Went to Ikea, Macy’s the we decided to go to Mancinis Sleepworld. Everything was great until the delivery. We were told that they would take our sofa bed if we bought a mattress. We bought the mattress. On the delivery date, they brought the mattress but left the sofa bed on the sidewalk.
I called the store and spoke to Jason who said that he was the store manager, who told me that they do not take sofa beds when they deliver a mattress. I explained that it was part of our agreement. He told me to call the store manager on Saturday, this being Thursday. I pointed out that he was the manager. He said that he was the day manager and the real manager will be there on Saturday as well al the sales person who sold us the mattress.
I have since called the corporate office warehouse to get the sofa bed picked up. They told me they will look into it and call me back. They did call back and stated that the salesperson was not supposed to state that they would take the sofa bed to close the deal.

Another customer said «I wish that I could give this store 0 stars. Their customer service sucks. Their sales reps are deceitful.» I said I wish I had read this review before going to this store. Buying the bed and mattress was not a happy experience. I should have walked away after 5 minutes at the store. I regret I didn’t left. The sales rep was for moments treating me like I was an idiot for not knowing certain details about mattresses. Well I am not an expert he is. The bed and mattress arrived and the first night the bed was squeaking loudly. I called next day and they said that probably it was not well mounted. Four days later! the mattress had an indentation like a 10 year old overused one. I called requesting a return and a refund of my money 3 times, they were putting me on hold and never coming back to my call. They said I needed to wait 30 days. Finally I called exactly in 30 days and they picked up the bed and mattress. After 3 weeks I realized that my money wasn’t credited to my credit card. I called and the sales rep said «You needed to call us and give us your credit card # to receive your refund!!!» Unbelievable !! I received instant credit when ever I have returned any merchandise in other stores! Of course they didn’t tell me that information verbally any of the several times I called the store. «Deceitful» is actually a nice word to qualify the reps at that store.

I wish that I could give this store 0 stars. Their customer service sucks. Their sales reps are deceitful. Just know that if you put something on layaway they’ll treat you like you’re poor and assume that you’re going to pay it off in $ 50 increments. What they didn’t know was that my (now) husband and I were already spending money on our wedding and didn’t want to spread our money too thin before we had everything finalized. Needless to say we paid it off within 4 payments 2 of which were made in the same month.
The day that I made the last $ 430 payment the man who sold us the bed swiped my card before telling me that they didn’t actually have my bed there and since it was discontinued they weren’t sure if we were going to be able to get the same bed. I asked him why it hadn’t been ordered already and his response was «I didn’t think you were going to pay it off this fast!» Unbelievable!!! Then he got to stuttering and trying to explain the BS.
Fast forward to now. Which is exactly a month from our final payment and we just received the mattress. It came without the box spring that we ordered! So instead they send us ventilated.

Update: When everything was finally ready to come in the delivery guys couldn’t leave it because the mattress was WET. It seemed the delivery truck the company had rented had a hole that leaked the rain inside and through (?) the plastic wrap on the mattress. At this point all I could do is laugh as I shouldn’t have expected any different. Still wanting to get this over with and just take home our purchase (from December 2015), I let the salesman talk me into waiting one more week to deliver a new, dry mattress. Now the day is finally here and oops! Somewhere along the way, the headboard was dropped and «destroyed» (his word not mine, I never got to see it). Now I just wanted to cry. With a new headboard set to come in a month later (April 28) we finally said enough! and are having the mattress and frame removed and refunded today! I kept hoping it would work out in the end and be worth it but everything is just tainted and we cannot wait to have it out of our house.

I cannot comment on purchasing a mattress from this store. However, I would like to praise this business for their support of the community. Mancini’s generously donated beanbag chairs to all of the new classrooms at our low– income elementary school. Our students are already enjoying reading in these chairs. The staff at this store were particularly helpful and friendly, please support Mancini’s so they can continue to support our students!

My husband and I purchased our bed (under warranty) from this Mancinis’ location a little over 2 years ago, where recently the mattress was showing significant sagging and wear. We contacted the store in which they organized a 3^rd party to come out and assess the bed’s state to see if it falls under warranty provisions. The claim was denied by the manufacture and it seemed we were stuck w/a very expensive sagging bed.
The manager of the store, Gerry, took a second look at the bed’s photos and assessment and pushed the manufacture to replace the mattress for us. He even got Mr. Mancini involved in the case!
2 weeks later our mattress was replaced, thanks to Gerry and his amazing customer service and ability to create a case for us.

