I have never written a review for anything in my life. But I am simply compelled to sing Dr. Anderson’s praises! I had my very first root canal with him. It was faster and less painful than all other dental work I have had! (regular cavity fillings) In fact, the procedure was virtually painless. The worst part was the bad smell from my tooth. No big deal at all. I was in shock. When he told me he was done, I was in disbelief. Sure, it was not fun, no dental work ever is. But his work was amazing. I have had virtually no pain since then. I didn’t even have to take Tylenol or Ibuprofen afterward. I was slightly sore for about 2 hours afterward. That was it. I was so super nervous about getting this procedure done; (I am very holistic when it comes to my health… I hate doctor stuff in general) I was so surprised by how fast and easy my experience was. If you need a root canal and are dreading it, you should definitely go to Dr. Anderson. You will walk out of the office asking yourself, «Why did I make such a big deal about this!?»

If you need a root canal, Dr Anderson is definitely your man. We’ve all heard the horror stories about root canals and I haven’t ever doubted a word of them, but those stories were direct opposite of my experience with Dr Anderson: the procedure was short (about 45 minutes start to finish) despite the fact that I had more than the average number of canals. It almost completely pain free and the one time I twinged from a feeling, he stopped immediately to fix it. Over all, it was kind of like a more intense version of getting a cavity filled. God forbid I ever need another one, I’ll definitely be returning to Dr Anderson. Added bonus: he’s super nice and does a great job explaining what’s going on.

Dr. Anderson and his staff are the most efficient, considerate, and capable of any dental team I have dealt with in my 60+ years of often troublesome dental history. Everything said about Dr. Anderson, his staff, and facility in earlier reviews is 100 percent correct. He was recommended by my general dentist, who is also a patient. No one wants to wait for a root canal, so I was relieved when this could happen almost immediately.

I also had recent EXTREMELY FAVORABLE AND IMPRESSIVE experiences with James Anderson. Without a doubt, he possesses a rare commodity. Simply put, he knows his stuff, he can communicate it, and he’s affable to boot. His manner is so excellent, he puts you at ease immediately. Last but not least, he instills confidence and you know you’re in good, trust-​worthy hands.

Waaaaaahhhhh. An ache in my mouth began yesterday, just under the bridge. Thought maybe I just didn’t clean well enough. A few minutes of work and then it REALLY began to hurt. Not good. Fortunately, I was able to get an appointment with my dentist, who immediately referred me to an endodontist.
Dr. Anderson has a great chair side manner. Explains everything, almost to a fault, but for me, it’s great. He’s very gentle, considerate and respectful of your comfort. The office is fabulous and — OK, the music was a bit dentist office like, but quite forgivable.

I’ve been to Dr. Anderson twice, each time for a consultation and potential root canal. On both occasions, he did a careful evaluation and declared that a root canal was unnecessary. He and his associates were in a relatively old building on Telegraph near Derby. They moved recently to the medical building at the corner of Telegraph and Oregon, which was renovated a year or two ago. The new offices of Berkeley Endodontics look great — nice shiny surfaces and equipment that looks to be state-​of-​the-​art. (I was impressed by the digital «X-​Rays» that they took of my teeth and the subsequent manipulation of the images on the computer.)
This person exudes competence and has a good chair-​side manner. If I needed a root canal and was faced with a choice between a general dentist and this specialist, I’d definitely go with the specialist. These people know roots, and they drill through them all the time.
