Brit-​Am Soccer Academy is Montgomery County, Maryland and Washington D.C.‘s premier provider of professional youth soccer coaching services. We are the leading kids provider of Soccer Summer Camps in Montgomery County, MD as well as Soccer Mini Tots and Tiny Tots Classes. Our programs also include Residential Camps, High School Prep Camps, Team Training, and Individual Training. Our staff of former professional and collegiate soccer players are all fully licensed and are well respected within the soccer community. We coach children ages 2 – 18 in Soccer Tots Classes, MSI Classic League, WAGS, NSCL and adults in premier leagues. Founded in 1999 by former English Professional Player Steve Knapman, Brit-​Am Soccer Academy has grown to a coaching staff of over 20 dedicated and enthusiastic coaches. History

Established in 2000.

Brit-​Am Soccer Academy was founded in 2000 by Steve Knapman. Originally created to provide summer camps, Brit-​Am Soccer now has over 20 staff members providing year round coaching services for children age 2 — 18, all over Montgomery County and Washington DC.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Steve has been coaching in the Maryland, D.C. and Virginia area for fifteen years. Recently Steve was named as the new Head Coach for the Maryland ODP project 100 + Boys U12 age level.

Steve holds an English Football Association Prelimanary Certificate and USSF A License.

Steve’s professional playing career began in England at 16 with Oldham Athletic where he got to play against the likes of David Beckham, Paul Scholes and Gary Neville. He also had short spells at Wigan Athletic and Blackpool before moving to Hong Kong where he played in their professional first division. Here in the United States, Steve was a member of the professional Maryland Mania team in 1999 and also played for a short time with the Richmond Kickers and Boston Bulldogs.
