Jack Sauter’S Tire Factory

I have been going to Jack Sauter’s Tire Factory for 20 years.
because I have so much confidence with their workmanship and most important their honesty. I do not take my cars to the dealership for serviving or repairs because the costs at Jack Sauters are more reasonable and the workmanship is better. Jack works in the shop himself and always explains what work needs to be done or in many cases what does not need to be done. In this day and age it is so nice to have a business that you can have so much trust in.

Took our BMW in for a new battery before a long trip last summer, asked to also have tires looked at. Picked up the car the battery had been replaced they said the tires were fine and they checked the pressure in all of them. Took the car home decided to double check the tire pressure before leaving three out of four were over 5 pounds off each.
Went back recently with my Mercedes which had an oil leak. Was told two expansion plugs were bad would be $ 1200 to repair and would take several hours. I called another shop I used before, I told them the problem that had been diagnosed they said that they would do it for $ 280. I then went on the internet looked up the problem bougt the parts from Mercedes myself for $ 21 and fixed the leak in 10 minutes.

Well, yes another review on this place. So, belts I had replaced 10,000 miles ago split (cheap belt) and I called to let them know. In addition to the belt being «cheap» it was not the right size. As I’m at my new mechanic, they advised me that the belt was the wrong size. A few mm off, which could be an easy mistake for a mechanic shop that does not specialize in European cars (I have found an awesome mechanic in the desert which I have provided a review for). Once I called the shop, they gave me a dozen excuses and told me the belt could not have been the wrong size and basically my new mechanic was trying to «scheme» me into replacing the belt, which is not the case given the belt was obviously split in half and about to snap. How awesome would that be driving around town! They did agree to «make it right» if I wanted to bring it in, but how many more «wrongs» do I want? I’d rather eat the cost and get it done right for peace of mind and my overall safety. On a side note, my mom went in for an oil change and they said she needed to replace her battery which was not the case when she took it to the dealer. Word of advice, spare yourself the trouble of this place having to «make it right» after something goes wrong and just find a mechanic to «get it right» the first time.

Perhaps the counterperson was having a bad day… but treating people like dirt is not the way to do business nor get me to come back for anything, let alone tires, oil changes or even directions.
This location is listed as one of the recycling centers for used motor oil. I called a few weeks ago to ensure that I could bring by what I had. The gentleman on the phone was very nice and said to bring whatever you have, no problem.
When I got there this morning, the counterperson immediately said «No we do not do that here.» I reminded him that they were listed on the website (
) for collection and he said «let me go check.» I also let rude one know that I was looking for tires as well…
When the rude one came back, he wanted to know how much I had to recycle and I told him there were a few quart containers and one that I had bought.
He started getting verbally offensive in tone and manner and I said that it didn’t really matter, either you recycle or you don’t. I reminded him that I am also shopping for tires and would not do business at this location with his behavior.
He continued with his nasty tirade and I went outside to get the oil. The rude one nastily shouted out that he will only take 5 quarts. I told him to forget it, I would bring it to I10 or another location.
Rude one: Do that. Well that ends that.
I reminded him that my experience would be on Unilocal!and Google.

I have placed complaints with the California agency that handles recycled oil and to their corporate office and Goodyear since they are sporting their corporate logo.

Great customer service. Gave the car a real going over. Will be bringing my car back every time from now on.

Have been bringing my older Lexus here for several years. Good customer service, service appointments available, nice location near Carl’s and Subway if you have to wait a while!
They seem extremely competent at finding things I need… and replacing. For example I never had anyone tell me to change my cabin filter. They also fixed a stuck driver’s seat and I recently had them do a transmission service. I had a small clunk in the transmission shifting from 1^st to 2^nd when it was cold. What ever they did it is now fixed. Nice reliable place to bring cars.
PS When it comes to any major repairs always get a lot of quotes!

Went here to get a simple tire patch because I ran out of my own and I needed it quickly. They were very friendly and courteous and got me in and out in 35 minutes for $ 20 bucks. The standard upsell was there with my rear tires, all priced out and everything (which was actually on the more expensive side) but I don’t blame them because they are pretty much bald. Overall a good experience and I appreciated the professionalism.
