If you want a good burger and you are in the Bessemer/McCalla area, do yourself a favor and go to J and J. Because I generally don’t like cheeseburgers, I get the hamburger. The food is terrific, and because it is a grocery store with places to eat(I always choose a seat at the counter), you always get local color from people watching. Nice people, good food.

What a great spot! Ordered the cheeseburger«all the way», it was delicious! The staff is super friendly and the service is fast even when thier busy. Even better the grill guy sings. :) Definitely be back!

Bacon Cheeseburger combo… Outstanding…people are super nice… and they know how to get the food over the counter… as they have plenty of experience with a busy, busy deli/restaurant. I will be back when I’m anywhere near there, and want a chesseburger.

The absolute best place to get a messy burger and fries around. There is a counter to eat at, but people do a lot of takeout(which is in a brown paper lunch sack). Located in an old brick gas station a bit out of the way, but worth the adventure to get there! They are consistently voted into the top 5 best burgers in Alabama and it’s for a reason!
