place and find the person to do the check off. This could be irritating for someone who needs to leave soon.
Other than that… they have nice cars like porsches, mercedes, range rover and even the mini coopers! =)

This is not your average car/​truck rental spot. There are no Chevy Impalas, Ford Focus or cheap ass rental cars.
There are no day laborers standing on the sidewalk waiting for you to pick up your moving truck on the weekend.
This is where you go to pick up a S550 or Gallardo to play baller for a day or weekend. Or get a really good truck for moving, which why I was there.
I found a 20% off coupon code online (yes! I love coupons) and got a better deal than those junkers at U-​Haul.
They charge $ 10 a day to park your car if you need to drop it while you’re using your rental, but as Jessica at the front desk pointed out, there’s street parking a plenty on the weekend just watch the signs.
The staff was professional and very unlike the crazies you get working the U-​Haul counter. I guess dealing with high end clients makes them happier folks cause they probably get tipped.
