My clothes are all stolen. Their staff member just said«It’s Berkeley, you know?». Update: Their owner called me and he was very nice and seemed responsible. I admitted that that was my fault about leaving my stuff for hours without paying attention.

GOANYWHEREELSE. I made the mistake of giving this place a second chance. The only two free washers I found that didn’t have«OUTOFORDER» signs on them actually were broken. Lost my $$ and didn’t get anything washed. Total waste.

This place really needs better management. It’s Jan. 2015, they still have over half of the washers out of order, and today both quarter machines are also not working! They did purchase some new washers recently but they are few and some of the new ones even don’t work either! Looking for a new place as of today.

DONOT, I repeat DONOT go to this hell hole !!! Let me start off by saying that there were 2O out of order machines. The change machine only cashed 1’s or 5’s which is pretty stupid to me, there is no attendant(customer service) and the bathroom is not available whish I’m sure it was filthy anyways judging on how the place looked. There are no obvious signs of washhouse hours so when I started my load at 9:30, when 10 o’clock came(closing time) I was forced to leave without drying my clothes. I understand people want to close and be done with it but he(washouse employee) was very rude and threw my friends wet underwear the ground when she put them in the dryer. F**k this place, or has NO customer service what so ever!!! That old man needs to retire because he is a straight up a**hole

I would suggest doing your laundry here the second they open, if you decide to wait until other people wake up you will unfortunately have a bit of difficulty as 9 of the washers are broken at this moment. The place is cramped and dirty filled with people passive aggressively fighting over the small cheaper washers and not wanting to commit to the large overpriced washers. I honestly feel sorry for the employees they are given no power to keep the customers happy. The machines eat your change and they just kind of shrug and suggest you prove to them you just lost your money. It’s not worth the frustration to argue over 1 quarter a week, but after a year of coming here every other week it is a bit frustrating. I would prefer not to have to write a bad Unilocal review and just go to a better laundromat but unfortunately this is the only one walking distance from my house.

I have been doing laundry here for three years and have finally had it with this place. I was optimistic when they replaced the tables and finally got a new trash can, but what has improved in appearance does not make up for the decline in the actual machines. Their prices have gone up, and the last two times their machines have malfunctioned — once requiring me to rewash everything(and pay double, since no staff were there), and the other time destroying several shirts and sweaters by using hot water even though the dial was set on cold. The owners didn’t respond to either of my messages. Way too expensive for the unreliable quality and nonexistent customer service.

Over half the machines here are out of order. Interestingly, they are all the smaller and less expensive machine.

No one told me one of Dante’s circles of Hell was a laundromat. I had the foolish notion of bringing my laundry a few doors down from the hotel I was staying at to do all of it at once. Instead some Indian woman who stunk so bad I assume she hadn’t showered in at least a month narrowly beats me in the door with her son, who she instructs to throw one piece of their presumably awful smelling laundry in each available machine except for the one I had. The interior was filthy, the rest of the patrons were so grimy they must’ve road the bus in from Richmond or Oakland slums because I have not seen anyone this wretched in Berkeley besides the homeless. Seemed like 40% of the machines were out of service, maybe some working machines should be put in their place? Suffice to say, I decided to walk back to the clean laundry room at my hotel since I was stuck doing one load at a time anyhow due to the lack of working machines and one horrific smelling Indian lady’s overwhelming desire to hog every available machine.

This place is okay. The wash is $ 2.50 and the dryers are however much you want: put in a few quarters or lots of quarters and just kid of see what happens. There’s not a lot of seating. It doesn’t feel particularly clean. It’s in a reasonable neighborhood. If it’s close, I say go for it. Whatever.

I haven’t had any problems with this laundromat. I am able to get my laundry clean and smelling fresh in an environment that is kept tidy and clean. I’m happy about the place for the following reasons: 1) there is always washers and dryers available; 2) someone always working; 3) it’s practically next door to my apt; and 4) there have pretty decent machines that don’t tear away at my clothes. I would give a higher review if the dryer didn’t take forever to dry my items, and if they replaced the torn tiles on the floor, but then again it’s a laundromat. I don’t have much expectations.

I go to this laundromat solely for the reason that it is within a block of my living space. Otherwise, I would definitely go elsewhere. I agree with Jessica, the dryers take forever. My main complaint here is that the sign over the dryers that says Last Load at 9 p.m. is not in any way implemented; when I do laundry after work and begin a load prior to 9 p.m., the older man who seemingly works for the place scowls with a death grimace and impolitely urges me out the door time and time again as I dry and fold laundry. It is distasteful, inappropriate and definitely rude, dude. Currently, my load of laundry sits piled in a corner because I fear going to the place after 8 p.m., which is when I arrive home from work and have time to do laundry. One evening I left in such a fearful hurry, under the evil gaze of laundry emperor, my down comforter ripped on the way out. I didn’t look back. I only give this place two stars because it is relatively clean. Oh yeah, and don’t ever think about slamming the doors to the dryers… yes, on accident counts too. You will most certainly be reprimanded.

Perfectly adequate laundromat. There’s always someone on staff there, usually cleaning. Lots of table space for folding. Cheapish washing machines, although the driers sometimes take a long, long time(a quarter gets you 6 minutes). The wash is enough time to run down to San Pablo on one small errand(e.g., Middle East Market, either of the Mexican grocers, Country Cheese, True Value, the dollar store, or the library). I like that they’ve added recycling bins. I do wish the parking lot smelled less like excrement.

I wouldn’t bother going here, after spending a lot of money at this establishment and doing countless loads. One night I put a bunch of money in a dryer to get my clothes dry and after ½ hour realized that the dryer wasn’t working. The owner refused to take care of it, acted like it was my fault while yelling at me in broken english. I of course had to yell back at him in broken spanish. Im sure it amused the other customers. Aren’t laundry mats fun?
