I ordered the pad thai and received a pile of noodles and ketchup. Seriously, my girlfriend tried it too and she immediately recognized the taste of ketchup. No spice. No sauce. Just Heinz. I didn’t even finish it and the only saving grace was that it was cheap so I didn’t waste a ton of money. Never going back.

I come here pretty often, and I usually get the fried chicken over fried rice. The fried chicken is similar to katsu but has its own twist; unlike katsu, the breading is a thinner layer. The chicken to breading ratio is perfect and the chicken has a nice crunch to it. Their version is on the sweeter side. It comes with a sweet chili sauce that complements the fried chicken really well. The fried rice is simple with plenty of flavor and besides egg, they also add a few slices of tomato and cucumber. I’ve also tried their duck fried rice, per a friend’s recommendation, and I didn’t like it as much. I’m not a fan of duck meat to begin with, and the duck meat was pretty salty. Some pieces also had duck skin, which was really hard to chew, and a lot of pieces had small bones that were hard to pick out. I always end up not finishing and saving the rest for lunch the next day. The portions are huge, and the fried chicken over fried rice is definitely worth it!

Some of their entrees are excellent. Not too pricey and the portion sizes are bigger than other restaurants nearby. The pad Thai is decent. The garlic shrimp is good. It’s usually semi full so you can bring a laptop and work here too.

My husband and I have eaten here a few times, one of our fave places to go when we’re craving something and don’t know what. We live in Napa and will go all the way out to Berkeley just to have a dish from this place. My favorite is the pumpkin yellow curry and their Thai ice tea is one of the best. The majority of the staff is nice here and the prices are great, but the service and cleanliness could be a little bit better.

I’ve definitely come here a lot more than I thought I would because I love the open kitchen and the atmosphere. I’m Thai and they cater to me with making my food extra spicy and speaking in Thai when they see me. I’ve enjoyed all of their noodle dishes so far but their curry is a bit too thick, bland for me. But I love their noodles and their other rice dishes!

Whenever I don’t know what to eat, I always end up eating Thai food. Although the food at Thai Noodle II isn’t exceptional, I usually walk out of the restaurant feeling satisfied. I’m writing this review for the last thing I ate at Thai Noodle II, which was their Pad Thai. You can’t really go wrong with Pad Thai. The one special thing about my meal was that I ordered the Pad Thai with Pad See Ew noodles, which are thicker than the normal Pad Thai noodles. My boyfriend actually ordered it for me to-go, so the food wasn’t as hot/fresh as it could’ve been. I appreciated that they were fine with adjusting the order so that I could have the thicker rice noodles. The portion was extremely generous. It was so much food. The noodles were good(not wet or soggy) and had a nice, chewy consistency. The sauce was eh, a bit on the blander side. The really bad part about this dish was the chicken. I either got really rubbery pieces or really dry pieces. Not the best. Overall, I like Thai food. I like Thai Noodle II. I come here pretty often despite the fact that the quality of the ingredients are maybe a little questionable.

Food was alright. I would recommend the more flavorful dishes like the curries or items that are listed as spicy. I got the pad eun kee and it was really bland, but I guess each table is fully equipped with a range of sauces and peanuts to counter that. Atmosphere was a bit loud and unruly, especially since the kitchen is like right in the middle of the store and sometimes huge bursts of fire will erupt from a pan. Definitely a place that caters well to college students.

RATING: 3.5 stars It’s not the best Thai food I’ve ever had, but some of their entrees are fantastic. It serves the typical entrees, like Pad See Ew, Pad Thai, Tom Yum Soup, etc. Those plates are just okay; there’s nothing fancy about it because I’ve had better versions of those entrees elsewhere. The good thing about these dishes and the others as well is that they’re relatively cheap; it seems that many of the dishes are under $ 10. However, some of their entrees that you can’t find elsewhere are so good! I usually get the Garlic Crispy Pork(less than $ 10), and it’s my favorite dish from this restaurant. It’s basically crispy pork(sort of like Lechon if you’ve had Filipino food) that is glazed with a garlic sauce. It comes with a side of rice, soup, and spicy sauce. Another thing that I love from this restaurant is the Spicy Calamari($ 6.95). Although it is not spicy, the calamari is cooked perfectly, and I love the crunchiness of the calamari. My boyfriend usually gets the Duck Noodle Soup and the other soup that is offered which he raves about. Today, I ordered Tom Yum Soup with chicken($ 7.95) and Larb with ground pork($ 6.95); you can choose ground pork, beef or chicken. The Larb was good because the ground pork was cooked well, and it had good flavoring. However, I do wish that I could have asked the waitress if I can add Glass Noodle to the Larb which would have been perfect. Note that the only reason why I did not order the Garlic Crispy Pork today is because the waitress said that they ran out of ingredients to cook it which was a bit inconvenient and made me sad. Burrrr!

