I have over 25 years experience in home repairs & renovations & remodels. Projects include: foundations, decking, siding, roofing, fencing, painting, plumbing, doors & windows, wiring, bath & kitchen remodels, flooring, & tile installations.

History

Established in 1983.

I started out in the 1980’s by doing maintenance for a 24 room small hotel in downtown La Jolla, CA. Because of the downtown area, I got to know and work for some of the small business owners. Soon, most of my work shifted to ‘fix it’ in rentals for real estate agents and preparing houses for sale. As I developed my skills, I started working more for home owners – fences, decks, tile, flooring, roofs, retrofitting – doing any and all jobs related to remodeling and improvement of the home. I found this more enjoyable because I could improve a home’s aesthetic from and utilitarian function. It feels great to use my mind and my hands to improve a physical space.

In the mid 90’s I was working in Big Sur on a 60 acre property, and I would often spend the weekends in Berkeley with friends. In the year 2000, I moved to Berkeley where I currently reside. Naturally, I prefer working in Berkeley and the bordering communities.

Business Owner

I grew up in La Jolla, Ca which was quite different from the La Jolla of today. It was small & quaint with paradise coves and beaches, canyons & hillsides – ample room for every kid to stretch their legs and their imaginations. I went to La Jolla High School and I graduated from San Diego State University in 1974. I later acquired a teaching credential in Life Science but discovered that I didn’t enjoy teaching as much as I enjoy working with my hands which led me to what I do.

I have an insatiable desire to understand how things work – how elements come together to represent the forms that they are. I am a curious person who loves the details.
