Specialties
Hi! I am Jeremy the Juggler! I specialize in making kids laugh. My show, which is 30 to 60 minutes long, consists of comedy juggling, unicycling, performance origami and other variety acts.
My show is fast-paced, action-packed and full of audience participation.
It begins with a zany three-ball juggling routine filled with all sorts of disappearing ball magic and silly humor. Then I move to 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and finally 9 balls!
Next, I reveal what’s inside my magical box… my original origami designs — giant pop-ups, crazy transforming hats, and models that explode open into vibrant colors.
For outdoor events I offer my fireshow finale which begins with my trademark act — folding a burning paper into a flapping bird while riding a 6ft unicycle. From there, I juggle torches and fireballs, ride a unicycle on fire and conclude by fire-eating. I make kids promise not to try this at home!
I also teach origami & juggling and I make balloon animals. Stage or roving, English or Spanish.
History
Established in 1995.
Well, that’s when I graduated college with a math degree and decided I’d rather be juggling. I fell in love with juggling when I was 10 years old and have been at it ever since!
I was first introduced to juggling by a magician at a Christmas party at my mom’s work. I struggled for 4 months practicing everyday trying to learn how to juggle 3 balls. Finally one night, it all clicked; I could juggle! It was such a powerful moment that it propelled me into a lifetime of juggling. Had juggling come easy I probably would have lost interest before long.
By age 16, I could juggle 7 balls. I spent the next 10 years learning how to juggle 9 balls. I got to where I could qualify (18 catches) on a good day, but eventually realized there were much better ways to spend my time, in particular, focusing on how to make juggling entertaining to watch, because, honestly, watching somebody juggle 9 balls can get boring really quick!
So, how did I get into origami? We’ll save that one for later!

Business Owner
Ok, now it’s time to talk about origami and my other passions. Like juggling, I also discovered origami when I was 10 and soon started designing my own models such as a Surfer on a Wave, Swiss Army Knife, and Nailclippers. Like juggling, I’ve focused on designing origami that I can entertain with.
In 2001, I published my first book, «Origami to Astonish and Amuse» (St Martin’s Press), in 2010 published my second book «Origami Ooh La La» (CreateSpace) and in 2014 published my third book «Origami Pop-ups to Amaze and Amuse» (CreateSpace).
In 2011, I started a YouTube origami tutorial channel «jeremyshaferorigami.» As of 2014 it has 60 thousand subscribers and 20 million views.
My other passions that I’ve accumulated over the years are: unicycling, unicycle basketball, handwhistling, piano improvising, beatboxing, balloon twisting, mariachi singing and salsa dancing.
