History
Established in 1980.
After completing a two-year intensive training program in psychodynamic psychotherapy and five years as the Clinical Director of a residential program for clients from the criminal justice system with dual-diagnoses, I decided to open my practice.
Thirty-two years later, I am more engaged than ever. I have developed expertise in Trauma Therapy, working with early-childhood and past traumas as well as current traumatic experiences, such as rape, domestic violence and veterans with PTSD returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.
Working with individuals and couples on their relationships, looking at what makes them thrive and what makes them wilt, has become another specialty. Don’t give up on your relationship! There is so much you are meant to learn and such great healing potential.
I also consult and supervise; act as a Subject Matter Expert to the Board of Behavioral Science Examiners, participating in the construction of the LCSW exam and write Psychological Assessments.
Meet the Business Owner
Gail H.
Business Owner
I did my graduate work at the University of Michigan (finishing first in class), followed by two years of intensive training at The Psychotherapy Institute in Berkeley.
During the second year of my training, I began to have doubts about psychotherapy. I felt that therapy promised more than it could deliver. If this was to be my career, I needed to feel extremely competent about what I was offering. For years, I attended conferences, seminars and read and read. In the early 1990s, I discovered EMDR which changed both my practice and my life. I have now worked with EMDR, as client, trainee, therapist and consultant for fifteen years. I am now satisfied that I bring what is best to my therapy practice, as a therapist and a person and look forward to using my growth and expertise with you.
