I highly recommend GLD! They turned a non-​yard, underneath a deck, into a delightful, meditative garden space. In addition, they designed a handsome deck railing that enhances our synthetic decking materials and they built a beautiful storage unit that blends into the outside off our 1912 craftsman house. Their designs and installations are intended for years of beauty.

I maintain gardens around Berkeley and Oakland, and for years I have also taken care of several gardens that the Goodmans designed. In contrast to many other gardens, it is interesting to see that the Goodman gardens hold up after many years and continue to look more and more beautiful. The home owners seem very happy with their work, and passers-​by always stop and compliment the gardens and ask who designed them. Their sense of design, color, form and texture is unsurpassed. Their gardens are inviting and very liveable. They build them to suit that particular client and their lifestyle. The hardscaping with trellises and stonework and lighting only add to the plantings. It is a joy to work in their gardens. I always highly recommend them as landscape designers to future clients.

Our front yard had been languishing for years when the Goodmans completely transformed it into a thing of beauty. Walking around the neighborhood, I asked a few people whose gardens I admired who had done their work. We interviewed a couple of landscapers, but were really drawn to Tim and Lisa. They wanted to hear from us what we envisioned for the space, and offered suggestions of their own. The results are beautiful. They redesigned the front walk to be more visually appealing, built a new wall, and added wrought iron railings to the new steps. The plantings are lovely and interesting. Lisa and Tim laid out a combination of foliage, colors, and textures that have become more beautiful as they grow. The garden is about nine months old, and I still stop to admire it every time I enter or leave the house. We really enjoyed our experience working with Tim and Lisa and wouldn’t hesitate to call on them again.

People walking by our house regularly compliment our garden 10 years after Tim & Lisa designed and installed it. Our yard had no character, and in Tim and Lisa’s hands it became a paradise. It’s gracious and inviting while at the same time being kid-​friendly and fun-​friendly. T&L’s attention to our desire for fragrant and bird-​welcoming flora balanced beautifully with their artistic vision for the garden. The hardscape, including stonework, is unparalleled. Our garden has truly become part of the living space of our home, and we revel in its beauty all the time, in every season.
