Love this Dollar Depot next to Monte Cristo Taqueria. The space is small, but the selection is great! They have a decent selection of helium balloons, there’s rarely a line, the owner and shop manager are very nice, and the products change often so it’s good to stop in every once in a while to see what’s new. I once found a set of four white Pier1 serving bowls here! They have a good selection of greeting cards and holiday /birthday supplies, too. You’ll also be hard pressed to find such personal attention at the other, larger dollar store at University and San Pablo. Once, I was short about 50 cents after tax and the owner insisted I just bring it next time. I prefer to give my business to these folks.

Their selection isn’t that great. I only saw like one or two things worth buying out of the whole store. Go to The Dollar Tree instead … they have a way better selection.

Just moved to Berkeley and this place provided all the supplies I needed to be up and running: — paper, pens — bike light — knives and other kitchen stuff — screw driver, pliers Thank you Dollar Depot — you just saved me 10x time and money.

I like this place. The people who run it are very sweet. They have some very odd things in this store, which I like. They have a lot of kitchen wares. cheap food and nice toiletries some times. They also have a craft section and a kids section which is really cool. Yes, there is a ten dollar minimum purchase for card users but you can get a truck load of stuff here for ten bucks!

I like this neighborhood dollar store. Their kitchen supply section is a strong point; a wide range including spatulas, pizza cutters, even garlic presses and other less-commonly-used gadgets. The selection is definitely more limited than say, The 99cents store, but the staff is very friendly and every now and then, you stumble upon a surprise find, like bead-making kits or high quality Steno notebooks. And the balloons(party packs and mylar) are great. $ 10 minimum purchase for debit/credit cards means I have to decide if the trip is worth it sometimes though, if I only need a couple items.

Not the greatest dollar store. You seriously feel like they just import cheap plastic junk from China. I mean, I felt like I was back in China while in that store. Go to the 99 cents store on San Pablo instead.

The name says it all… expect the awesome mylar balloon selection! Great selection of b-day and get well. Lots of characters. Otherwise great for phone cards out of country.
