Rupa’s Eyebrow Threading

Rupa is great! She works out of her home and is very thorough with every customer. She can get booked quickly since she has a lot of UC Berkeley students who go to her. Rupa is very honest — she’ll tell you what she thinks is wrong with your eyebrows and will explain how she plans to slowly shape them. She also provides tips on how to grow your eyebrows.
Tip: Be patient. It’s worth it! I had really thin eyebrows when I first started seeing her and they’ve grown nicely over the past few months. =)

I’m so glad that the Unilocal reviews are accurate. She promised me she would fix my eyebrow shape since my previous threader was obviously blind. After my second appointment I have to say she is totally legit. She is a true professional and also provides great tips on growing my eyebrows. I’m a fan.

This lady is amazing. Just flawless on her work. She is pro and has experience. been doing this for more than 25 yrs and truly truly cares about her clients. I recommend you guys to book an appointment as she is super busy and booked by the UCB students mostly. After the threading session, she gives you great advice on how to manage and maintain your brows. The place is in a apartment complex. yes it is a bit weird, BUT inside is a very clean sanitized little room. She makes you hand sanitize before the procedure and is careful with every strand of eyebrow hair!

A gem of a human. The most compassionate person I’ve encountered in a while committed to making the her clients feel absolutely beautiful from the inside and out. She’s had an extraordinary life, we can learn so much.
She is very particular with eyebrows. Never met anyone before who is so committed in the shape, and giving you tips to grow them! And it totally works, we just need to be patient. Seeing her for the past 6 months, and I have full thick eyebrows again (for a Filipino Indian). please tell all of your friends to come and visit. Her work is exquisite, and her lessons will keep you captivated.

I’ve had threading done for years now and, like many fellow Unilocalers, do not trust my brows to just anyone. Rupa is by far the BEST threader I’ve ever had.
She was detailed, explained to me what she was going to do BEFORE doing it (which is usually the opposite and usually involves rationalizing as to why they messed up your brows), gave me tips on how to take care of my brows and even knew which side I usually sleep on based on my brows! She’s THAT good!
Call a day ahead to make an appointment, although she took me same day because it was my first visit with her.
$ 15 for both eyebrow and lip.

I have always heard those horror stories of eyebrow threading gone awry, so I took my time trying to find a person who I would feel confident enough to let near my eyebrows. Thankfully, I trust Rupa with my eyebrows. She spends so much time and effort in understanding your eyebrows to a point where you know that she cares about making you feel your best.
She runs a really no-​nonsense but efficient home salon business — she never rushes her clients and is upfront and honest about how many sessions it will take for you to achieve your ideal brow shape. She’s easily available by text or phone.
For only $ 10 for eyebrow threading, I can’t see myself going anywhere else!

I have been going to Rupa consistently for a year and a half. Now my eyebrows are no longer thin from waxing and have an arch. I’m so happy to have found her.

She’s seriously the sweetest person ever and really knows how to pick the perfect eyebrow shape to define your face! I used to go to a really good one in SF but ever since I found out about Rupa and her services — there was absolutely no turning back. She runs her store from her home in an apartment complex. It’s not sketchy at all and it’s very easy to get to! Make sure you make an appointment with her before going. I made the mistake my very first time and found out that there were at least 5 people in line before she could get to me. I waited an hour but it was worth the wait! She even offered me complimentary services for upper lip threading (which I declined because girlfriend here does not have time to shave every morsel of my body every month!)

I have been going to Rupa’s since I relocated to Berkeley, CA this past fall for graduate school. If I’m going to be totally honest, finding a good person to thread my eyebrows was actually a huge source of consternation while I was prepping for my cross country move. Rupa has been absolutely incredible and welcoming. She always remembers me and asks about me, and is helping rehab my eyebrows after a particularly bad pluck at M & M which left my eyebrows incredibly short but thankfully not too thin. I’ve been getting my eyebrows threaded since I was 13 (currently 24) and Rupa is up there with the best people I have ever seen.
The shop is run out of her home, which is not hard to find, but is in an apartment complex (no key code needed) in case you’re looking. Her apartment is also very accessible for those who need it. Be warned, she will remember if you cancel on her more than once. She doesn’t like her time wasted, so please be respectful of that.
There is really no end to the compliments I can give to Rupa, if you’re in Berkeley/​Oakland/​can get here, there’s really no excuse to go anywhere else.

