I came here for a Brazilian before my wedding last weekend, and I had a great experience. (As great of an experience anyone could have while getting a Brazilian, at least). There’s free parking behind her salon, and her lively and interesting conversation made the time go much faster than I anticipated. Believe me, even if you are shy or don’t typically chat during salon treatments, you will appreciate her kind distraction! The salon is clean and private– despite it being only one room and her locking the door for your service, it’s on the back side of the building, and I didn’t feel uncomfortable at all. The wax was efficient and as pain free as possible.
Payment is via cash or check only, and her prices are reasonable. If you’re looking for a facial or wax in Berkeley, look no further!

Mina is my absolute favorite provider. Her prices are fair, she is lightning quick, thorough, and hilarious. For the experienced, she is a true find.
If you are looking for a servant, go elsewhere, because Mina is a firecracker. She is a one woman operation, so she doesn’t have time for phone niceties and she doesn’t like to negotiate for times. Just call her up, ask for your time, and agree or call back if you have to figure out your schedule. This is ideal for me — I call and get an appointment within an hour, and I’m out in 30 or less — full Brazilian and eyebrow! It’s amazing. She may answer the phone during your service. It doesn’t bother me.
If you’re ok with no ass-​kissing, let’s talk about her services. She does a fantastic Brazilian, eyebrows, or lip wax. Every hair gone, ingrowns conquered, eyebrows beautifully shaped. I’ve been getting waxed for 15 years and she is the best. If it’s your first few times, there may be some slight bruising or bleeding — this is because of her speed and your skin not being used to it. If you need handholding, go somewhere else for awhile and come back when you’re used to it.
She’s not shy about sharing her opinion and loves to chat, just like a hairstylist. She knows all my dating history and remembers most of it. She’s like a favorite auntie — she might say some things you don’t expect but you love her and appreciate her character. Don’t talk about politics if you’re sensitive. But if you can appreciate a funny, talented, independent female entrepreneur who takes no shit, you’ll love her just like I do!

This was my first time visiting Annahita. I called and inquired about a same day appointment and she was willing to take me in the next 10 minutes. I came in for a bikini wax (first time ever!!) and I was attracted to the salons prices and reviews. She was very nice and chatted with me throughout the service.
She was quick and for the most part it wasn’t too painful. Since this was my first time, I can’t exactly compare it to any other bikini waxing, but I definitely think I would go back.

I called for an appointment and asked if it was possible to have my brows tweezed. I was barked at, asking how I heard of Annahita. She then told me I could come in and she would let me know if she could tweeze my brows or not. As I was telling her I would call her back, SHE HUNG UP ON ME. I am appalled. So unprofessional and rude. What kind of hair removal business can’t tweeze brows??? Ridiculous.

Just had THE BEST experience here! Mina is fantastic and does an incredible job. She is so fun to talk to and really spent the extra time making sure my eyebrows looked the best for my face shape. I have finally found my new favorite waxing spot in Berkeley! :)

I have been going to Minna for 3 three years for all my waxing needs. She is sweet, animated, interesting, and quick. Minna is quite liberal with her thoughts and opinions and leans to the left (so, if you are a bit more conservative, maybe she isn’t for you) and she has a great sense of humor. I thoroughly enjoy our chats and think she is a wonderful person. Also, it helps that she is so quick and efficient; particularly when waxing more sensitive areas. I definitely recommend Minna to anyone looking for a good esthetician.

I stumbled on this place by a stroke of luck, and I am SO glad it worked out that I did! I called and asked if I could stop by in 5 minutes, and she was free!
I have never felt more comfortable and welcomed by someone in a waxing appointment before. She is so sweet and caring. She also does a fantastically thorough job – can’t complain there!
I got a Brazilian, and I think I’m gonna head back soon to try a facial and eyebrow waving!

