Tow Boat San Francisco Bay & Delta

These guys are very nice and excited to help even at all hours. They were very capable in their skills and quick to respond. And a good conversation on that way back to the slip! What else can I say?

My daughter and I cruised the bay all day Saturday in a 17′ Whaler and dummy me, I didn’t pay attention to the gas situation. Ran out in the middle of the bay near Alcatraz. Scared to death. Crabber towed me to the fuel dock at City Yachts, but the motor wouldn’t start after filling up. Capt Phil was awesome. Got us hooked up and towed across the bay to Sausalito in no time. Very friendly, professional, and kind (he didn’t make fun of my stupidity). If you’re boating the bay, have their phone number close in case of trouble. You can count on him.

On June 15^th, 2015 our boat’s engine heated up triggering alarms. we were stuck in the shipping lane in the middle of San Pablo bay. This was an unexpected occurrence since our boat is routinely maintained. The communication and professionalism was over the top. We requested a tow to coyote point marina. I can’t say enough about our experience. Don’t hesitate to get this insurance if you are a boat owner.

We have been Vessel Assist/​Boat US members ever since we got our sailboat, about 6 years ago. Yesterday on SF Bay was the first time we had to use the towing service and we were sure glad we’ve kept our membership current.
While out sailing yesterday, our boat lost engine power — with the very light winds, it was sketchy getting into Emeryville Harbor and then into our slip under sail. After a very friendly and courteous conversation with the dispatch person, Phil came buzzing up in his very cool towing /​rescue boat and within minutes, we were hitched up to his boat, towed to our slip and tied up to our dock. He was super efficient, very courteous and professional. We will always keep our Vessel Assist membership paid up!

I am a licensed Master (100 ton — with a towing endorsement), so imagine my joy when I had to call. .. for a tow. (The auto-​pilot fritzed out, rudders jammed hard over, could not use my engines to overcompensate.) Phil had me, and my 50 foot power boat, in my slip in an hour and a half. The picture of him towing way over there on the left, with my boat wanting to go way over there to the right, was priceless. (But I don’t share it with many…)

I have been a member for two years, and it’s really a no brainer. Anyone who has a boat on the bay should buy a membership. It’s like AAA. You hope you never have to use it, but when the time comes it will save you from some major hassles and expensive bills. It’s money well spent!
Phil and his crew are professional and very skilled at what they do. This is the only company qualified to be doing this sort of work on the bay. And that new boat looks like a pretty sweet ride!

Phil to the rescue! Our Duck Tour boat had lost engine power, so we called for help. Phil was there in no time and had such a professional, positive, funny and happy attitude that the slight scare for some passengers was turned into an adventure story to tell friends and family. YOU ARE THE MAN PHIL!

I have been BoatUS /​Vessel Assist towing member since 2004. Yesterday I tested the BoatUS Android app on my smartphone by pressing the «Call for a tow» button. I explained to the nice lady Pam that answered at the BoatUS dispatch center I was testing the app. She asked for my name, said I had a Homemade 16′ boat, checked my member number, checked my latitude and longitude that my smartphone’s GPS and the app transmitted to her via my AT&T carrier and it was spot on with my Garmin GPS. As a retired Fortune 50 IT Manager I give the app and the ²⁴⁄₇ BoatUS dispatch center 5 stars. I also have the BoatUS sticker on my helm with the 800# and hail «Vessel Assist» on VHF 16 in case one of my guests is calling because I need help. I am very happy with BoatUS insurance it is important to have fuel spill liability. I have BoatUS vinyl graphics for the CF#, names and Labrador outlines.

Professional crew and equipment. This is the only consistent 24 towing service on the Bay and Delta waters.
