World’s Largest Laundromat

This place is huge! I love how clean and how 90% of the time there is no wait for driers or washers. Definitely a place to come do big loads of laundry. The only reason i gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the change machines and the costumer service. There is a girl that i went to about a machine not taking my money and she just rolled her eyes and said «they are all like that». Seemed as if she was bothered being at work. If i wasnt to come in contact with her this place would of had 5 stars for sure. Talk to your employees employer, costumers should not be treated with an attitude, it will make some not want to come back.

PROS:
— This place is huge and immaculately clean. I don’t think there has ever been a time that I’ve been here when it has not been actively being cleaned by staff.
— At Christmas they had brought in a Santa for the neighborhood families to enjoy, complete with pictures and small, fun gifts from the Laundromat for each kid. How cool is that?
— Free coffee and donuts. Word.
— Awesome bird enclosure that is kept as clean as a whistle and is really quite mesmerizing to watch while you’re waiting for your clothes to dry.
CONS:
— The Women’s restroom is a single stall. When there are dozens of families there doing laundry, this can become a bit of a problem, especially when you’re trying to avoid leaving your clothes.
— They are cash only for their laundry service, but I’ve had consistently bad luck with the cash machine they keep on site. This thing is infuriating! We’re talking 4, 5, 6 attempts before the machine registers that, yes, I do have money in my account and it can give it to me. ARG.
— Parking. Good luck.

Wrong place.

I happened upon this location on a fluke, and I’m glad I did. One reason this place works for me is because it’s 24 hours, and since lately my schedule has been that of a night crawler, it works for me. I’m usually in here super early in the morning and outside of a few scattering of people it’s virtually empty. I never have a hard time finding a washer or dryer here, and can get in and out fairly quickly. I did have an incident with a washer that was not dispensing water, and a worker was quick to come and rectify the situation. Other than that the staff is always smiling and friendly, plus quick to help out. Also in the morning they have coffee and donuts, and I saw a posting that shows that they have different events and themes on different days. I don’t know if it’s really the world’s largest but it definitely works for me. I will be back.

Way to crowded, way to expensive. Rather use my apartment laundry room but thought I’d give this a try. Lots of 3 – 5 dollar machines. For that price I can have it done for me. On a silly note, I bent down to put clothes in the wash and ripped my pants wide open.

I love the magnum 75 lb. washing machines. It’s only $ 6.75 to do a whole load and $ 0.25 for 8 minutes in the dryer. There is parking in the back which I like because 22^nd street tends to get very busy. Plenty of laundry carts, tables for folding laundry, and plenty of seating. Clean too. Definitely, the best laundry mat I’ve ever been to.

I just had to come back here and give a bit of a longer review as to why I love this place. Today I finished doing seven loads of laundry and it only took me two hours. Ahhh, so wonderful! I had no trouble finding maxi and triple load washers right next to each other so that I could wash my comforter in one, dog bed and blankets in another and all sorts of clothes in others. No problem finding open dryers too.
People are friendly and respectful, even when the place is slightly crowded. It’s loud because there’s quite a few TVs playing at all times, but it’s the kind of loud that still allows you to focus on studying a textbook if you need to. It’s a drone. They have free coffee all day, free donuts in the mornings and free pizza on a weekday night — Tuesday or Wednesday? I can’t remember which one.
I also really appreciate that they have a plethora of laundry carts that you can use for your laundry. I bring one out to my car to grab all my items… which is a friggin lifesaver when you have seven loads of laundry in your car. And it’s a quick place to get quarters if you need some. No crazy signs saying that the coin machines are only for customers. I come here for quarters all the time. Amazing.

I was worried to go at first since it’s large and I hate dealing with people. Now, I wouldn’t go anywhere else to do laundry. I like to go late at night so I won’t have deal with trying to get a: machine/​dryer/​table/​place to sit/​away from crowding (which this place is so big and has so much I don’t see how that can be much of a problem).
I like that they have: cameras, lighting in the back, clean areas, some friendly workers (that’s right, only some), few people at night.
Tips and advice?
–Don’t go on a Sunday unless you want to deal with the all-​day swarms of people that keep coming.
–Keep an eye on your machines! I repeat, keep an eye on your machines. I wish you could put temporary locks on these machines. I’ve had the privilege to donate my most favorite work pants to somebody in need (they stole them). It wasn’t the laundromat’s fault (people like to blame them for any bad thing that takes place around there).
–Please toss out your dryer sheets! They’re everywhere! It’s not that hard to toss them out people. I know the workers are constantly cleaning but people please don’t abuse… I’m serial.

