Simone is incredibly amazing!!! Her color skills are impeccable, not to mention she is a great stylist as well! She lifted my hair from nearly black to a pretty brown with sandy blond highlights. I absolutely love it!!! Simone also has a way with the flat iron that gets my hair bone straight but maintains the volume I’m looking for. I would highly recommend Simone to anyone new to the bay area or looking for a new stylist!

Simone is fabulous. She has done a great job working with my very thin hair on both cut and color. I recommended her to my daughter who has long hair and she also loved her cut. Simone is professional and personable. I would highly recommend Simone’s services!

Simone was recommended to me by Caitie, another excellent stylist at Vine Street Salon, because I needed my hair done for my wedding! I have super long hair and needed all of it curled and partially braided in half an hour or less. Simone got back to me very quickly even though she was traveling at the time and asked me for photos and ideas — and even a description of my dress so she could be prepared. I was on a really tight schedule, and she gave me amazing, perfect, tasteful hair in just 20 minutes or so. I was much more relaxed about the wedding after my visit. And the style lasted the whole night (til 3am) with very little spray. I was pretty blown away. Plus she’s really cool. Worth the price. ($ 85)

I am one of those people who is very nervous about having my hair cut, and I don’t trust most people to do what I like. However, my sister recommended Simone to me, and now I never want anyone else to cut my hair! She gave me a cut that really framed my face well and gave me a whole new attitude. I love the way she puts a lot of care into her work and how much she values the health of my hair. Simone is amazing! I recommend her to anyone and everyone :)

Simone is FANTASTIC! She does the best job with color I have ever had– and gives a great cut to boot. She has flexible scheduling as well– which is wonderful for me, considering that I have a crazy, crazy schedule. I also love that I can go a while between cuts/​colors– making maintaining my hair much more manageable.
I have thick, long, curly hair and Simone does a fantastic job. Even better, when I walk out of an appointment, not only does my hair look fabulous, but my soul is a little happier as well.

Love getting my hair done here with Simone. I’m terrible at deciding what I want with my hair but she helped me go from a tiny girl with too much long black hair to a tiny woman with an edgy cut. :) love it!

Took me a while but I finalmente manage to write her a review.
I called Simone one day before my civil wedding ceremony because the friends that would help me with my hair bailed on me last minute. After checking her availability she call me back almost immediately and accept to go to my house the next morning and help me out.
At first I was really afraid of hiring a person with so few reviews on Unilocal and that I never worked with before, but I wanted someone who had experience with Afro American hair and seemed to me that Simone was this person. I have a really coarse hair that I can’t control, and since it was a last minute arrangement for a very important occasion experience with this kind of hair was a must for me.
On the morning Simone arrived at my house in time and was a sweetheart. In minutes she understand and figured my style and what I wanted. She also was very understanding on all the noise level from my friends on the house and the rush I was.
After an hour of work my hair ended up perfect, looked like art more than a hair (no kidding). It was better than I imagined, and I got many compliments from everybody.
Her price is what you’ll find going to a regular salon, but it was totally worthy considering her talent and flexibility.
Simone is really attentive to the details and didn’t leave until everything was perfect.
The hard part was need to undo that pretty hair.
Thank you again Simone for transforming a desperate bride. It was great having you on my special day.

Simone is amazing! I found her on Unilocal and love what everyone says about her.
I brought my 6 year old daughter in for a wash and flat iron and my daughter loves Simone (and her new hair style of course).
She’s also does a great protective style, a full sew in weave, which my hair thoroughly appreciates.
She’s very honest and her prices are fair.
She also does a courtesy reminder re: your appointment, which is helpful.
Simone gives you the time and advice you need re: your hair style desires and hair needs, which is extremely hard to come by theses days.

Simone is an awesome stylist! She can do all styles, cuts, and color. Her professionalism is outstanding!

Simone is like no other hair stylist I’ve ever known. She truly cares about the health of her client’s hair.
I wore a weave for a while, and spent years and a lot of money having my hair done by a hairdresser who cared more about sending me off with a cute hairstyle, and less about the damage that was being done to my hair and scalp. I also spent a lot of time waiting for my turn along with the other 3 clients who had appointments at the same time as me. I knew it was time to make a change.
During my first telephone conversation with Simone, it was as if the clouds parted and the heavens began to sing! She really listened, and really got me. During my first visit with her, I was pleasantly surprised by the professionalism of the salon staff. Simone came and greeted me, and I was in her chair right away! (What, no waiting??)
I wore a sew-​in weave to her shop, and left with a sew-​in weave, but the care, service and advice that I got was very different from what I was used to. My hair received some much-​needed nurturing, and Simone made sure I had enough information for the home-​care of my hair. She also recommended some great hair-​care products!
Since that first visit, we’ve tried a few new things with my hair. I’m always happy with the outcome, and my hair is getting healthier and healthier ever day.
If you are looking for a REAL hair stylist, you need to try Simone. You will not be disappointed.

Last week I met a woman at a fundraiser with a fantastic haircut. I asked her where she had it done, and this led me to Simone! I don’t think I can speak highly enough about the amazing haircut Simone gave me. I feel like a new person. She cut my shoulder length natural hair into a stunning short style. I love it!
It has taken me ages to find someone who can cut natural hair properly (and confidently) in the Bay Area. Now, I can stop schlepping to New York to get it cut! I’m looking forward to going out tonight — and telling anyone who asks who cut my hair.

Personally I think Simone is one of the best all around hair stylist in the bay… She is ALWAYS concerned about the health of your hair before anything. After about a month in a half, she had my hair at tip top condition, after being broken off in the back and damaged ends. She even gave me a rundown of how to care for my hair in between appts. As far as styling goes… I think the photos speak for themselves… She’s a superb stylist… I mean awesome…
I met Simone at my modeling/​etiquette class graduation back in 2004. She was the on set stylist for the graduates. My parents were so happy with the way she styled my hair opposed to other people I had been to! So Simone became my stylist after that day.
In addition to being a great stylist, she is a cool person. It’s very pleasant to have an easy going person working on your hair. Because I’ve had a stylist that was off the wall in the past. And it was NOT pleasant… Made me feel very tense. :-[ But back to Simone… She likes to take care of her clients by making sure they’re comfortable all while she’s doing their hair.
So, yes!!! I highly recommend Simone for all your hair needs!!! Trust me… I’m an honest person. :-) Wouldn’t steer you wrong! SHE’S AWSOME!!! No, really tho…

Simone has been my hair stylist since 2011. I even had her prepare my hair on my wedding day and she fit the veil I brought in until it was just so. From my experience, Simone is talented in many ways with hair: color streaks, highlights, layering, thinning out, the mod «straight» look and «wavy curls» look. When I go to see Simone, it is not simply about a wash, trim and blow dry. It is about the art of hair and how her creativity and boldness seeps into your look so that when you walk out of there onto the street, you feel fabulous. I also enjoy the fun we have talking and giggling about life!

I have been a client of Simone’s off and on since I was 12… I’m 26 now. I love her versatility as a stylist– she can do it all on different textures of hair. From weaving to dying to cutting to perming to deep conditioning to flat ironing, she does it flawlessly. She recently did the hair of my cousin’s bridal party. What I love MOST about Simone is not her talent, but her passion and knowledge about hair.
