Hurray! Quality Asian food close to my new hometown of Oak Park. First time here over the weekend and we ordered: Udon lunch special, dim sum: BBQ pork buns, sticky rice, shrimp dumplings. We also ordered bbq beef(ok), salt and pepper squid(perfection), miso soup, ginger salad, salmon roe. It’s difficult to find an Asian place that can get Japanese/Chinese/Thai/Korean all in one place. Décor was nice and place was spotless. We went at lunchtime on Sunday so we had the place to ourselves. It is partnered with the next door restaurant J Wok. Don’t judge the location(strip mall). Service was attentive and friendly to our rowdy 5 year old. We will be back!

Meal in progress– so far so good. I’m 1 of 3 people here for lunch on a Monday. Waitress is pleasant enough. I got simple rolls that are fine– to be expected from strip mall sushi.

The food is decent and the menu is huge. That is somewhat positive but also works against them because it’s confusing to read a menu which rivals the Encyclopedia Britannica for sheer volume. Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Cantonese, Szechwan, it’s all here. If you like variety and want a cornucopia of choices this might be up your alley. Where this place goes off the rails is the terrible service. 45 minutes without a drink of water is flat unacceptable by modern restaurant service standards.

Love the food! Great service overall in my experience! Don’t leave without trying their smoothies! I had a mango smoothie and i loved it. Its no artificial mango flavor it’s natural mango and you can taste it!

The sushi is good, but the service is terrible! They take about 45min for your food to come out and all the waitresses are rude and annoying! I purchased a bottle of wine and they kept the bottle in a separate table and notice they used my bottle to serve another table. If that isn’t bad service idk what is!

We’re big fans. Everything is solid. Definitely recommend the Chinese, most consistent we’ve had around and very reasonable. The restaurant is very clean and updated.

Don’t order delivery. The order I received was not what I requested. I went back, certain they could fix the misunderstanding and the first thing they did was threaten to call the cops as soon as I pointed out the discrepancy. I’ve never been treated like a criminal simply for wanting a tempura shrimp roll as opposed to a California roll(something I’ve never in my life ordered because I despise the stringy crab imitation). So after they treated me like lying trash and explained I should have listened more carefully when he repeated the order back, after they repeatedly and rudely iterated how it was my fault, my error and my responsibility not to order sushi I don’t like, I kindly said, «You know what sir, just take it,» threw the uneaten and unwanted California rolls behind the counter and calmly exited. I probably overreacted at that point, but whatever. I’ll never step foot in that establishment again.

Updated review long time coming for this place. It’s been very impressive to watch the quality, service, and décor consistently improve at Sushi Junki. The menu prices now seem justified, and the food is very seldom disappointing. Most amazing has been the improvement in the quality of the sushi. It’s so good now, the prices seem more than fair. In fact, I feel like I’m getting a good value. My wife and I enjoyed a variety of maki rolls, well-prepared. The nigiri pieces were better than average, in terms of taste and appearance. The maguro we were served had some nice fatty marbling — more like a low-level toro than ordinary nigiri. The oyster shooters were carefully made, and unlike that of so many other places, didn’t taste gross. I’m surprised and amazed at the evolution of this Thai/Chinese takeout spinoff, and I would now consider this to be one of the best restaurants in Berwyn.

As soon as I saw the menu, my first words where«Are you serious?!!»…lol” The prices are ridiculous. The service is horrible, the waitress raised her voice at my 3 year old because she thought he was going to knock a glass of water down. That should of been my clue to get up and leave but I did not want to be rude. The quality and taste of the food, mediocre. I will definitely take the drive to the city for some good Sushi, and definitely for the value of my $$.

This place is perfect for the suburbs. Great prices, huge menu, nice atmosphere, great rolls. Me and my wife have been multiple times with no disappointment what so ever. Definitely worth the try.

