Joining his father in the family business Jack is proud to be a part of a long tradition; the family opened the shops back in 1988 and have only improved the quality and scope of their services ever since. Bob and the guys at C & J are what you want your local mechanic to be: friendly, professional, honest, thorough, and fairly priced. Every time I’ve called or stopped in, they greet me by name (and I can tell you it’s not because I am a frequent customer — they do this for everyone). The work is quality and the prices are equal to (or better than) the dealers I have used. Whenever there’s an issue, they are quick to make it right. Their busy parking lot definitely indicates their reputation. The location is within walking distance to the train, so it is easy to drop off for the day and pick up in the evening.
While I no longer commute by train (thereby making it harder to schedule a day to leave the car), I am on my third vehicle being serviced there.

I went to C&J initially to have my tires changed and to avoid dealerships’ high prices. Now I go for all my mechanical needs. They are very knowledgeable, professional, helpful and… very pleasant to deal with. I always wait for shorter procedures and see their interractions with other customers… they all seem to be long term customers. Every procedure is discussed and the best mechanical/financial decision recommended. They are deffinetely the car mechanic you can love!

On the recommendation of a friend, I purchased new tires for my car from C & J last year. Their price was completely fair, all the charges were explained up front and they were courteous and professional.
Last night the dashboard «check tire pressure» warning light came on. So I phoned C & J early this morning and spoke with Bob; «It’s probably just because we had a cold snap and the tires are a bit low, but why don’t you bring it over and we’ll check just to be sure.» Well Bob’s instinct was right, and topping off the tires with air cleared the warning light. But I really appreciate them taking on a little extra work to make sure there wasn’t a problem with my car. I wish I got this level of service from every business.

Bob, Jack, and the whole crew at C and J are extremely professional, courteous, and friendly. Skepticism and mechanics go hand in hand, but I trust these guys totally. Having a mechanic you can trust is so important and C and J is reasonably priced and fair. I work on the Main Line and I can tell you that this shop’s reputation speaks for itself. I have been going since 2001 and they have never «steered» me wrong! Give them a try next time you need simple or complex maintenance– you will not be sorry.

We have lived in the Berwyn area for nearly 2 decades, the first few years without any dependable auto service. After getting a recommendation from a neighbor I dropped off one of our cars for repair and was very impressed with their knowledge, service, and honest advise. Over the past decade or more, we have been taking our new, 2^nd hand, and «beaters» to Bob and Jack and they have been able to find ways (cost effective ways) to keep them running. For 6 years we were able to go without car payments due to their ability to keep our cars running. We currently are up to almost 270,000 miles on one of the cars they have kept going, including their installation of a slightly used engine in this 98 Honda Civic. I think more than anything, this is a group of mechanics that know their customers, help them make smart and cost effective decisions, and go the extra mile to make sure the job is done right.
