I’ve lived less than a block away from here for over a year but avoided this place because: on 2 occasions, using 2 different machines, I washed clothes and they came out DRY.(Usually water is the key ingredient necessary to launder clothing) About a month ago, they installed brand new washers and dryers; I returned to try the place again as it is much more convenient than driving somewhere. What I have found after using the new machines for about a month now is: the overpriced wash is not a huge concern to me, but the brand new dryers seem to have been turned down. To dry 10 pairs of socks takes at-least 45 minutes. My conclusion is that the management either has no clue how to run/maintain the equipment or they are purposely altering the performance of the BRANDNEW equipment in order to gain $/customer or reduce their utility cost, maybe both. I recommend magic laundry, just a short drive down market.

There are more dryers that are out of service than are working. Have to wait an extra 30 min to dry my wet clothes, and there are only 3 other people here. Don’t come here in less you have a lot of time on your hands and are not bothered by screaming children.

Change machines that won’t accept a perfectly crisp bill, advertised wifi that’s been down for months, angry mothers screaming at their children, broken driers, broken promises, broken dreams. Beware: this is a laundromat of sadness.

Spacious. It ends there. Very few of the dryers work. There are tags saying out of service, the ones with no tags sit there will clothes inside for a long time. I finally was able to use a dryer. 20 min later, clothes not dry. The glass was warm, but the inside was not. I switched to another dryer. Nothing. Other people were complaining too. I will never go back. My search for a haircut and a good wash and dry in Oakland continues.

Facility is clean and staff is very friendly. The only issue is that there aren’t enough working dryers and not enough carts. I do appreciate them for having wifi and a few TV’s to watch! There are also a few convenience stores in the general area and works great if you are in need of a mid laundry snack!

I really don’t mind going to the laundromat, so not having a good dryer in my new apartment isn’t a big deal for twice a month sheets and towels. I’ve been to Sparkle Clean three times and my experiences have gotten progressively worse. Machines out of order, change machine only works intermittently, the pan handling. The sign says free Wi Fi but there is none. I’ll be looking for a new place to go.

I wish more of their dryers worked, but other than that I’m appreciative of this place. I called on a Friday and they said they were open ’til 10, last wash at 9. Because I like doing laundry on a Friday night.

The upside; always clean and friendly. The downside; more pan handling than a Top Chef marathon! Quarters mean change, and crack heads will hound you for a quarter! Stand your ground and keep your money, you’re only funding the liquor store a few doors down. They keeps it lovely! Lack of working equipment is killing this place.

Been going here for over a year. Recent owner change(??) changed signs and got wifi. But, recently its gone downhill. No wifi for months, though it is still posted, more than half the driers were down yesterday, no staff were working. Many driers not labeled out of service have barely any heat so I had to move driers a couple of times. Got pestered by a homeless guy, both inside and outside the place, even when sitting in my car. Same homeless guy stood in the door smoking, filling the place with his stink. The parking lot was flooded because the drain was clogged. When the staff is there, they do keep the place clean, and will give you credit on obviously busted equipment. But in general it is a gamble. I’m done with it. Sorry guys. I’ll go elsewhere even if more expensive.

After moving into my current apartment I was happy to find out I had a laundromat so close by. The first several times I went it wasn’t too crowded, I didn’t have a problem finding a machine to use. There’s both top and side loading washers, the inside is pretty clean too. There’s a few different TVs inside and a small parking lot. There’s also a nice guy working here who helps you carry your laundry baskets out to your car when you’re finished. The last time I went must have been a busy time because it was considerably full inside. Last time I went it looked like several of the dryers were out of order too… I was starting to get tired of the busyness and all the people, and didn’t want to wait to see if I was going to have to wait for a dryer(since a bunch were broken), so I took my wet clothes to my car and hit up my old local laundromat down the street. I actually haven’t been back here in awhile since I recently bought a portable mini washer(**fantastic** purchase btw), but I’ll still have to come back when I need to wash huge things like my comforters.

The good thing about this place is that you have free wifi — I like that a lot as, you know, I can write this Unilocal review when my clothes are spinning in the machines. The place is not as clean as I hope it can, especially in the late evening, after a lot of customers have washed their whatever in the machines(Well, I saw one washing floor mats in the machine). I am moving so this might be the last time I use this laundromat. It’s not bad, as it is the only laundromat in the vicinity…

There is another Unilocal listing for Clothes Spin Coin Laundry at the same address, but it’s now«Sparkle Clean Wash and Dry». Open till midnight + bright + spotlessly clean + parking lot = my kind of laundromat. Extra points for the helpful yet obviously on heavy stimulants patron who exchanged quarters for cash with me after he accidentally got $ 20 worth of quarters. More points for the adorable, tiny, ancient man fastidiously wiping clean every single machine one by one over and over again.
