History

Established in 1991.

Dr. Weitz has been in practice for over thirty years. He has been involved in alternative health care for most of that time. He brings this interest to treating the vision problems of his patients. In the past few years recent research has shown that we can slow the progression of nearsightedness by up to 65% in children by using a technique called orthokeratology which also temporarily reverses nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism and presbyopia (the need for reading glasses in adults). So we can eliminate the need to wear glasses or contacts during the day. All one does is wear retainer lenses to bed and remove them upon waking.

Dr. Weitz has been affiliated with For Eyes Optical Co. as an independent optometrist. This gives his patients the opportunity to save on contacts and glasses while receiving the best in eye care. He has the latest technology including a scanning laser ophthalmoscope which in many cases makes dilation of the eyes not necessary.

Dr. Weitz has been doing yoga and meditation for over thirty years. He loves biking, table tennis and being around the water having grown up in Florida. He is married to Deb who previously owned First Class, Inc., Washington, D.C.‘s premier life long learning center. Although he is not as well versed as Deb, he also knows a little bit about everything.

Dr. Weitz loves to travel and has been to many exotic places. His meditation has taken him to India twice. Among other destinations he has been to Tahiti, the Greek Islands, Turkey, Israel, Greece. His most recent trip abroad was to see his niece get married in Scotland.