Favorite Thai place in Berkeley for sure! I always suggest coming here with my friends and they always loved it! The service is pretty good, waitresses are always nice and friendly! I’ve had pad Thai here and it’s pretty good, but nothing too special. Pad see ew is pretty good as well! But my favorite order and the one I always recommend to people is the yellow curry. They have great portions, there always seems to be enough rice for the entire curry. The yellow curry is not too watery and has a nice blend of sweet /spicy flavors. I usually get chicken and it’s cooked well, but the best part is definitely the vegetables! The potatoes, onions, and carrots have a consistent and tasty flavor. I’m also a big fan of their Thai tea, not too sweet and iced the right amount!

Living a block away from this place is great for the convenience. Every time I call for a pick up, my order is always ready within 10 minutes(or less)! Another thing that stands out is their portions. As a college student, this becomes important as it decides if you’re able to have another meal for the next day. Some of their portions(pad thai & pineapple fried rice are some) are seriously large. One thing they could do better on is flavor. Some of my pan-fried noodles and fried rice are a little more bland than the numerous other Thai places here in Berkeley.

Excellent service, food, and consistent quality! They are open late and have other locations. Although this is my favorite. Heading there right now! I constantly compare everbody’s chicken pad see ew, papaya salad, and pineapple fried rice to theirs! There’s is tops! The only sad thing is, wishing it was closer to my house! Go now! Love their food.

I’m surprised — their food quality has significantly increased over the past 2 years I’ve been coming! My favs: –Thai kee mao with beef: super flavorful, a bit spicy so good for people who like a bit of spice in their food! tastes really good with the jalapenos on the side –Pad see ew — same flavors as thai kee mao but not spicy at all so perfect for those who don’t like spicy! –Duck noodle soup — very flavorful, almost herbal tasting broth. noodles are cooked perfectly. amazing on a cold day! –fried calamari: great appetizer! the fry batter is never too think or oily and the sweet and spicy sauce on the side goes perfectly with it! I’ve also tried the: –crab fried rice: the fried rice itself is good because it’s has a really nice wok-taste to it but the crab makes it a bit too fishy/smelly for me –pad see won: i really like the glass noodles it comes with and the cabbage, chicken, carrots and egg; however to me it just tastes too plain. it has a strong sesame oil taste but other than that, pretty flavorless and bland to me. –½ star for some of their dishes being mediocre and –½ star for their service being a bit unattentive, but it’s understandable since they’re always so busy. Overall, this is a great restaurant for some decent Thai style noodles or rice. I’ll definitely be back!

Thai noodle II is definitely one of my favorite thai places here in Berkeley. For some reason, everytime I go it is either empty or I get the last available table. The place itself is a little small for how popular it is. It is great for groups up to 4 in my opinion. The staff is usually great. Always friendly! Once in a while the food may take a while. Its not too much of a fancy place to go but definitely is a solid place to choose for a casual dinner. I always end up getting the Pad See Ew with chicken. Its always well made with a good amount of chicken and noodles. I know many of their other dishes are also popular. Another one of my favorite is the bbq chicken over rice one. Decent amount of food and chicken! The price is also fairly reasonable. Not much to say besides Thai Noodle is a good choice. Go get it!

This place is my go-to! FOOD: Their Pad See Ew is on point and they have a wide variety of things on their menu. Hungry and want a larger portion? Go for the Fried Chicken Over Green Curry Fried Rice. Also, you can never go wrong with the Ka Na Moo Korb! For soups, I always get duck noodle soup and definitely definitely try their mango sticky rice. SOGOOD. Atmosphere: This place is always packed with people but has a nice conversational atmosphere. It’s a great place to catch up with friends, grab a quick bite to eat or even a casual date. Overall great place with great food!

I can only speak of one dish and my takeout experience. Pad See Ew didn’t disappoint and there was no wait when picking up my takeout… fairly quick turnaround from when I called in. I also found it slightly amusing that they had«kill» instead of jill on the receipt for the order name. Ha.

