4frnt4 architecture is a full service architecture and interior design firm. We work closely with our clientele to provide creative and innovative solutions to fulfill their specific goals. The firm was founded on the principle of developing high performance solutions to a wide variety of building types. Using this approach produces a more efficient building which relies less on external energy resources, saves money, and contributes to an overall healthier environment.

We are continually improving our methods through research and practice in order to advance the conventional idea and practice of building. While founding principles may not be realized in all our projects, they contribute to a thoroughly conceived solution in all of our work. Meet the Business Owner

Greg G.

Business Owner

Greg Gouwens founded 4frnt4 with the desire to fulfill his passion for creating self-​sustaining architecture. Structures which are high performing living systems that minimize dependence on the life support of the city grid and incur minimal impact on the environment.

With 18 years in the architectural field, Greg brings extensive experience to the firm. His background in corporate, commercial, residential and heath care provides a broad palette of design and construction options to our clientele.

In 1994, Greg earned his BArch from the University of Illinois at Chicago. While attending UIC he participated in over-​seas studies at the Ecole d’Architecture in Versailles, France. His accreditation’s include licensure in the state of Illinois and U.S. Green Building Counsel, LEED AP.

In his spare time Greg is an avid motorcyclist, enjoys exploring the great outdoors with his beautiful and understanding wife and is involved in the Berwyn neighborhood watch program.