Hey anytime you have to wash a large item that doesnt fit into your washer dryer you have to venture to a laundromat. And for me I require 2 things.
1) I must not feel like I will be stabbed in the brief amount of time I am at the establisment
2) They must have large enough washers and dryers to accomadate large comforters.
This place serves both of these needs and it does it in a clean, open, well-​lit environment with patrons that do NOT look like they are methheads ready to stick you for their next fix. So this place is a winner in my book!

TOp three reasons this place is awesome:
1. open 24hrs
2. very big with plenty of washers and dryers
3. very clean and organized
I love coming to this laundry place because it is super big and spacious and you don’t have to worry about running out of machines to do what you hate to do. all that dirty laundry.
I must be upfront and admit that I always go late at night (after 10pm usually) on weekends or Mondays. So my experience is from this time window.
All through the night I see staff all over constantly cleaning, sweeping, wiping down equipment and working. I like this because it keeps the place clean and tidy with so many people walking around dropping dryer sheets and socks all over the place.
Plenty of vending machines to find a snack while you wait for your undies to wash and dry.
Plenty of bathroom and parking also.
Parking is located on 22^nd street, around the corner on HIghland Avenue. However, it is a one way going South onto Cermak, so depending on where you’re coming from, you’ll have to drive up a block to get to the parking on that side of the street. There is also a parking lot out in the back.

This place is the greatest!!! My washer at home is being fixed, so I had to find somewhere to do my three large bags of laundry. I used Unilocal to help me find a laundromat that had some good reviews. So I decided to go to the «World’s Largest Laundromat.» This was my first time at a laundromat in a very long time, so I was a little unclear of the way things worked. The staff was excellent, they showed me where to go and even checked on me while I was there. The facility is very clean and there were not alot of people there (I went at about 10:00pm on a Tuesday). This place was so great that I might return even when my washer is fixed, I was finished washing in such a short amount of time.

Best laundromat ever. Huge, clean, nice. Automatic doors, vending machines, tons of seating. Free pizza Wednesday nights and free coffee & donuts most early mornings. The owners are super socially responsible and give back to the community. They have a reading program over the summer and raffle off bikes for prizes. They also hold immigration law sessions.

Best experience ever. I was there last night, Sunday evening. It was busy, but still so many machines free. The staff were fantastic, very helpful and polite. TV’s all over the place. Really nice. Never thought doing laundry could be so much fun. Highly recommended.

While I’m still a fan (see previous review), I just want to update that this place should be AVOIDED on Sunday evenings. I’m not sure if it was because of the last minute rush for the week ahead, but it was a mad house! Our fixed washer broke yet again, and we found ourselves in a virtual zoo on Sunday evening. Some strange lady was trying to steal people’s empty laundry carts and bull rush them to their staked out driers without even asking. I suspect she’s the one who walked off with my drier sheets. (Never had that happen before!)
In addition to the large crowd of people, there were also drier sheets and other types of trash everywhere. It was just too busy to expect the cleaning staff to keep up. An eyesore maybe, but the real *highlight* of that disaster was when I found someone’s panty liner stuck to the bottom of my shoe!
As disgusting and nerve-​wracking as it was, I’m still a fan of this place. I’ll just never go on a Sunday again! This was also the only time I’ve ever seen broken machines. Only 3 that I saw were out of order, but this place is so huge it didn’t really matter much. There was also a little issue of people leaving their clothing in the washers for longer than necessary. With it being so incredibly busy, it caused a bit of an inconvenience (and a wait for some people).

After reading some reviews from Unilocal,I was excited to come here. The reviews and their website advertised there were numerous machines and wifi available. Boy, I couldn’t wait to get all my laundry, 5 comforters washed, and get some homework done. To my horror, HALF the machines were broken and surprise surprise, we have to wait for working machines to open up! Not only would we have to wait, who says we’ll be able to wash all loads at once? The place is little cramped because they have benches between the machines. This laundromat is definitely big, but what does it matter if half the machines are not working and people are crowded around the ones that do work.
We ended up packing our things up, stuffed it back into the car and went down the street. What a total disappointment and waste of time.