Living in Berwyn has made it difficult to find gems that aren’t Mexican food. Don’t get me wrong… I absolutely love Mexican food but it gets boring quick! I stumbled across this place on Unilocal and decided to give it a shot. I was so hungry that day(it was almost 9pm when we arrived) I ordered the dragon roll and pad see ewe with chicken. The roll was delicious and the portion for the noodles was huge(I had leftovers that I thoroughly enjoyed the next day). The only weird thing was they included onions in the noodle which isn’t typical(at least I’ve never had them before and I always order Pad See Ewe as my first meal at a place that serves Thai. The service was ok. I don’t expect much when I go out to Asian restaurants and I’m not trying to offend anyone but that has been my experience. We walked in and the sushi chef was mean mugging us(so that wasn’t cool) but the server was nice and she gave us a calendar when we walked in.

It is hard to do everything perfect when you have Thai, Chinese, Korean and Japanese cuisines on your menu. Having said that, this was our first visit here with die-hard fans of this place. Perhaps my husband and I ordered the wrong thing, maybe not. The sweet and sour soup was very spicy and the pepper overpowered the flavor. My entrée came before I finished my soup when I specifically asked the server to bring it after I was done with the soup… entrée was lukewarm at best. I ordered the Triple Combination and it was more or less lots of bok choy and broccoli… not much meat. Tea is not brought unless asked… not sure if we were charged for it or not. Husband’s sweet and sour chicken had way too much breading and was basically inedible. Will return and order something different…

My new favorite(well, not exactly new) place for sushi. The bff introduced me to this place, and I try to order something new every week. The waitress is always super helpful and knows my taste by now. She is very attentive and is very quick to know when we need/would like something. Although I wish they had martinis, their strawberry milkshakes are pretty flipping awesome. Their sashimi, rolls, pad Thai, miso soup, and just about EVERYTHING id amazing. Just tell the waitress what you like and she will suggest something that will blow you away. Seriously. I hope to come here for lunch one of these days to try their specials. Pics to follow!

I always come here to have Sushi. The ambience is great and the sushi is excellent. My only con would be how unfriendly and unwelcoming the staff is at Sushi Junki. It is almost like the staff doesn’t like their jobs. The staff is friendly amongst conversing with each other and never with the patrons. However, Chris(waiter) is friendly, comedic and welcoming. I would give Sushi Junki 5 stars but attitude is everything with me. The staff needs to smile more, I think the place would be packed.

I enjoyed having lunch at this place. The food was good and with good variety of Asian cuisine choices. Waitress was appropriately attentive and not over bearing at all. A minor little thing that I didn’t like was the unisex washroom. Other than that, it’s a cool and delicious place for sushi, Thai, and Chinese food.

This was a HUGE surprise find in good olé Berwyn, IL! My coworkers and I are always trying to find something different than the usual fare(Mexican) in the area and this was a nice surprise. Someone at work discovered this place and it’s in this crappy little strip mall. We have passed it a million times and never took notice. However, the inside is really, really pretty –like a fancy Chicago restaurant! They have Thai as well as Japanese food. I ordered a maki special and it was very fresh, very tasty. Others in my party ordered various specials on the lunch menu –some maki /some Thai and everyone liked their choices. Score 1 for the Cicero crew… we found another winner!

My boyfriend and I recently enjoyed a Saturday lunch at Sushi Junki. The interior is a lot nicer than expected, very neat and clean with simple décor. We shared a spicy tuna roll, rainbow roll, you maki roll, and I believe the futago roll. My only complaint worth mentioning was with the futago roll, which was a little overwhelmed by too much sauce. Otherwise the fish was fresh and fairly generous and everything tasty. The prices are not cheap but comparable to a sushi lunch in the city; our bill with tax + tip was ~$ 55. I can’t speak to the other food items– the menu seemed to include a broad range of different Asian cuisines(Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Korean) which always makes me a bit wary. However, I would not mind returning for the sushi!