Since making regular appointments with Rupa, the shape of my eyebrows have considerably improved. Before my eyebrows were on the thin side. In some areas you could see bald spots. She had helped me to grow out certain areas as well as improve the shape so that they shape my face beautifully. I am very pleased.
Some things you will want to consider before making an appointment: Please be considerate of her time as well as her other clients. Rupa is very accommodating to all her clients schedules. She will make appointments with you via text message or phone call. If you are running behind, a short text informing her of your schedule change helps her greatly.
Her prices are very reasonable. Depending upon your services, prices are as low as $ 15 to $ 25. These prices are just a range and are subject to vary at her discretion. Leave a healthy tip. She is worth every penny.
The best thing about Rupa is that she is honest, she loves her work, and she loves to help people. She is an expert in her field, and the women (some men too) wear her beautiful work.

I’ve gotten my eyebrows threaded at several places, and Rupa is leaps and bounds ahead of all of the other ones. She cares about your eyebrows, remembers repeat customers, and gives you advice on taking care of your eyebrows in between sessions. She is very knowledgeable, teaching me how to take care of my eyebrows. She’s already given me a better shape, and it’s scarcely been 2 sessions.
Rupa is very skilled in eyebrow threading. She can take out ingrown hairs (grown due to my tweezing) without any pain! She’s also the sweetest lady. She refuses to take tip and sometimes won’t take payment at all because she says she does touchups for free! I love Rupa, and I will definitely loyally frequent her eyebrow threading salon.

Rupa is amazing and an eyebrow goddess. If it wasn’t for her, I would still be rocking the over-​tweezed eyebrows of the early 2000’s instead of the #onfleek eyebrows I have now. Seriously, I’ve never gotten as many compliments on my eyebrows as I have after I started seeing Rupa. I will follow her to the ends of the earth.
Not only is she incredibly skilled but she tells it like it is. She berates me each time for tweezing in between sessions and even offered me complimentary weekly clean ups just so I wouldn’t touch them myself and ruin her handiwork. Today, I went to get my eyebrows threaded before my birthday weekend and she saw me and said «complimentary upper lip as well because it doesn’t look good». Blunt but hey, I rather someone straight up tell me about my mustache instead of letting me walk around with one. I love you, Rupa!
She has had a hard life but is one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. She never rushes her customers and she really takes pride in her work. Tip well because she deserves it!

I love coming here, Rupa really transformed my thin, uneven eyebrow to a wellgroomed thick and even ones. She even gave me tips on how to grow them fast, healthy and how to darken them. Thank you Rupa for taking care of my eyebrows! You are officially my eyebrow go to person!!!

There was about three ladies ahead of me but the wait was fairly quick. This was my first time getting my eyebrows threaded and not as bad as I thought. I have thin eyebrows but surprisingly, they look thicker after threading!

Rupa hands down is heaven sent! I’ve never ever known anyone to be so passionate about threading eyebrows and such an expert in knowing what brow style uniquely fits your face. It’s such an honor and blessing to sit in her chair I love and adore her! She makes her clients feels so comfortable and right at home! To see my transformation compared to how they first looked is off the charts. I can’t wait till they are completely where Rupa wants them! The oil she recommends works wonders! I drive from Dublin to Berkeley to see her and it’s so worth it you get more than just a thread you feel amazing leaving her chair!

I’ve been going to Rupa for 4 months now. All i can say is she is so sweet & has made my eye brows perfect! I’ve been going to Benefit bar for 5 years and I had to relocate to the bay. It’s conveniently near my office and I am a very happy client! ;)

There are few people in life who are as skilled and as nurturing as Rupa. She truly is one of a kind. She is an incredible person, as well as esthetician. She did a beautiful job with my eyebrows, and her knowledge and experience in the threading field was unparalleled. Finally, I can kick my overpriced, over hyped, San Francisco eyebrow lady to the curb. After my last experience in SF which was inattentive, crooked, distracted and unapologetic, for $ 45 and a couple of hours of my time, I decided I was d-​u-​n done.
I’ve always been very protective of my lush and thick brows, only in my 30’s attempting to shape and tame them to assume a more professional and groomed appearance.
I found Rupa thanks to Unilocal,and while it’s a little strange to go to someone’s apartment, it is a dedicated in home salon area. It’s with a sigh of relief to arrive, sit down and get no-​nonsense expert service after the somewhat keyed-​up and pretentious atmosphere of a salon.
Further, this was by far the most PAINLESS threading I have ever experienced! Very low key, Rupa is an Indian woman who knows how to expertly tame lady facial hair like Durga going into battle!
As threading is her technique, she barely plucks at all, and leaves the brows themselves very thick and long, but the hair surrounding the brow is all removed. I do still have to comb and groom my brows, which is perfect for me. She’s very good at creating a nice shape.
