We had a lovely experience today. The staff was flexible when we were running late for our appointment. We called to inform them, naturally. The technitian was delicate, attentive, and friendly. We will definitely make this spa a regular part of our summer Mani-Pedi routine.

Terrible! My friend and I went yesterday for a manicure. They pursuaded us to purchase a $ 20 gel manicure, and I should have known the poor service I would receive after hearing their price. The staff was all over the place. They couldn’t find the color I wanted, which they advertised, and they couldn’t find extension cords for their nail dryers. Our manicurist told us that she was sorry that she was doing a poor job, but she was wearing the wrong glasses and couldn’t see. They still took our money while admitting they did a terrible job. I got a groupon for a Brazilian wax and ever since then I have been coming here. The staff is nice and especially Mary. She makes one feel comfortable. She is quick with it so you don’t feel much pain and she is thorough. I highly recommended her.

I went to get a Brazilian and although the lady was very nice I will not go back. The bed I laid on was held up with novels, she didn’t leave me anything to cover up with like a towel or blanket and I’m just now getting home to realize my VAGHASWAXALLOVERIT. –_– Never had an experience like this where I had to go wash wax off or that my butt cheeks were waxed together. I’m not 100% smooth either. VEET would have done me just fine.

I’m only giving one star simply because they didn’t show up at the appointment time. Waste of time, no service provided. Unprofessional.

DONOTCOMETOTHISSALON!!! UNLESSYOUDONTWANTTOWALKOUTWITHSKINCHUNKSMISSING. I had a groupon for this salon and wanted to use it 2 weeks before my wedding for a mani-pedi. The gel manicure was sub-par and there were fruit flies flying around in the UV lamp. The pedicure was awful and painful. Why? Let me explain that my feet are in fairly good condition, no calluses or flaking skin. However, when I wasn’t paying attention, the technician broke out the cheese grater tool and all it took was 1 swipe of it on my achilles heel(which isn’t even the bottom of my foot). She shaved off a deep chunk of my skin and it immediately started bleeding into the foot bath. She then tried to stick my foot back into the bath to hide it, but I was already bleeding profusely from the cut and refused to let her. I then had to ask for neosporin because she was not administering any first aid. After 10 minutes, she brought it and attempted to touch the tip of it to my actual bleeding heel. After I got up and they drained the bath, they put the next guest into the same bath without cleaning or sterilizing it from my bleeding cut. Meanwhile, the manager, who had witnessed this all, looked away when she caught me trying to get her attention. She attempted to charge me full price and denied that the event actually occurred. She had the audacity to tell me «It’s not that bad», «Just don’t wear your shoes»(To walk to my car!!!) and«If you get an infection just bring us the doctors bills». I argued with her that I was not paying for this pedicure. Finally she obliged begrudgingly and asked me «Please do not come back to this salon». Trust me, I wasn’t planning on it. Update from the wedding: I could barely wear my new shoes for the wedding because my heel was still so tender and slowly healing from the mutilation at A&E spa Hope this review helps you stay away from this place :-)

I went there on my last trip to Bethesda. All I wanted was a simple pedicure and somehow it ended up costing me 100 dollars and k walked out with a not so great pedi and a horrible gel nail manicure. The woman how did my nails was nice enough but she kept insisting that I tip her in cash because the owner always too her tips!?? Huh? And there was another lady there with her helping to put on the pressure. Needless to say. I won’t go back.

Terrible customer service, unprofessional service I’v been here few months ago for a gel manicure which I bought from groupon. I was amused by the owner attitude and manner with customers! I thought, well maybe she is having a busy rough day! I was not that much satisfied with the manicure either. But I don’t know somehow I ended up buying a gift certificate for my next visit!!! stupid idea! I was back there for a pedicure last week and I truly had one of the worst services I’ve ever received. I had a rough month and I went for a pedi to treat myself and relax a little bit. But it was everything but a relaxing experience. From the minute I get there the lady was complaining about her staffs didn’t show up and she was running late and she kept making calls and cursing! I don’t want to go to details and make this review long but this attitude went on and on until the end. And the worst part was she left me on the chair without even telling me if I’m done or not and took the next customer to the back for her appointment. After 15 min waiting, when I asked the other lady who barely spoke english that when she was coming back and I had to leave, she said«oh I think you are done, you can go»!! I was really speechless and ready to explode but just walked out without saying anything. I think this review would do all!

I guess I should’ve looked at the reviews before I went here. The lady that did my nails was nice but the paint job was atrocious. The lady who did them knew they didn’t look good and said she would redo them but when I called she said I have to pay due to time and that it would only be a polish and not a manicure. Also the groupon is a scam, it’s only 20 bucks to get a gel manicure as a walk in. The sign is on the window near the nail station. I posted pics if that helps.

