Veganville

At my friend’s vegan Thanksgiving last year, she ordered Veganville whoopee pies for the group. They were a delicious treat! Individually wrapped, ordered, and delivered off of an Etsy shop in Berkeley. I would love to try out more from this baker.

Veganville is super delicious! Gigi is a superb baker. I have been a vegan for almost a year now and I ordered my first vegan birthday cake! Gigi was open to my special request of turning her wonderful fudgy wudgy, chocolate, cupcakes into a full cake. She added chopped almonds, raspberry purée, and a smooth fudge icing, topped with fresh raspberries. Yuuuuummmmy! Gigi is enthusiastic, great to work with, and delivers directly to your door. If you are a vegan, chocolate lover… spoil yourself with one of her many sweet delights. They will totally brighten your day! Thank you Gigi! :)

Veganville exceeded my expectations and I can’t recommend them highly enough! I wanted to find someone who could make cupcakes in the style of The Walking Dead for my brother’s birthday– we are all fans! I called many places and most were only going to do a little logo topper on the cupcake. Then I remembered Veganville! I reached out and Gigi was super responsive and totally up for making the most gruesome looking walking dead cupcakes possible! They were amazing! She created 3 boxes that were all uniquely horrific! Cupcakes on top of an edible graveyard and then sterilized toys that had been carefully doctored and amputated to really give the look of The Walking Dead and zombies! My brother was thrilled! (As was his daughter who is also a fan)! AND THEY WERE DELICIOUS!!! I will definitely go to Gigi again! Thank you for making it so special!

I am the exact opposite of a vegan! I am a dedicated carnivore! I LOVE MEAT!!! I figure that if G*d didn’t want us to eat animals, she would not have made them out of meat! And I like meat related products such as cream, butter, eggs, honey, etc! Mmmmm, yummy! I tend to avoid anything «vegan» because in my experience most vegan food seems to be… well…lacking that certain je nes a qua! And then I ate a Veganville cupcake and my life took on new meaning! So moist! So tasty! Sooo YUMMY!!! I thought, this can’t possibly be vegan, can it? Since that day I have enjoyed many of the treats that Gigi makes… so much so that when it came time to choose a cake for my birthday, I chose a Veganville carrot cake and it was the best carrot cake I have ever eaten! Be still my heart!

Just took a Cooking with Tofu class from Gigi and it was fun and delicious! I’m not a vegan or a vegetarian but I loved the wonderful food. Gigi is the consummate hostess and entertainer, and kept us laughing the whole time. We made (and ate) 3 dishes, plus she made us one of her great vegan desserts, and had leftovers to bring home. What a great evening!

I am not a vegan. I have no plans or interest in becoming one. So why do I make the trek to Veganville? (Actually, that’s a figure of speech, Veganville makes the trek to me.)
Cause Vegan, schmegan, I want food that is healthy, convenient and… addictively mood-​enhancing. Only partly kidding. Her chocolate products, such as the triple chocolate cake (aka ‘Sam Sam’), chocolate mousse and super rich brownies are the best I’ve ever had. Turn a doldrum day downright cheery. Her savories are made with high quality, fresh, seasonal (where applicable) ingredients. Her packaging is adorable and classy. Plus, GiGi is super fun to do business with. And she doesn’t heap on that exclusive-​club vegan superiority attitude you can find in that neck o’ the woods.

Simply the best baked goods EVER! By best I mean you take that first bite, you go into that eyes closed swoon, and the sounds from that deep primal space escape your lips, «Ooooh my god, this is sooo goooood; it’s the best ever.»

I have had the most delicious cupcakes from Veganville that i have ever tasted. I have had them on 3 different occasions and they were consistantly good. The icing must have some kind of secret ingredient, it is so yummy… the service is fabulous, i highly recomend these goods.

As I write this I cannot choose my favorite Veganville offering, it’s really a time of day selection (muffins in morning, cookies in the evening, pumpkin bread ²⁴⁄₇). I took the Uncrummy Apple Crumb Cake Muffins to the office and they vanished in short order. Luckily they’re rather large so a few people were able to share. I never thought I would like mint and chocolate chip in the same cookie though Veganville made a believer out of me! Also, The packaging is also very clever and completes the excellent presentation!

OMG, I had no idea how rich and good a vegan chocolate loaf could taste. I ordered the Sam Sam’s Devil Pumpkin Chocolate Loaf for a party, and it was a huge hit. We had it with ice cream. It is also really good heated. Happily, it freezes very well. You couldn’t tell it was frozen after defrosting it. I’m not a vegan, but I’d get this chocolate loaf before any non-​vegan comparable one. Must be the devil in the pumpkin!

okay. so here’s the deal. At first I heard about vegan desserts and said, «Yuck!» — How can you have a decent dessert without butter and cream. Well Veganville does that and surpasses lots of dairy laden treats. If there was no mention of vegan, I wouldn’t really know the difference. The Sam Sam’s Devil Pumpkin Chocolate cake is sinfully good! The Jo-​Jo Ho-Ho’s are addictive. I’ve had lots of goodies shipped to friends out of the area — and they receive the treats fresh as can be. You can’t go wrong with ordering from these guys. But I warn you — Once you start tasting the goodies, the memory keeps bringing you back. I’m getting ready to order the latest — Java Jolt cupcakes. ummmm

I went to a friends 50^th birthday party and they had 50 Veganville cupcakes spelling out «50». Which I thought was rather clever, however it was soon unreadable because so many cupcakes were eaten. It was fun giving someone a cupcake and then telling them it was vegan! The most common 1^st response is Nah?, really? The chocolate cupcake with crystalized ginger on top is worth the calories. And I don’t say that about every cupcake. Oh, the Uncrummy Apple Crumb cake is excellent, and the names are hilarious, Martha’s in the Big House Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookies is my favorite.
