I’ve been using Christopher for our tax returns for the past two years, and specifically followed him to Lockbox from his prior firm.
Nobody likes taxes, but Christopher helps make the process as painless as possible for his clients. He’s extremely responsive (literally, usually same hour email response), and his rates are very competitive — despite also being a tax attorney and more qualified than many of his peers. I have always felt like you get that part of his expertise for free. He’s definitely versed and qualified to handle slightly more complex tax matters — business owners, rental property, etc.
One of the best examples of how Christopher goes above and beyond happened this year. He filed our federal and state returns for us, and made a mistake in not submitting the ACH information for payment. We noticed it a few days after taxes were due, and after touching base with Christopher he immediately admitted it was his error and we paid the balance due via check. He told us he would personally take care of any penalty owed.
Sure enough, a couple months later we received a letter from the state of CA with a sizable balance due for the penalty. I sent it to Christopher late on a Friday… to my surprise he literally replied within minutes and said he’d take care of it and pay the full balance out of his own pocket right away. Not every business admits their mistakes, and fewer of them make it right. Christopher definitely did that, and did so in minutes.