This was the worst manicure I have ever had. I got the groupon deal, but I will never go back, wasn’t even worth the $ 22 I spent on the groupon. She painted HALF of my nail and I had to keep asking her to put polish on the other half of my nail. She would slather the paint on my whole finger and would use alcohol to get the rest off my finger after every coat for gel(not really effective). She also had me sit under the UV lamp for almost 10 minutes while she was on her phone. Not clean either– dipped a dirty brush with a big clump of something on it into a bottle of alcohol to clean it. Then used the same alcohol on a paper towel to wipe down the tools and then put it in the sterile bag. SOGROSS.

The spa could not even get my friends and I into the door! My friends and I are all servers and in nursing school, we are pretty fond of hospitality. We called to make an appointment for three people for mani and pedis. An abrasive woman answered and told us that there weren’t any appointments available on wed. Thurs at 1pm was the only option. I asked her what are the other times and if 1pm is it, we will be late. She told me no other times, she was pretentious about how busy their spa was and she said if I was ten minutes late I would not get service and I cannot get anything done on thursday. Ma’m you need to realize that there are plenty of other salons and spas and I do not need to deal with your business. Good luck, the other Unilocal reviews seem to justify my experience as well.

I had quite an interesting experience here over the weekend. My friend had given me a Groupon for a mani/pedi as a Christmas gift. All she gave me was a print-out as proof of the Groupon. I was a little nervous before I called to make the appointment because of the horrid Unilocal reviews from other women trying to use Groupons. The person on the phone was a little abrasive-sounding, but didn’t ask for my Groupon info when I told her that I had a Groupon to use. I was able to schedule my appointment for a few days later. I was the only customer in the place(two people called to cancel while I was there) and there were three or four ladies who worked there. The owner was all over the place. She is very spunky and a bit over the top. She did berate me at the beginning because the paper that I handed her did not have a barcode, which meant that she had to call Groupon to verify that it was valid. She said that she was willing to do that«just this once» but yelled at me a bit to never do that again. Yikes. After that, she warmed up to me and even solicited my advice about finding a boyfriend on and proceeded to read me messages that men had sent her. It was quite amusing, albeit slightly unprofessional. The woman who did my nails was very sweet and gentle, but didn’t do too great of job with painting my nails. Two of my fingernails were not fully painted(she missed the side of one and the bottom of another) and all of my nails were streaky and could’ve used another coat. One of my toenails was smudged, despite me sitting there for nearly 20 minutes after my nails were painted. I think if you go here without using a Groupon or similar deal, this place would be okay. The entertainment factor alone is pretty much why I’m giving it two stars. The service and treatment I received at DX Organic in Bethesda was much better, so I’d go back there instead.

Update: Don’t buy this Groupon, it’s a sham. The owner will book you two months out because you are a groupon customer. She is very rude and has shown, at least to me, that she has no intention of providing a service.

Although the service wasn’t bad, I bought a Groupon and did not get the service that the groupon was for. I do find that many of these places don’t treat people with groupons very well, this place was no different. I am going to complain to Groupon.

This place has horrible customer service! I purchased a groupon to go here and get a shellac manicure. I called ahead and made an appointment and the nice receptionist asked if I wanted a pedicure as well. I said sure, showed up five min early for my appointment and Julie was there. She told me she’s not allowed to do my nails because she doesn’t see my name in her appointment book. She also proceeded to complain about her manager and how horrible her job was and she wants to quit. She complained the whole time, then I sat there for another 30 minutes while she took a customer ahead of me. Finally I asked if I should keep waiting and he response was«I have no idea.» After wasting about an hour just sitting there I finally left and am pretty bummed I spent money on a groupon I can never use.

Horrible service and the way she did my nails was completely embarressing that a nail salon charges money for this. When I called to have her touch them up because of the botched job, she couldn’t fit me in even for 10 minutes before I needed them(1 day later).

HORRIBLE! I will NEVER go back here again. The manager was so rude and disrespectful. She gave me a hard time because I didn’t make an appointment, however she took my phone and marked my groupon as redeemed before I could leave. The lady that did my nails was very sweet and quite, but the manager kept talking down to her, she would say things like«OMG what’s your problem» or ‘Don’t talk to me”. After I was told that they were booked and that they were doing me a favor by taking me and not turning me away, they kept taking walk-in’s! My manicure was nothing more than cutting, filing, and painting my nails. My nails look mediocre at best, and there is polish caked under my nails. The lady that did my nails made it a point to tell me that because I used a groupon, she’s not making any money from my visit, that’s just bad etiquette!

A W F U L… I absolutely do not recommend this spa. I went in to use a groupon, which on the phone they told me would be no problem, however when I got there they began to make a fuss. Some lady STORMED into the nail room, seemingly angry that she just had to scan my groupon. Then she proceeded to tell me the groupon had expired; it’s July 2014 right now, and the groupon clearly stated that it would not expire until September 2014. However, she still told me I was wrong(?) and that it was expired and no good. She then told me to leave, and stormed right back out of the room before I could even thank her for her gracious service. The entire encounter was hostile and rude, not at all what customer service should be.