I had the Eggplant delight, one of their pork specials, Pad Thai and pineapple fried rice the last time I had eaten at Thai noodle. Regularly, I have the yellow curry with duck. All of the dishes were fulfilling. Safe bet for celebrating different occasions.

For some reason every time I eat here(dine in), the food is great, but when I order take out, it’s subpar, usually ending up bland. Regardless, the food comes out pretty quickly, and the service is nice. On their good days, the pad kee mao is great. Portions are pretty generous.

I ordered a chicken red curry from here to go… the curry seemed to be hot water with pink food dye added to it and the chicken was very low quality and clumped into large pieces(hard to eat the curry then with a spoon). The red curry came with white rice, but nevertheless the food was not worth what I paid for it — $ 9. Do not recommend for the curries, but I haven’t had anything else on the menu.

Thai Noodle II satisfies my craving for tom yum whenever I have it. It’s delightfully tangy and chock full of mushrooms, onions, chicken, and basil. Also, a must get is the fried chicken fried rice… I always tell myself I’m going to try something different when I go but I always end up getting the same thing XD I would give 4 stars for the food but this place gets 3 stars cuz it’s not the cleanest place and is slightly pricey for Thai food, although most Thai places in this area are similarly priced. Service is okay.

I like it here. The staff is super smiley and the food is delish. I’ve tried the eggplant basil, paid thai, woon sen pad thai, kaw soi curry noodle soup, yellow curry, red curry(it’s a little spicy), and the fried banana ice cream. EVERYTHINGISGREAT! Especially the ice cream. Little fried balls of gooey creamy goodness. So yummy in my little bear tummy! The only improvement I would give is that the portions got smaller over the past year. When you’re trying to get fat for hibernation, this only means you have to hit up some cheap Berkeley college food on your way home.

A review for this delightful establishment is extremely long overdue. That having been said, I’m actually going to keep it short. I’m keeping it short because I’m going to post a lot more reviews ongoing as it is greatly needed because I love this place so much(and I come here practically every day). So, I’m going to keep this one focused and highlight something very specific and special about this wonderful place. There are two of the nicest servers here(among many others here) by which I’ve ever had the pleasure of being served: Mint and Ju… …or… Ju and Mint… …depending on who welcomes you first! To be clear(totally impossible), they are both simultaneously #1 and my favorite! Eieiei! In short, they both rock and have become very near and dear friends of mine. You might say I’m biased but, too bad. See for yourself! You’ll see what I mean! Oh! And in case you didn’t infer already, the food is excellent! Duh! Rak you both na kup! :*

my favorite, new go-to place for eggplant dish! I’ve tried the eggplant dish at other places like Imm, Racha, and Thai House, but I think this place executes the dish very well It’s located close to campus and the service is very friendly :) I always end up getting the eggplant with beef and rice. Their black garlic sauce is yummy… I take it home with whatever leftovers I have and absorb the sauce into the rice! They open until pretty late, too, which is nice for late night food cravings.

Red curry with beef and pumpkin tastes good. I like how they put pumpkin in the curry. The space is limited and it’s pretty noisy as the kitchen is open, next to the table. Quite a lot of smoke. But overall a typical Thai restaurant. Nothing surprising, neither disappointing.

This place is pretty good — its not too small and the prices are perfect for the portion you get. I ordered the Pad Thai, which I thought would be vegetarian but there was a good amount of meat in it, guess you have to ask for a veggie option. The service was quick and efficient, it seems like everyone who works here is just chill and nice.

This is my favorite Thai place in Berkeley, hands down! I absolutely love the food here! Although I normally order either the Red Curry with Duck(with added pumpkin), or the Massaman Kai, I’ve tried many of their other dishes with no complaints. The curry here is cooked very much the way I like it; not too thick, tons of flavor with just enough coconut milk and spice, and LARGE portions! It doesn’t look like it initially, but halfway through the meal I feel like I can’t finish it(which says a lot), yet the taste and quality keeps me going! Also, I love the ability to add as many side condiments as you like, especially because I love to PILE on the peanuts in most Thai dishes I eat! They also have chili oil, jalapeños in their own juice, dry chili flakes, and soy sauce. Either with friends or on your own, I absolutely recommend this place when looking for your Thai fix.

