Stadium & Allston Place

I have been living in this place for 3 years. Everything is awesome here. Comfortable, relaxed and pretty close to downtown Berkeley, which is a bonus for people to hang out for movies, drinks and restaurants.
The property managers are very helpful. They managed everything pretty well. I can’t remember how many times I had been locked out because I left my keys home, but they would immediately lay aside their work and opened the door for me.
I am graduating next year. I think I will miss this place where I stay for my college years. If you are looking for housing in Berkeley, pick Stadium Place.

I’ve lived at Stadium Place for almost two years, and I must say, I have not made a better decision in terms of housing at Berkeley.
The place is: clean, conveniently located close to campus, relatively new compared to most housing options at Berkeley, is well-​furnished with couches and solid kitchen equipment (such as a dish dryer and kitchen sink garbage system), has sufficient washing and drying facilities, a beautiful balcony with a lovely view of the San Francisco Bay — and most importantly, under the apartment manager Melissa Galli, has an extremely well-​organized management.
The management constantly seeks to integrate the apartment tenants by organizing frequent activities and food and swag giveaways. For example, we had a Halloween event, free breakfast, a nachos party, as well as a Chinese New Year party. How the management manages to organize these events to make tenants feel so comfortable always amazes me.
The only downside would be the price of rent which is relatively steep, but is made up by organized and friendly management, the facilities, the new-​ness of the building, as well as the convenient location.
Would definitely highly recommend, and please do not hesitate to contact the most friendly, welcoming, and approachable Leasing Manager — Melissa!

This is probably THE worst place you could possibly choose to live in. Here are my list of pros and cons.

— Parking is absolutely unreasonably expensive
— «high speed internet» is supposedly included. But in reality, internet is so slow it’s pretty much nonexistent
— Management is very rude
— We were charged an illegal fee. Instead of being automatically reimbursed, we had to ASK for the money back. The nerve…
— Rooms are tiny and not worth the ridiculous price
Here’s an example of the poor internet and service of Stadium Place:
We’ve been having internet problems ever since we moved in. At first I did what I was told to do. I called the internet provider. I had the longest call log they’ve ever had, and ultimately the guy told me to e-​mail them while I was experiencing the problem of no internet (!!!)
Anyway, I’ve gone to the officer 3 times to complain about the lack of promised internet. All 3 times I was interrupted by the person at the desk before I could even finish. They told me to just call the internet provider. When I calmly explained I’ve done this, they tell me that everyone is having problems with the internet and they’re trying to fix it. (why would they even recommend me to call the internet provider if they know it won’t work?) Then, I was promised an update on the internet status. Month and a half later, nothing…
I once asked for a new key because I was given a faulty key (shouldn’t have even happened in the first place but whatever…) When I received my new key, it still didn’t work properly. You had to violently jimmy the key while kicking the door. I tell the guy making the keys. He comes out to prove to me that it works, the whole time while on the phone. Then after he struggles to get the door open, he rolls his eyes and leaves.
Overall, management is extremely unprofessional and rude. There are illegal charges. Price is definitely not worth it. Promised services are not supplied.

If I could give this company an eighth of a star, I would. I agree with Annie S. on the beauty of the rooftop and conveniece next to BART. But there is no place for your bike, all the poles and other places are taken and there is a waiting list if you have a car, so good luck with that! The apartments are WAY overpriced and the management is completely unprofessional. I signed a new lease with them during the middle of their one year contract period only to be slammed with the previous tenant’s electricity bills (which I was told by one employee I was not responsible of, who no longer works there) for when I did not inhabit the apartment and a 235 dollar cleaning fee after I scrubbed that place spotless. The property manager Amee Boswell is also extremely rude. I will never recommend these apartments to anyone.

I used to be very fond of Stadium & Allston Place, but…
Pros: It’s convenient how the apartments come with a TV, coffee table, and nice big couch… or how Stadium Place has a bike rental program for its residents. The views from their patios are pretty (especially the view from the Stadium Place patio (Bay Bridge and Golden Gate Bridge)). All these factors are why I give this place two stars instead of one.
Cons: The rooms are small, and they are expensive. Management also needs a lot of improvement. One time when we were touring Stadium Place, management took us to one of the rooms without notifying the tenants (isn’t this breaking the contract?). Management guessed that no one would be in the apartment, so after ringing the doorbell and waiting for a few seconds, we went in… only to find out that one of the tenants was in the bedroom with a special someone in bed (bra and handcuff on the ground). AWKWARD. Poor tenant was so shocked and annoyed. Management tried to play it off by closing the bedroom door and showing us the patio and living room, while my roommates and I just wanted to bounce… nice one management. Very professional.
