Vva Pick Up Service

So far my experience with having my donations picked up has been more trouble than I anticipated. The driver has been here twice and hasn’t been able to find the correct building entrance or buzz the super until he gets a response. And the woman who answers the phone is kind of difficult to communicate with.
I’ve rescheduled a third pick-​up, which means I have to drag everything out again. If they can’t get it right this time, I’m calling another organization — what a hassle this has become!

I was doing some intense spring cleaning, and accumulated quite a pile of gently used clothing & shoes, kitchen/​household items, and other assorted things. When I looked online for the nearest donation center, I saw a link for «Pickup Please» — where I could fill out a very brief form online, and Vietnam Veterans of America would come by and pick up everything at my house within a few days. I scheduled the pickup, and got a helpful confirmation email. On the day of the pickup, the driver was prompt, friendly, and took everything I had set aside — I didn’t even have to be home (but I was, so I can confirm the prompt/​friendliness.) The driver left me with the tax forms I need to claim deductions next year, and a few bags, in case I am feeling generous and want to keep donating things in the near future.
For me, the worst part of giving things away, is actually lugging them to a donation center, and VVA eliminated that part for me! The driver said they are out of NJ, but they pick up all over the area, so West Chester PA was no problem. Thank you VVA!