I’ve been seeing Mina for almost 3 years now, and this review is long overdue! Her approach isn’t that of a standard spa, but that’s why I like her. She welcomes me with open arms each time, hugging and greeting me by singing her favorite songs. Self-​proclaimed: «enemy of the hair». So funny!
I had gotten bikini waxes before but never a Brazilian. Went in and haven’t gone elsewhere to this day. Mina will make you feel comfortable, she’ll work quickly, and try to minimize the pain as much as she can. Very flexible, accommodating, and reasonably priced. And most importantly, she does a great job and has me driving all the way from the Presidio in San Francisco to see her.
Mina, I’ll see you soon! This weekend probably.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would.
I called at 10:30am to make an appointment at 2pm that same day. At 12:30pm I had an emergency and needed to drive to Walnut Creek right away.
I called them at 1pm to cancel my appointment and you know what she said to me? «You are a SLOPPY person and I don’t need you» and HUNG UP ON ME!
Wow. The rest of the reviews for this place is right on… this woman is NOT nice. No business is worth your money if they are going to treat you like scum and call you names. Who does that? Wow…

Annahita Waxing is a great service!
I have been seeing Meenha at Annahita for three years since I moved to Berkeley, and it has been a wonderful experience for me. I found her through Unilocal,many years ago and decided to give her a try and am so happy with my decision. Meenha is one of the friendliest people I have ever met, and I love when I get to come to her spa. She is extremely professional and also flexible, and will work with my schedule to help me find a time that works for me. Her gorgeous spa in Elmwood on College Avenue is extremely clean, and beautiful inside, and feels completely private when I am there as she only works on one client at a time.
When I go I get a full leg wax, and Meenha is able to do this efficiently and professionally with minimal pain and with high quality wax that lasts for a long time. But beyond how good of a waxing she does, Meenha is a fun person to be with and always asks me about life and is truly interested in what I have to say. I would recommend her to anyone that needs to get waxed, and especially to college students from CAL as her spa is so close to campus.

Easy scheduling

All I can say is NEVER AGAIN! Poor customer service and was left with several hairs missed… Meena use to be GREAT and the lack of kindness and overall client respect has gone down hill. Wish my review could be better, but I’ve gone else where it’s better all the way around, even if I have to pay extra.

Mina is simply the best! I would not let anyone else touch my eyebrows, bikini line or legs! I have been going to her for 19 years — now, the baby I was carrying when I first met her (working at another salon), is going to her as well. She has such attention to detail — Mina just spent 10 minutes plucking out ingrown hairs on me during my visit yesterday. A same day appointments make rushing in possible and a big plus on College Avenue is her PRIVATE parking right behind her building. After I was doen yesterday, she shared her food with me before I left to do the rest of my errands. Mina is AWESOME! Try her and you will be as sol das I have been for the last 19 years!

Just had my very first Brazilian wax from Annahita. She was very matter-​of-​fact about everything, shushing at me when I was shy about being mostly naked and keeping up a steady conversation to distract me from the pain. Yes, it was still painful, but I appreciated her no-​nonesense attitude and her demonstration of just how vigorously I should exfoliate the area post-​wax. I didn’t like the overall experience enough to go back…

Mina has been doing my eyebrows & waxing for over 10 years and I would never go to anyone else. She designed my eyebrows which I get compliments on all the time. She is funny and makes you feel comfortable — like a friend would. I love her!

Mina does a wonderful job at waxing. She is the self-​proclaimed «Enemy of Hair.» And she’s FAST.
What I love most about Mina, and mark my words, I LOVE HER, is that she is so honest. Sometimes, when she greets me at the door she says, «You want the pain? Come, I bring the pain.» And then she laughs. And it’s beautiful and amazing and so very true. She does not pretend like she’s doing anything other than what she is doing. I’ve been to some other salons where they ask you to contort your body in weird ways and they don’t look directly at you and they treat bikini waxing like it’s shameful.
Let’s be honest. You’re going somewhere and paying money to get the hair ripped out of your wog. This is no place for propriety or manners. Shut up, pull the fat of your stomach up with your hand, and get your knees behind your ears because Mina is going to get every last hair that has ever thought of growing below your waist.
I will drive/​fly/​walk/​run from any corner of the earth to get to Mina’s for my waxing. I don’t care if in the future I end up living outside of California. I will not go anywhere else.
