The Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists is a progressive spiritual community that stands proudly as a beacon for social justice. Join us for services every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. followed by coffee/​tea and lunch. Children take part in the first 15 minutes of the service, and are then welcome to participate in the religious exploration program. This review pertains only to my experience with the church and staff renting their facility for my own event. While the facility is very nice, I found the staff to be unreliable, untrue to their word, and unprofessional. They double booked the space during the time I had it reserved for my event and made several other significant errors that made my event much more difficult. I found them to be only superficially apologetic and accommodating after that. I felt like me and my event were underestimated and that I was not treated in a professional manner.

Pleasant Hill, CA
No two Unitarian Churches are ever alike. My grandparents took me to the Nora Church in Hanska MN, which is in the country. The UU Congregations on the East Coast have a comfortable church feel, while the the «G» word is rarely uttered by their spiritual siblings on the West Coast. And my parent’s Church in Ames, IA is full of University-​based people and spirited secular humanist discussion.
The Berkeley Fellowship is on the Progressive end of the Unitarian spectrum, with a little bit of Camp Winarainbow thrown in. Their emphasis on spirituality and social justice is admirable, but like the candy bar, I’m left fluffy, but not stuffy.
