Only have been here once for take-out and the food is decent but a bit pricey. Had the green curry with chicken and mango sticky rice for dessert. Charging $ 2 extra for rice is ridiculous as many places include it with curry at least — I mean, you have to eat rice with curry! The curry was seasoned well but I wish it was a bit spicier. The chicken breast was of decent quality. The mango sticky rice was good but I think they should put a little less condense milk on the sticky rice since it was drenched. The mango was nice and ripe though! Will likely try another dish sometime…

Great service! The waitresses were polite and didn’t do anything out of the ordinary. FOODWASBOMB. Definitely coming back again for that pad see ew(sorry I may have butchered the name) Could be 5-stars if the food was able to come out faster but everything else was splendid.

My friend introduced me to Tuk Tuk Thai years ago and every other month I keep coming back. I haven’t roamed around Berkeley looking for other Thai places because TTT is an amazing place to dine in! Although, the lighting makes me feel dizzy and the ambience noise level is medium. I will keep coming back for the food! Papaya salad, Pad Thai, and Thai tea is great!

I eat here a lottttt… Usually for lunch. My husband always take the basil chicken extra spicy and me the green curry with added eggplants(which they charge extra for). We also love to coconut milk soup. The food is really good.4 stars is because few times they brought the food separately and I had to look at my husband when he ate. Also they brought the soup which is first course after the main course.

I decided to give this place a try since it was one of the few Thai places open past midnight and was quite disappointed. There are so many wonderful Thai restaurants, and this is not one of them. Their most popular dish fried chicken over fried rice was disappointing and flavorless. The fried rice was incredibly bland and essentially just rice, soy sauce, and onions thrown together. Most thai fried rices tend to have a sweetness that this one lacked. The chicken portions were also very small in comparison to the large serving of rice given. The Pad See Ew was also too oily and salty for my taste. The only thing this place has going for it is the late hours and the large dining area.

Great food and service. I had salmon and the California roll. Both were fresh and yummy.

Good food and great service. The pineapple fried rice with chicken and shrimp is REALLY good, but you only get 2 shrimps, so don’t get excited about the«shrimp and chicken»

I’ve been here on multiple occasions during late hours and ordered from them quite a few times. I like their pad thai — which is on the sweet side. Their pad kee mao is a hit or miss(sometimes it’s fantastic, but sometimes it’s really bland). I’m personally not a fan of their fried rice. One of my friends loves their papaya salad with shrimp. Delivery always arrives within 45 minutes, and in restaurant service is always friendly.

«We only have one delivery guy so deliveries are taking a little longer than planned.» It’s 9pm on a Tuesday and I’m still waiting for the food I ordered 2 hours ago. My recommendation, hire another delivery guy.

This place is open late, so great alternative to greasy diner food when leaving the bar. However, not my go-to spot for a nice Thai lunch or dinner, more so just late night when I’m starving and nothing is open. I generally get their Pad See Ew. Their tofu isn’t great, so I usually ask for extra veggies instead(as I don’t eat meat). The resturant is nicely laid out, and quirky with an actual tuk tuk in the dining room. The big windows are great for people watching.

Moo dang over rice(2⁄5) — it was pretty good at first, but the rice was drenched in the sauce, it was really hard to finish by the end because it was really salty. In addition, the meat was already seasoned with salt(the char-siu and chinese sausage), and also had extra black sauce on the side. The saltiness was overpowering and there wasn’t enough plain white rice without the sauce to balance out the salt. The thai iced tea($ 1 off if you check in on Unilocal!) was also really sweet, but can’t really complain. Overall, the food was way too salty/sweet today, hard to finish. Service was really friendly though. 5⁄5! My waitress attended to us quickly. They were always available when we needed them, it made the experience very pleasant. The restaurant was also pretty spacious.

