After our prior garbage company decided to fold, all of their clients us included were transferred to Artie Snyder. (As a note to anyone reading this review that is not a Bethlehem, PA resident: In our crazy town the city still does not coordinate trash pick up via one provider. Every resident must pick a company from a list of around nineteen or so and all of their prices and days of the week for pickup are different based on what they want to do or what you potentially can negotiate with them.) I was very leery of this move because our prior company more then once did not pick up on the day they said they would and calling them was oh, so nice because they never answered their phone and more often then not never returned any calls. The upside was that they were cheap and they took a lot more than they were supposed to take for the price I was paying them. (Second note to out of town readers: The price you pay only entitles you to a certain number of can(s) per week and anything else past that is extra. Also if you attempt to put anything out extra like say an old sofa or if you are doing a bunch of home repair and you have four garbage cans full instead of two you will be billed extra as much as double the regular rate or if you’re lucky you might be able to «negotiate a price» with the guys who pick up.) But to my surprise Artie Snyder has actually been a big improvement. They pick up on the day they are supposed to pick up and they do it normally around the same time and by-in-large the guys on the truck are very friendly. The one quirk with them is that when you send a check in for payment they usually sit on it and don’t cash it for close to a month but aside of that, they’re great and as long as the city doesn’t impose a single hauler system we’ll likely be with Artie.