I don’t necessarily know if this is as good as it gets, but I have a feeling that IT IS. In all honesty, this was my very first visit to a laundromat. I have been blessed with having my own washer/​dryer my whole life, well, except in college but even then, there were laundry facilities on the premises.
I only stopped by here because it on my way home from running another errand. I had my Saturday morning all planned out. I was a bit nervous about coming to the laundromat around 11am because i figured that it might be prime time to do laundry. I lucked out though cause there were plenty of machines, dryers, and sitting space.
There are so many different kinds of machines, I was really intimated at first. There are the small (I think 15 lbs) front loaders, normal top loaders (good for delicates cause you can set the spin speed to low), 25 lbs front loaders, and then there are also an aisle or two of the really big ones for comforters and things. I utilized the normal front loader which was $ 2.75 and the normal top loader which was $ 1.75. The front loaders don’t require as much detergent so be sure to read the instructions on the machine before putting in your detergent. My first load was still a bit soapy (I could see the soap residue on the glass during the spin cycle). The dryers are $ 0.25 for 10 minutes. Surprisingly, I only had to dry my clothes for about 30 minutes! I split three laundry loads into two dryers though so that probably helped. The dryers seemed really big to me. No complaints there!
There are plenty of change machines, an arcade, TVs, and some vending machines with snacks, soda, ice cream, and frozen foods… Donuts and coffee are served everyday, although by the time I got to the front, they had run out of donuts. Apparently they also have free pizza on Wednesday nights!
I had a really pleasant experience here so maybe I’ll come back if I have another reason to be in the area. It’s quite far from where I live but there were just so many pros: easy street parking (and it looks like there’s a lot in the back too), nice employees that are CONSTANTLY cleaning the place, non-​sketchy customers, plenty of carts, and most importantly — plenty of high quality machines. They don’t call it the World’s Largest Laundromat for nothing!

The only laundromat I’ve even been to where there is ALWAYS a washer available. The same can’t be said for dryers. I’ve only been on the weekends when it’s extra busy so maybe it’s a timing issue.
Free wifi, a bill changer (for when you only need $ 12 in quarters instead of $ 20, but you only have a 20 to change), and good people watching. A little pricier than other ‘mats I’ve been to, but it’s worth it for the seemingly endless washers and the free wifi. It’s not quite the Utopia other people describe here, but again I’m a weekend washing warrior and that is nobody’s idea of a good time.
A note about the wifi: it asks for a login. Just put in your email; I haven’t noticed any spam. They also don’t seem to verify your email so you could put in any old thing.
The washers in the back are usually less crowded but the area is more noisy, somehow. Go solve the mystery while your socks hula in the spin cycle.

Bright. Clean. Safe.
And anything that can make doing laundry fun is totally awesome in my book. They have an aviary! Seriously, there are a bunch of birds in there! TVs, food, games, spacious… etc
And because it is almost all solar powered (I heard even the water is heated using solar panels), you can help mother nature while you do your clothes (just don’t use too much detergent…)

Scrub, doubly, lovely, bubbly place to float into if you’re feeling weighed down by dirty laundry.
Warm, welcoming atmosphere despite being busy as an ugly Christmas sweater at all times of day & night. Seriously, given the volume of the place they should have valet parking because it can be hard to find a park even at 1 a.m.
Lots of TVs, a play area for little kids, a row of cafeteria-​style seats for meals and a rich variety of snacks in the vending machines.

It’s a solar-​powered laundry factory with flat screen TVs and ice cream!
Pretty much a laundry Disneyland! Take a date! Bring the kids! Watch a game! Totally, totally, totally worth driving for.
It’s the best laundromat I have ever been to and if it had booze, too, it would be the best I’ve ever heard of too! Wait. wait…No! It IS the best one I’ve ever heard of! Even without the booze!
First of all, this place is HUGE and clean and HUGE — it has multiple 75 pound washers. Appreciate that. There’s free coffee and donuts and free pizza on Wednesday nights. There is a large children’s area a little vending machine-​ish restaurant-​y area, with microwaves and an ice cream vending machine — with paletas in it even! There are TONS of flat screen TVs and the people who work there will let you turn it to whatever you wanna watch — they’ve got satellite! And, AND, they sell the full-​sized containers of laundry detergent. They don’t only have change machines, they have bill changers — like it will change your $ 20 for four $ 5 dollar bills, so you don’t have to get too much change.
And they have Pacman. And a bird cage — with real birds in it. And automatic front doors, like the kind at the grocery store. And. The. Nicest. Workers. Period.
Did I mention the free WiFi? And remember — it’s all solar powered. Oh. And it is open 24 hours a day.
Even if you have a working washer and dryer at home (ours, sigh, has been kind of a jerk to us for a while…), give it a rest and meet me down here sometime — there is no reason to go anywhere else for what used to be just a tedious chore. Now I’m gonna start looking for reasons to show up — What about those rugs? Is it time to do the drapes?
With the loss of the car spindle, this is the new jewel o Berwyn! Bring tourists!