Been here twice and the two experiences were vastly different. The first time, I came in one night about 45 minutes before they were supposed to close, but the chairs were all up on the tables and the guy told me they were only taking to-go orders. That was fine, I only live a few blocks away. I ordered yellow curry chicken and Phat si-io. It took a little more than 20 minutes to get my order, even though I was the only one there. I paid and went home. When I got home, the curry chicken didn’t have any rice with it. It’s fine if it doesn’t come with rice, but he should have mentioned that when I ordered it, so I could have decided to add rice, or not. The curry tasted good, but it’s not the same without rice. The Phat si-io was a different story. When I opened the plastic container it was in, everything came out in one big, cold lump. It’s clear they made it earlier in the day(I hope!) and stuck it in a fridge. It didn’t heat up well, and was not delicious. Overall, I was pretty unhappy with my first Tuk-Tuk experience. I decided to give them another shot, and had lunch there today. The wait staff were both very nice and attentive, and smiled a lot, which is awesome. The Phat si-io came within ten minutes(with several other tables filled — why so much faster this time?). It was warm and good, but not great. It seemed to be over-seasoned. The fresh spring rolls were delicious though. I won’t be coming back, but I’d say if you visited during the day, the daytime staff will do a good job for you.

Service: Delivery, fast & correct Food: It was decent. Clean, tasted fine but lackluster. More on the bland side. Fresh Summer Rolls — no flavor Larb Salad w/Chicken — was dry Green Curry — very thin sauce I won’t be ordering from here again.

Come here almost weekly for their pad see ew since they are close to my house and open pretty late. Prices are comparable to other Thai spots in the area, though I do feel it’s a bit cheaper. Pad see ew always has good temp and the ratio of beef to veg to noodles was good. A bit on the saucy side, but great flavor overall. Staff is friendly and helpful. Quick turnaround on takeout orders.

My partner and I love this place. Especially their soups. She always gets the Tom Yum and I get the Tom Kha. Both are always delicious. We order almost every week. Thankfully we no longer will have to spend so much money here now, since I ordered tonight and got spring rolls that were burnt to a crisp(see photo). After complaining they said the best they could do is offer a %10 credit… so i got a $ 4 credit. Almost half off for nasty burnt rolls. Fuck you Tuk Tuk… fuck you.

I was pleasantly surprised the last time I came here. We came after bouldering in El Cerrito and were quite hungry. Having been here a couple times in the past, I didn’t really remember any distinctive features or spectacular food. I think ordered the green papaya salad last time and it tasted just that, papaya salad. However, I really thought my most recent experience was quite good and warranted a review! I ordered the sizzling spicy platter($ 10.79) and added seafood($ 2). The spicy platter came with zucchini, onion, carrot, baby corn, broccoli in our chilli oyster sauce. It came steaming hot and looked absolutely delicious. The seafood included shrimp, squid and fish. It was filling, and I loved the mix of spicy, salty and sweet flavors. I was stuffed after eating this dish, without any carb side orders. I would highly recommend getting this dish, it’s great to share as well! They’re open until 1:30am, so they’re a great place to go after weekend night fun, or out with friends for a late meal. They also have a deal for $ 1 off thai iced tea if you check in on Unilocal so make sure to do that!

Yes, yes and YES please! Found this place last week(before Unilocal) late night. Had the fried chicken with Thai fried rice. To die for ! So, my second time I had the veggie spring rolls and pineapple sole with Jasmine rice. Spicy sweet yumminess!!! I’m shocked that they don’t charge more. This place is awesome !

Consistently good food. I come here regularly because it’s a very quick walk from my office and they have large reasonably priced portions on their lunch menu. The staff is attentive when the place is slow but can forget about people when full. Try the sweet potato appetizer, I love that.

I’ve lived only two blocks away from Tuk Tuk for the past few years. Initially, I wasn’t crazy about the food. The red curry in particular was sub par. However, due to its proximity to my apartment, I’ve gone back several times since I wrote my original review and I’ve tried a few more items on the menu. The red curry still sucks, and the pad thai is nothing special. However, the fried chicken with thai fried rice is a really great dish. The chicken comes with a sweet dipping sauce that perfectly complements the savory chicken and rice. Another good dish that I’ve had there is the sizzling chicken. I love that the dish is actually sizzling when it is brought out. The spicy sauce is really great, and all of the vegetables are crisp and flavorful. The dishes are still overpriced for what they are, but the service is really good at Tuk Tuk, and for me at least, it’s hard to beat the convenience of it being so close to me.

I’ve walked by a dozen times without going in. They have a cute auto rickshaw (tuk tuk) in front. They were located on Shattuck Ave between Dwight Way and Haste St in Berkeley. I finally went for lunch before a movie. I ordered the Squid Salad Thai Hot. The salad came out fast. It was lettuce with squid and a lime dressing. Nothing fancy. It was very plain and basic. Not much thought was put in to the salad. I did like the level of heat. I may try some other items if I happen to be walking by again.
