History

Established in 1987.

New ownership as of 2015.

Miki’s Paper, formerly known as Elica’s Paper, was created over 28 years ago on Fourth Street in Berkeley California by the late Eriko Kurita. She spared no expense to design the store as an elegant Japanese gallery featuring exquisite papers. Local furniture maker Berkeley Mills crafted the display fixtures and paper drawers.

In 1997 Miyuki T. purchased the business and renamed the store Miki’s Paper. Miyuki continued the specialty offerings adding new papers and locally handcrafted products and cards. Miki’s original note cards are lovingly handmade in the shop.

In 2015 Vicky A. became the third owner, bringing with her the experience of running her family’s retail store Paper Tree. She plans to continue the legacy set by the previous owners, while adding her experience as an award winning origami artist and instructor to the offerings.