Price: average Taste: mediocre. These are the entrees I’ve tried: Chicken Curry: curry had a strong taste, but it was very watery. The rice that came with it wasn’t even fully cooked. Lord: Too sweet and saucy. I don’t recommend this dish Fried Tofu: Tofu had a funky smell to it and was very dry and not crunchy Fresh Spring Rolls: pricey Fried Chicken over Fried Rice: huge portions and was very filling. The fried chicken was fortunately cooked just right and was crispy and went well with the fried rice. Service is really slow and they don’t really pay attention to their customers.

Food: Panang Nuer-I was a little surprised at first that Panang Nuer came in a soup bowl with a big scoop of rice on the side. I was expecting more of a plate of thicker and drier curry over rice but that’s not too important… I liked the curry overall, but it was a little bit on the sweet side for me and I couldn’t finish it because of that. In my opinion, the curry was soupy and I felt the dish would be better if they made the panang curry less watered down. The flavors of the curry were very strong especially the coconut milk and the basil. The bell peppers in the curry seemed fresh and nicely cooked but the beef was bit tough. Also the curry was spicier than I thought and I think I went through 3 glasses of water haha. Luckily the waiter was attentive and kept refilling it for me! Service: I came here with my friend late evening and since it was really empty we were seated and served within 15 minutes. I have no complaints besides the waiter taking away the spice rack in the middle of our meal which seemed weird. I think they wanted to clean up soon but we didn’t really mind.

In the service industry, consistency is key. When I come to a restaurant with great service, I expect to get the same service every time I return. For the most part, this is true with Thai Noodle II. For this instance, it was not. Thai Noodle II has distinguished itself as one of, if not the only, Thai restaurant on Southside open until midnight that takes card. It has been my go-to when I need a late night meal, and they often deliver masterfully. This has changed after today. I understand that school is not in session. Odds are, business is slow. If you change your hours or close your kitchen, please reflect it on your hours. I came in a bit shy of 11:30PM, and they already closed the kitchen, when ordinarily the restaurant closes at midnight. That’s not okay. It’s this sort of inconsistency that will keep me from going to even a restaurant I love. I cannot help but say that Thai Noodle II is one of the better Thai restaurants around. Their pad thai may be a bit ketchup-y but it’s still really good. Their instant noodle dishes are bomb. Most of all, I could count on them ready to take my order even if they were about to close. Unfortunately I can’t rely on that anymore. TIP: Try their instant noodle dishes, or perhaps take your business elsewhere.

For my first time eating here. I was fully satisfied with the food. I mean, the portions are big, delicious, and at a very decent price. We went for the duck fried rice, the grilled salmon, and fried clamari as our appetizer. Our waiter was nice and attentive. The cooks were fast on making the orders even though it was busy. My friend who is a regular here told me that service is fast and even faster if you’re here when they open at 11am. I would of given Thai Noodle 5 stars but I was a bit disgusted on how they store their supplies in the restroom a few feet away from the toilet which I’m sure is a health code violation. When someone’s doing the royal squat and flushes. All that goes in the air and covers a six foot radius. The food is really good but they need to store their supplies elsewhere. I’m surprised no one has complained. If they straighten that problem in the restroom I’ll update my review.

Thai Noodle was one of my favorite places to eat as a Berkeley student. The serving sizes are huge and the prices are low, so it’s perfect for a student budget! I don’t think I’ve ever really had a negative experience here. It definitely has become one of my go to places in Berkeley because of it’s convenient location on Telegraph Ave. the service is fast. It is a small place, but I don’t remember ever waiting for a seat. Personal favorites include the duck noodle soup, pad see ew, pad thai(of course!), and any of the fried rice dishes(the fried chicken over fried rice is always such a huge portion if you want to share or are super hungry!). Nothing to complain about here! Perhaps not the fanciest dining establishment in Berkeley, but this place has consistently been a great place to grab a casual, delicious lunch or dinner with friends.

I don’t always like to sit and eat here just because it’s so gloomy inside but on a nice sunny day, I had no complaints! I’ve been here many times and would consider this to be one of the best Thai places in Berkeley. The curry soup which contains coconut milk, chicken and shrimp(or tofu), noodles, and vegetables, is my favorite dish on the menu. It is a rich, sweet, and savory soup that will fill you up. The pad see ew is also delicious. The portions are VERY generous and for the price, Thai Noodle is one of the best places for Thai food!