I biked to Mancini’s today as i’m looking for a sofa-bed. This is the conversation that went on («the man» = M & me = S)
S: I’m looking for a small sofa bed.
M: Here — we have two small ones. Are you ready to buy it today?
S: No — I’m still looking.
M: We have a sale today. What made you come here today?
S: I had some time & decided to bike here. Could I look at the mattress in this sofa bed?
M: There’s no space to open it.
S: I think you could open it here.
M: OK. It’s our mattress. Come back when you’re ready to buy. We might have another sale.
S: OK. Can I also look at your mattresses; I need a new one.
M: What do you want?
S: I don’t know. What should I pay attention to?
M: Go online and figure it out. Then come back when you know what you want.

My bed sunk in the middle only after 1 year. I went back and they gave me a brand new bed no questions asked. Came and set it up and everything. The manager here was super helpful and didn’t try and up-sell just wanted to help.

We have shopped here twice now and have walked out wanting to buy more than we needed just because the staff is so helpful and kind. We got a mattress we’re excited about. Be careful!!! They have a 30 day policy, you may not return a bed that you are unhappy with for 30 days. After 3 terrible nights on my new mattress I notified Mancini’s that I wanted to exchange the bed. They informed me of their 30 day policy. So, I sealed the mattress away, purchased another (from another company), and decided to wait the additional 30 days for my refund. When the 30^th day arrived the delivery guys came to pick up my mattress, under my father’s supervision, but refused to take it saying there were stains (mind you they didn’t even remove the plastic wrapping of which it was sealed). Jerry from Mancini’s called me to inform me they would not be returning the mattress. I was appalled to say the least. I had taken extra care to cover the bed with not only a plastic mattress pad but also an additional mattress pad and sheets etc. for the three nights I did try the mattress. I then had to call their corporate headquarters to explain my situation. Corporate had me send them photos to prove there were no stains. Finally after all was said and done the mattress was picked up and I received my refund.
If you truly do try one of their mattresses for 30 days take extra care of it! This seems to me to be a catch 22 for returning the mattresses. The likelihood of there being stains on a mattress are much more after 30 days.

Bought a Aireloom Solitude medium firm at Mancini. The service and delivery were fine. They have a FABULOUS 120 day return policy where they suggest that you sleep on it for at least 30 – 60 days before even thinking about a return. We lasted about 45 days and decided that it was not quite firm enough and exchanged for a extra firm.
Realize that the feel of a mattress is a matter of personal preference. Understood, but the Aireloom Solitude extra firm is simply, by far, the best mattress we have ever had. It is perfect. I would never buy a mattress from a dealer that does not have the Mancini exchange policy. There were no questions, no arguments, just did it. Delivered on time efficiently. Great experience.

I stopped by on a Sunday, and Erik greeted me and was very polite and helpful. He listened to the budget I had to work with and led me to two mattresses. I need a super-firm mattress, and the second one seemed the best to me. Erik was very accommodating to my needs. He was flexible and treated me with respect. I did worry that the mattress would potentially not be what I hoped once I slept a full night on it. Nope– it is the BEST mattress I’ve ever owned or slept on. I am in heaven each time I sleep since I’ve had it. Easiest purchase and store experience ever, zero stress, awesome mattress, way better sleep. I love this place. Also, they were able to work within my budget easily. I came prepared to pay between $ 1K and $ 1.5K for a mattress. The wide range of mattress types and prices is one of the best aspects of this store.

We had a terrible experience at Nest in Berkeley. We were fed up after months of dealing with them and couldn’t imagine dealing with anybody else. My husband and I walked through the door at Mancini’s with an instantly noticeable frustration on our faces because we needed a bed TOMORROW. The first person/only person who greeted us, because he was the only one in the store, was Steven. From the second he opened his mouth, we knew we were in the right spot.
He showed us the cheapest bed in the store, the most expensive hand sewed local mattress for thousands of dollars, and everything in between. All the while he was helping the 4 other couples looking for something just as urgent, I have no doubt.
After spending close to an hour laying our tired bodies down on every mattress in the store, knowing full well what each had to offer (because Steven spent the time to explain IT ALL to us), we decided on the mattress my husband and I felt the most comfortable with. Bing bang boom a day later they dropped off the frame and mattress and we have been sleeping in heaven ever since!
Thank you, Steven, for your courtesy and patience and understanding. Our particular situation was a tough one and you dealt with our frustration like a true professional.
We highly recommend asking for Steven if you go to Mancini’s…the end.

