The Bethesda Academy of Performing Arts

Our elementary school took 104 children to see the play“Cinderella Remix”. We study fairy tales and this was a new version of Cinderella. The story was about a young girl who wanted to be a D.J. The hip hop community frowns upon girl’s becoming D.J.‘s. This play included an evil stepmother and her spoiled son. Poor Cinderella was held hostage in their basement. She sneaks out and D. J’s for Prince. It included music, humor, and lots of hip hop dancing. The kids loved it. The performance lasts a little over an hour. It was a wonderful introduction for children to see live theater. The theatre was in stellar condition and is designed so all of the children could see. I would recommend it to parents who want to introduce their children to live theater. It is centrally located in Bethesda and the ticket price won’t break your piggy bank. Of course, as with most fairy tales it ends happily.
