This is a nice family run place that has a good selection of wine and spirits. The neighborhood is lucky to have this store. Anyone who thinks its a «sketchy place», well, it’s a liquor store. The owner doesn’t think everyone is out to steal from him, but realistically knows it’s a possibility from anyone that walks through the door and still treats everyone with respect. I’m happy to be a customer.

St. Helena is just a fancy name for a regular ‘hood liquor store. pricey wines and unpriced beers. good microbrew selection. buys: fosters premium ale(1.99) priced, charged 3.85 with tax and all –showed clerk the tag on display –says he mistook it for budweiser drips: –no scanner used, whatever clerks remembers is what u are charged.

The wine and liquor inventory is crappy and prices are moderately high. The area is definitely sketchy. I stopped in at about 8pm on a Friday, and I felt bad tethering up my dog to one of the poles guarding the entrance. I suppose it’s nice to have any sort of liquor store in the area, except there are alternatives a few blocks east and south.

Cool little liquor store. You will get your moderately priced beer/wine/liquor, but you won’t get much variety. It’s open late and has its own parking, so that’s a plus. But in a sketchy area, which is a minus.

Decent selection of micro-brews, though prices are a bit high. Never seem to have half-and-half when I need it.