We decided to go hunt for a bed, equivalent in comfort and firmness to a bed we slept on while on a cruise last year. We knew it was a Sealy Posturepedic with a special super-top-secret-just-for-cruiseline euro-top, so we looked for the best alternative. We found the closest Mancini’s and from the minute we walked in, the two sales men were courteous, acknowledged us, showed us where the Sealy’s were and gave us our space to take a look.
We never felt pressured, were able to take our time and we found a fantastic alternative. We got a great deal on a hybrid mattress/low profile box spring set and the sales men were just really friendly and professional.
Good customer service is hard to come by these days, so it was nice that they brought it back one time. :0)
Shipping was wicked fast too… got it next day. The delivery crew were good guys. quick, efficient and took our old mattress for us.
Make sure you pay attention to the warranty and return policy. it’s a good one, but simple oversights may cost you if you’re not aware (keep a mattress cover/protector on it or if it stains, you can’t return it, they DO disclose you can only return once and to give it a month, etc) They were very upfront with us from the gate so we felt the whole process was transparent and honest. we knew what to do to protect our investment, and we left feeling like it was easy to do business with them.
Would definitely buy from them again.

Excellent experience with Alex Thornton at Mancini Sleepworld! He did a great job discussing my options and suggesting a comfortable quality mattress in my price range with a solid warranty. He is knowledgable and sincere and he doesn’t push to make a sale.
After shopping around, I came back for a second visit because of:
1) the mattress quality
2) the price was right
3) and Alex’s service
Alex was able to schedule my delivery quickly and convenient to my schedule.
Delivery was quick and efficient and they came right on time.
I had a great experience from start to finish and I am happy and confident with my purchase. Alex is a true southern gentleman and I plan on coming to him again for help with my parents selecting a new mattress.

Mancini’s management was kind enough to find me a box platform and refund the difference in price. The company that made the mattress E.S. Kluft of Los Angeles are another story. As a sworn Human Welfare Commissioner of Berkeley I feel it is my duty to warn you of this company and their shoddy construction and even shoddier warranty. I thank Mancini’s for their help and encourage them to drop E.S. Kluft &Co as a supplier.

I would be very careful buying a mattress here. I thought I had 30 days to bring the mattress back if I did not like it BUT THE REALITY IS I CAN’T RETURN IT FOR 30 DAYS!!!
I clarified this point several times and I know the manager of the Ashby store knew what I was asking him and he did not correct me. Now I have a mattress that hurts my back for a month!!!

The basis of this review is around Mancini’s customer service, since they don’t make the mattresses.
MS is located on Ashby right off of San Pablo. Nothing special in terms of the space, it’s another mattress store. Wide selection of mattresses and frames and such.
They have a trial return/exchange period. You have to try the bed for min 30 days and if you don’t like it, they refund or exchange. Caveat is that they only do an exchange once — which they weren’t clear about.
I got an extra hard mattress and then exchanged for a softer one — which seemed to be defective. But they told me that I only got one exchange/return, so I would need to get a company inspector to prove something was wrong. After a brief chat with the manager, they went to bat for us and made the manufacturer take back the mattress and gave us the credit — which we used towards a temperpedic that we love!
Solid pricing as well, but they really went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience, and I would highly recommend them!

I searched and searched for beds. I knew what I needed. I mean, I already had a great Simmons Beautyrest, it was just a little small for my current living situation… a partner, 2 dogs and a cat. We decided to go to Mancini’s Sleepworld on a Friday night at 7pm. Yes. That’s right. PARTY!
When we entered, a tumbleweed blew past us, as, expected, no one was there, until this lovely woman comes up with a smile so large. Alicia was happy to be there, excited to show us everything. I told her that I was pretty confident about what I wanted. She listened intently and gave us a few options. She really knows her mattresses. I was really impressed. In the end, we still purchased another, albeit, larger, Simmons beautyrest.
I had no intention of actually buying that night, until we were so impressed with Alicia.
Let’s hope we do not have some of the delivery issues people complain about on here (finger’s crossed).
